Details

Multiple times per week we host custom game sessions and stream/cast them live on Twitch. The game modes are voted on by players and one of the subreddit moderators or community hosters set the games up and host them!

[Suggestion] Rework of the "You Knocked xxxx" Message

I`ve actually never read this here before but this bothers me alot. When you down a Player and than down another one while the knock message is still displayed, its really really hard to tell 100% if you also knocked the second and maybe the third guy, because there is no real highlight on anything - just the names change.

It happens to me so often that i encounter squads and cant tell from the knock messages if i have 2 or 3 down. This confuses me, maybe highlight the player names that change or the message itself with i dont know, colour, thickness, bigger fontsize whatever.

would be awesome if that could be changed, cant be a big deal at all

Does anyone else hear ghost-steps?

Hi!
Just wondering if anyone else hears ghost-steps once in a while.
It appears I only hear it when I'm walking myself, as it stops when I stop moving.
It's not all the time, but once in a while.
Doesn't matter if I'm walking inside houses, on concrete etc, the ghost-steps I hear is the "moving-in-grass"-sounds

Shower thought: I always thought movie villains are ridiculous for taking sweet time talking to the downed hero, then I realized I once try to t-bag a knocked opponent before being head-shot by his buddy.

[Suggestions] A few suggestions that would, IMO, improve the game.

As it stands now, we're getting more and more communication from PUBG Corp and it feels good. On top of that, the last update brought a complete change to the game which is good too.

However, I still feel like we can add more to the game to make it the perfect BR experience it definitely deserves. Now, I'm not Shroud, but I have played the game for a descent amount and reached a good ranking a few times now. Here are some of the suggestions I have for the game, divided in different categories. Please tell me what you think !

Weaponry :

ARs :

  • While you definitely managed to change the current meta, allowing SMGs and DMRs to be useful over an AR in many more situations than before, there is still a lack of 7.62 ARs in the world loot pool. The AKM, while buffed, still feels inferior to a kitted M4, and many players won't pick it up because of its harsh past. Why not add a couple of 7.62 ARs, such as
    • The AK-12 : It's a modern version of the AK-74, which itself is a replacement for the AKM. It could definitely be good to have a 7.62 AR to fully kit. Why not give it the Tactical stock on top of that ? This could compete with the M416 while being different. And I'm not asking for something with the recoil of an SMG when fully kitted, just a gun worth picking up and using when you find 7.62 ammo. Currently, only the Groza feels like a really good AR in that caliber, and you cannot mod it nor find it every game.
    • The SIG 556xi Russian : Once again, a modern rifle. This would be the rifle to compete with the SCAR : No Tac stock, but a grip and muzzle slot for mods. This way, the 7.62 ARs are organized in the same way as the 5.56 ones :
      • The M16 and AKM : 'Old', not kittable, useful when in a pinch BUT also provides the highest DPS. Good for Close Quarter battles.
      • The SCAR-L and SIG 556xi R : Modern, access to a grip and muzzle attachment but not to the Tactical Stock. Medium high RoF and higher recoil.
      • The M416 and AK-12 : The overall better ARs, high RoF, somewhat 'low' recoil, access to the Tac Stock + Grip + Muzzle Attachment.

SRs :

  • This suggestion is definitely not the most important. It is merely a variety addition, and while it would be nice to have it, it is not necessary :
    • Another bolt action rifle in the World spawn, such as the Steyr SSG-08 : This rifle is just a modern bolt action rifle. It could be used as a substitute to the Kar, while providing a few drawbacks and advantages, such as :
      • No bullet loop for the Steyr, as it is a magazine-fed rifle (is that the correct terminology ?)
      • More damage drop off, this way the Kar stays superior for very long range shots
      • Overall less interesting ballistics, even if that doesn't make a lot of sense
      • The access to mods, such as the Extended Mag for DMRs and SRs
      • Faster bolt action for easier follow up shots
      • Quieter when using a suppressor because of the fact that it is a modern bolt action rifle, think Suppressed M24 level

Pistols :

  • The pistols in themselves are fine, but they are lacking utility wise. I'm just gonna copy and format better a reply I made a few days ago.
    • Switching to them should be faster than reloading in order to maximize their utility. People running shooting drills (like in T.Rex Arms videos) often switch to their pistol and it is WAY faster than reloading. This would make for a really good reason to carry a pistol even in solo and for good plays.
    • Drivers should be allowed to use them while driving one handed. Then, there would be absolutely no reason not to pick up a pistol. And by driving carefully you can shoot someone else's tires if you're behind them, per example. Think Far Cry pistol driving. But give it a few drawbacks, like higher recoil and less precision.
    • Adding maybe the ability to carry your downed team mate on your back and carry them to safety while holding a pistol. This would make for some interesting plays and definitely would make pistols more useful. Or, as u/theyetisc2 suggested, simply the ability to shoot with your pistol while reviving your team mate. No reload allowed, just one magazine to keep the ennemies at bay.

SMGs :

  • Give my Vector more grips ! That's all. SMGs are really great now, thank you for that PUBG Corp.

Attachments and Utility :

  • As you might have noticed, I'm a big fan of variety. When PUBG Corp announced the new grips, I was ecstatic, before realising that instead of having grips that fit everyone's playstyle they simply changed the meta by making the half grip and vertical grip the best grips all around, be it for spraying or for tapping (all hail u/WackyJacky101 ). Therefore, the grips should be changed again to maximize your idea of different usages instead of 'one grip fits all'.
    • The Vertical and Angled grips are fine. One lowers the vertical recoil, perfect for tapping and/or spraying at close range while the other lowers horizontal recoil, perfect for medium range sprays. Maybe buff the recoil reduction on the Angled a bit so it can compete ?
    • The Lightweight grip is currently useless. Make it the Sprayer's nightmare and the Tapper's dream ! It should be perfect for the SKS.
      • Give it a high recoil recovery speed
      • It should reduce weapon sway
      • It should come back in place soon after the weapon is fired, which is not the case in Wacky's video on Tapping
      • It should increase recoil a fuckton, make it absolutely horrendous for spraying.*
    • The Thumb grip is good, but could maybe become the SMG's best grip:
      • High ADS Speed
      • High vertical recoil reduction
      • No horizontal recoil reduction
      • Increased weapon sway so it isn't too OP
    • The Half grip feels similar to the Vertical one, where it shouldn't. With these changes, the grip will become awesome for spraying at distance while losing face to face with an SMG with a Thumb grip.
      • Medium vertical and horizontal reduction
      • Low ADS Speed
      • Low recoil recovery speed
      • It shouldn't come back in place after tapping, but rather send the weapon all over the place. I don't know if it's contradictory with what I said before.
  • When you announced new attachments, I was also thinking in adding new attachments rather than variations of grips, such as :
    • A bipod, which would take the space of the grip. It would be good for a DMR or an AR used as a DMR.
      • Increase Weapon sway
      • Increase recoil overall
      • However, it would render recoil almost inexistant when proning. Proning however exposes you to ennemy fire, and especially your head, so I think it wouldn't be too OP.
    • Maybe a Flashlight for Night Mode ? Can we have a night mode ? Please ? Pretty please ?
    • Maybe a Sling, as others have suggested already, which would make switching to that weapon a whole lot faster.
  • The Flare gun is a great way to make the pistol slot useful. How about adding some binoculars in this slot ? Something like a 4-15x, quite rare but very useful for spotting, be it for your team's sniper or simply for gaining intel on the ennemy's position.

If you try to throw away a magazine and your inventory is full, instead of doing nothing (not even an audio cue), the ammo should just be thrown away with the mag when trying to swap attachments.

It is very frustrating and creates extra steps that cost valuable time and increases vulnerability. Having to split a stack and drop ammo or drop stuff to make room then sort it out and pick up the essentials again is very cumbersome and something I think should be addressed.

In the last two games I played (a squad game with friends in tpp and a solo game in fpp) I experienced some extreme latency and desync issues.

I got shot on 3 different occasions first, before I even reacted, and I took no damage at all and was able to turn the tables and shoot them down with no effort and kill them. I took no damage, my armor took no damage, and there were all of the visual and sound indications that I was hit and should have taken damage/died. And although this was on my end where I came out as lucky and survived there have also been tons of times where I blatantly shoot first, hit them, nothing happens, and then die.

This is EXTREMELY unfair for everyone involved. I don't want to not be killed when I rightfully should have, and I don't want to get free kills because the other person is being utterly fucked by the game/game connection. This has been happening much more recently since the update #12, but has definitely happened in the past as well on the older patches.

Please, fix this. Work on it, please. There's no reason for this game to be in such a sorry state. As much as new maps and balance changes and new grips and emotes and whatever are nice; the game needs it's core (latency, desync, mechanics, etc) to be fixed. It needs to be a much more stable game before all that other stuff is added. I know different teams work on different parts, but the game is suffering because it just so broken. I don't want savage, I don't want emotes, I want the damn game to work.
