Three hit melee needs to go.

Posted: 07 May 2018 05:30 AM PDT

Most shooter games have one hit melee kills. Everyone was perfectly happy with two hit melee kills and I have no idea why it was made three to be honest. Getting in that close to an enemy should have some risk vs reward payoff.

Posted: 07 May 2018 04:57 AM PDT

Greetings Guardians!

Everything we know so far with Warmind

So with this Season/DLC, Bungie have been working at better defining the content coming with Warmind, and the content coming with Season 3

The following list of things are for people who purchase Warmind:

On May 8, your adventure continues in Warmind, the second expansion to Destiny 2.

Golden Age satellites slam into the surface of the Hellas Basin on Mars. Icy glaciers thaw, revealing the core of the Warmind Rasputin – and an ancient Hive army, bent on its destruction.

Destiny 2 Expansion II: Warmind introduces new activities, new weapons and gear, more endgame content, and an all-new story.

  • New Story (Prologue Cinematic) - Ana Bray, a Guardian long thought lost, searches for a connection to her past…one that could be hidden forever beneath the polar ice cap of Mars (Developer Video)

  • New Cooperative Endgame Activity (Developer Video) - Escalation Protocol is a public, player-triggered event where players fight escalating waves of enemies and slay challenging bosses alongside their Fireteam and other brave Guardians on Mars. Locate and activate Escalation Protocol, and then survive seven waves of increasingly difficult combat waves to earn exclusive new armor and weapons.

  • New Raid Lair (Picture) - Return to the Leviathan with a Fireteam of six to conquer the Spire of Stars, launching on Friday, May 11 at 10:00AM PT.

Everything we know so far for Season 3

The following are for anyone who has purchased the base game, Destiny 2 and it does not require the purchase of Warmind

Alongside the launch of Warmind, a new season of gameplay updates begins for all players of Destiny 2, including powerful upgrades to Exotic weapons, the introduction of Ranked Crucible play, new Crucible maps, Private Matches, Heroic Strike Modifiers, Multi-Emote, additional Vault Space, and much more.

Power Levelling Changes

New changes are being made to the reward systems in Destiny:

  • New Soft Cap
    • The soft cap for Warmind is 340
    • Soft cap is the point you can climb to easily via drops from any source. The hard cap is the power level you can obtain from weekly reward sources.
    • These numbers don't consider any +5 mods. Remember that all drops are calculated using your Best Possible Power, regardless of if you have the gear equipped or not. It can even be in the vault or on another character!
    • The target is that players who participate in all the weekly activities should take several weeks to reach the hard cap. Raids/Trials grant the largest increases, clan engrams provide very small increases, and the other weekly sources fall between those two.
    • Players who don't participate in any group weekly activities are unlikely to hit the hard cap before the next release; dedicated omnivore players will hit it before players that just play Raids or Trials exclusively.
  • New Hard Cap
    • The new Hard Cap is 380 (Max Power Level)
    • The final 10 points from 370 to 380 will be significantly slower than 340 to 370; we expect it to take players roughly equal time to go from 340 to 370 as from 370 to 380. We decided to make this change because climbing to 370 allows you to tackle endgame content without suffering a severe under level penalty, but creates a significant accomplishment in achieving 380.

Difficulty Tuning

New sandbox changes are coming with this patch, these will focus on increasing the difficulty in Destiny 2:

  • First change is to outgoing player damage scaling vs. higher-leveled combatants *These are going to be steeper (make them more difficult), similar to Destiny 1.
    • As a result, higher-leveled combatants will take longer to kill than they currently do—but if you're at or above their level, you can still melt them
  • Next, extending our outgoing and incoming damage scaling from capping at a 40 power level delta to a 50 power level delta.
    • Currently, in Destiny 2, scaling only affects the difficulty of combatants up to 40 Power levels above the player before plateauing.
    • Increasing this to 50 Power levels adds a little more room for players to show off how badass they really are.
  • Next, if combatants are 50 Power levels or higher above the player, they will be immune and display a "??" icon on their nameplate.
  • Next change is to combatant energy shields:
    • Matching energy element damage to shields is now most effective (roughly 3x damage plus the current shield detonation), followed by non-matching energy (roughly 2x damage), and Kinetic damage won't have any bonus damage multiplier.
    • To further incentivize the matching game, the 3x multiplier for matching damage types is not affected by the damage scaling of higher-leveled combatants until the combatants display the "??" nameplates.

Exotic Weapon Tuning

Weapon Tuning for Exotics will enhance some of the most unique items in your personal arsenal.

Preview of each weapon so far:

  • Gravitron Lance:
    • Reduced the recoil of the burst
    • Added some aim assist
    • Changed it's three round burst to two.
    • Gif of it in action
  • Sturm & Drang:
    • Both Sturm and Drang have had their base stats improved.
    • Drang now has Rampage and a maxed out magazine.
    • Sturm magazine: overflow rounds in Sturm now have a damage boost of 1.8x
    • Video of it in action
  • Skyburner's Oath:
    • Added explosive rounds as default
    • In ADS, the weapon will perform the same.
    • Full auto, slow firing, high impact.
    • Hipe fire: slower projectiles at a faster rate of fire that tracks targets and explodes. The tracking functionality tends to draw projectiles to center mass rather than to precision regions, so we reduced the precision scalar a bit and increased damage to the body (precision hits still do bonus damage; and overall DPS is increased).
    • Video of it in action
  • Rat King
    • Now full auto so the increased RoF perks take effect more
    • Rat Pack perk now triggers when fireteam members have Rat King slotted as their kinetic weapon, stowed or in hand.
    • We also front-loaded the stat benefits of Rat Pack so they increase a bit more drastically with one or two fireteam members—and upped the base invisibility timer of Vermin to seven seconds.
  • Tractor Cannon:
    • Tractor Cannon has a debuff that adds suppression and makes the target vulnerable to Void damage for 10 seconds
    • The Void vulnerability does not stack with itself, but it does stack with other damage debuffs
    • Video of it in action
  • Hardlight:
    • Holding reload on Hard Light will cycle elemental damage types in combat
    • Video of it in action
    • Bounced bullets now do double damage
  • Borealis:
    • Deals double damage until the next reload or damage type swap after breaking an enemy shield with matching damage type
    • Video of it in action
  • Risk Runner:
    • Arc Conductor increased resistance to incoming Arc damage
    • Enabled Arc Conducter in PvP
    • Video of it in action
  • Sweet Business:
  • D.A.R.C.I.:
    • Grants 4x damage once locked on a target
    • 7 round magazine, reduced zoom for closer engagements and aim assist stat
    • Video of it in action

Exotic Masterworks

There will be one Exotic Masterwork per Exotic weapon that exists so far in Destiny 2. In order to begin the Masterwork process, players will have to find an Exotic Masterwork Catalyst. When inspecting the Exotic, there will be a hint at what activities can grant the catalyst for that weapon. Not all Exotic Masterworks have the same drop rates. Some Exotic Masterwork weapons are guaranteed after a certain amount of engagement, while others are earned at random.

Things to know:

  • There will be one Exotic Masterwork per Exotic weapon
  • Players will have to find an Exotic Masterwork Catalyst to begin the MW process
  • Hints in-game on item to give idea of where to find Catalyst
  • Exotic MW won't have the same drop rate; some will be guaranteed after a certain amount of engagement, others are random.
  • There will be a few Exotic Masterworks paired with difficult activities or accomplishments in-game
  • Exotic weapon Masterwork pursuits only need to be done once per account
  • The Exotic Masterwork process takes place fully in the weapon details screen and not in character inventory space
  • Not all Exotic Masterworks will be available immediately on Season 3 launch

Heroic Strike Modifiers + Nightfall Challenge Mode Changes

  • Heroic Strikes
    • Season 3 will increase the difficulty of heroic strikes and add burn, advantage, and disadvantage modifiers
    • Burn modifier rotates weekly, and both advantage and disadvantage modifiers rotate daily
    • Burn modifiers include arc, solar, and void
    • Advantage modifiers include brawler, grenadier, and heavyweight
    • Disadvantage modifiers include glass, blackout, iron, and grounded
  • Nightfall Challenge Cards
    • Rare nightfall challenge cards can be upgraded to Legendary through Xur
    • Legendary nightfall cards allow you to select one burn, one advantage/disadvantage, and two additional disadvantages.
    • Nightfall scores have been updated to 30k, 60k, 110k, and 200k

The new Crucible Maps will give every player new spaces to fight in the Crucible. All matchmade playlists will feature Meltdown and Solitude.

  • Solitude - Solitude will present a frozen landscape for players to battle each other.

Picture of both

Private Matches

Private Matches are returning! They will give you full control over your competitive experience. Set your own match and invite willing combatants to play.

[Note: You'll need to purchase the Expansion to use the new maps in Private Matches.]

    • Will be adjusting the matchmaking so solo players don't fight against full fireteams as often.
  • New Eververse Mechanic called the Prismatic Matrixyay...
    • A new Eververse experience will debut in Season 3 called the Prismatic Matrix
    • Prismatic Matrix is meant to give more control over Eververse items, offer a path guaranteeing access to specific items, and drop fewer duplicate items
    • You get one free use of the Prismatic Matrix at the start of the week, and more activations can be purchased for 200 Silver each
    • Bright Engrams will continue to drop on each level up

    • Once a week while the aura is active, guiding a raid to completion grants one Bright Engram. (Thanks /u/lakinator)
  • New Inventory Slots: "Pursuits"
    • A new inventory category has been created that will contain pursuit tracking items, such as those for Exotic quests.
    • Items in the Pursuits category are specific to each character and not shared across the account.

    • SFX Volume
    • Dialogue/Cinematics Volume
    • Music Volume
    • Chat Volume
  • Raid Reward Tweaks
    • Weekly lockouts for raid and raid lair rewards are now class-based.
    • Players running multiple characters of the same class will receive rewards only the first time they run the raid or raid lair in a given week.
  • Fixed an issue with collections where event emblems would not show up unless players owned Curse of Osiris.
  • Fixed an issue where players would encounter a black screen upon loading into the Tower.
  • Fixed an issue where Cayde was offering only one treasure map for Mercury.

I’m not going to be able to get the Crucible helmet ornament....and I think that’s great!

Posted: 07 May 2018 07:28 AM PDT

Before the changes to comp. I hated comp, so I rarely played it. Then when season 3 and the DLC was announced I realized I needed to put in some time to win 10 more comp matches....only I didn't, life happened. My job and social life got in the way and I haven't been able to get those 10 wins. But you know what, that is the way it goes and I'm ok with that. I will see people with the ornament and I will be jealous, and I think that is awesome and the way things should be. Keep bringing more aspects like that to the game Bungie!!

Also not to mention, that I could have gotten it. If it was that important to me, I could have woken up an hour earlier the last couple of weeks and worked for it. I chose not to and I only have myself to blame.

Just got an Xbox and the built-in LFG is amazing.

Posted: 07 May 2018 07:16 AM PDT

Got an Xbox One X for my birthday (best wife ever) and made it my main Destiny console for the 4K graphics. Anyway, Playstation or Destiny as a game needs an LFG feature like the Xbox has. I'm sure many of you know of this already, but if you have an Xbox and haven't tried it out yet, you definitely should.

It is very simple, you just post what you want to do with a brief description. On Playstation it is a bit of a hassle because you have to post on something like the Destiny app, invite players to your party, and then have them join from the party screen. Or you have to add them as friends. On Xbox, there is just an "invite to game" option which is so much easier and fast.

Anyway, just thought I would post this in case anyone is considering switching their Destiny adventures to Xbox, or if Bungie or Playstation are reading this, you should do this thing. A built-in LFG is needed for a social game like Destiny.

It's roughly one day before "Warmind" and this sub is in both a state of cautious optimism and normality.

Posted: 07 May 2018 03:05 AM PDT

This is honestly the least salty I have seen this sub in months and that's saying something. Although, there's something different in the air, and I don't mean that smell of sulfur from the shitposts either.

The Warmind DLC has people hyped once again, but also it seems like for once, a good majority of the community is taking a step back and waiting to see what happens. I honestly don't blame anyone, the nonsense that was CoO, we should be skeptical, if this is a continuing trend, then I don't know but, I like how united this sub is, and I love that there is a lull in the salt for the first time in a while. Here's hoping we do not crash into a riot after the DLC drop.

Let's make sure to take a critical approach and hold our ground instead of sharpening the pitchforks. I hope to be playing with a lot of you and hopefully enjoying the new content come tomorrow.

.

.

Edit: Wow a lot of good responses in this thread! Good to see that we are so united after so many trials and tribulations with this franchise. Not to mention, the amount of patience the community has had with Bungie lately and vice versa. It's good to see the studio admit some faults and try to get more active with us. That is, at least, my current take on it, please feel free to correct me or post your own personal views of the overall series.

.

.

Edit 2: I'm happy to see people come out and express how on the fence they are. I myself am on the fence about all of this. Frankly, I'm mostly jumping back because I would love to regroup my old clan and, well...I paid for the Season Pass so I have to see this through. Regardless, at the end of tomorrow or this week, we will find out how the community feels about the feedback Bungie was given.

.

.

Edit 3: Grammar and formatting...

If you bought D2 Deluxe Edition, you need to "buy" the DLC to download it.

Posted: 07 May 2018 06:04 AM PDT

Saw it yesterday while searching in the PS Store for Warmind's info. I have the D2 Deluxe Edition with the firts two DLC, but to activate the pre load, while I'm working and my PS4 is in rest mode, I had to "buy" it for free.

Check this out guardians, so you all can play after work without waiting for a long download.

EDIT: It seems it is not needed for PC, as pointed by some users below.

Prismatic Matrix, explained. Again. Because many do not seem to understand it.

Posted: 07 May 2018 04:17 AM PDT

I've seen a lot of ill-informed posts, some particularly upset, on the Prismatic Matrix being introduced in patch 1.2.0. This is a short, concise explanation.

This system will be in place in addition to the current level-up Engram system. You will still be able to grind EXP for Engrams.

Each week ten items will be selected from all Eververse goods. In this image from the TWaB article, we see two Legendary Ghost Shells, three Legendary ships, a Legendary sparrow, a Rare emote, a Legendary emote, an Exotic Ornament, and an Exotic Ship.

Each week, when you level up the first time with the Well-Rested buff, you'll get a Prismatic Facet. Note that the Well-Rested buff will not be active until you reach max level (not power level).

By using your Prismatic Facet on the Prismatic Matrix, you will recieve one of the ten possible items. However, if you already own an item in the Matrix, you will not recieve a duplicate.

You may hold up to three Prismatic Facets at a time. They are also available for purchase in addition to the free one you can get each week. They will cost 200 Silver.

The Prismatic Matrix was made to meet certain criteria:

Give players more control over how they earn Eververse items

Offer a more predictable path each week that guarantees access to specific items

Drop fewer duplicate items

This is not "another lootbox", as it will draw from the same pool of items as Tess offers for sale, either through Engrams or direct purchase for Silver Dust.

For those that do not wish to pay money, it essentially acts as an additional, single, free item every week.

Refer to this link for additional information, and Bungie's official word. If you have any questions, I'm almost positive Cozmo or DMG will be commenting on this post if it becomes popular. I will happily edit any information that is either incorrect or misleading. This post (with Bungie replies) may also be of some use.

I do have some questions, however.

-If an item is obtained, but dismantled for Bright Dust (for example, a Ghost Shell), does it still count as a duplicate item? Are we able to get it again from the Matrix? The system is aware of what has been dismantled. Thanks /u/xAwkwardTacox

-What happens if we own all items available in the Matrix? Are we able to spend a Facet? If so, what will we get, if anything? You won't be able to interact with the Matrix if you have all items offered that week. Thanks /u/Sarcosmonaut

-Can we store Facets in the Vault, and thus increase our maximum capacity to 6?

There lived a certain mind in Old Russia long ago

He was big and strong, in his core a flaming glow

But to Clovis Bray he was such a lovely dear

He could break the Iron Lords with SIVA

Full of ecstasy and fire

But he also was the kind of teacher

Subminds would desire

Ra ra Rasputin

Take the SIVA and go to the stars

Ra ra Rasputin

Old Russia's greatest love machine

Let us hope we can save him on Mars

He ruled the Cosmodrome and never mind the war

But the Exo frame, he danced really wunderbar

In all affairs of earth he was the mind to please

But he was real great when he had a [O] to squeeze

For the Vanguard he was no weapons dealer

Though they'd heard the things he'd done

They believed he was a sleeping dreamer

Who would defend their [O]

The demands to do something about this outrageous

Mind became louder and louder"

This Warmind's got to go, declared his enemies

But the Subminds begged, don't you try to do it, please

No doubt this Rasputin had lots of hidden arms

Though he was AI they just all fell to his charms

Then one night some Hive of higher standing

Set a trap, they are to blame

Come to service us, they kept demanding

But he never came

Lover of the Russian queen

They put hive magic into his vault

Ra ra Rasputin

Old Russia's greatest love machine

We helped and he said it wasn't our fault

Ra ra Rasputin

Lover of the Russian queen

They didn't quit, they wanted his core

Ra ra Rasputin

Old Russia's greatest love machine

And so he shot them 'til they were gore

Oh, this/those Warmind(s)

Asher Mir needs a tent.

Posted: 07 May 2018 11:50 AM PDT

Ok, Asher needs a lot of things.

  1. A hug.

  2. Make him an actual intellectual badass, not just sound like a pompous dick.

  3. Lower levels of petulance in the morning.

  4. An Ikora that respects him and his work, instead of dismissing it in favor of her own brand of spiritual ignorance. I mean come on, that entire exchange where Asher is trying to understand the Traveller's light left over on Io so he can engineer a solution to the loss of light, AND IN COMES IKORA saying not only can you not do that, you shouldn't even have tried!

  5. EDIT: Some aspirin.

Here is a guy that could be the Dr. House of destiny. A toxic piece of shit, but you need him, and without him and his knowledge the vex really could do some damage.

Ok so my point. Asher's had a rough go of it. I want to like the guy, and I want to like Io. What Asher NEEDS, without any story REWRITE, is a tent.

  1. Poet Linguist has his church.

  2. I can't believe its not Zavala has her oceanside view.

  3. Disk that needs a defrag has her own ship.

  4. Osirian Fanboy that desperately wants to be the Robin to his Batman has his own damn lighthouse with a puzzle in it.

Tomorrow we get to see Ana Bray's new digs, so thats exciting enough that I use her name.

Asher? While he does have the last remaining kiosk of the Red War, which good for him I bet that was hard to loot from the tower. Can we get him some protection from that harsh environment? Seriously, the man doesn't have a ghost and now he lives in a rocky desert with naught but a metallic Ms Michigan to keep him company.

Please give Ashir a tent.

This shit post brought to you by me while I'm bored at work.

I realized I miss being a ‘Destiny Dad’

Posted: 07 May 2018 10:13 AM PDT

When my first son was born, it was the height of D1 and I spent hundreds of hours (basically every nap) in-game with my son sleeping on my chest down in our man-cave. It was a respite for mamma and honestly a break for me too. I spent most of my time on mute, but I miss those sweaty moments of action, grinding for that last chest piece or god roll Imago Loop, etc. trying not to get too excited and wake him up. I even went so far as putting some black electrical tape on my PS Gold headphone's LED so it wouldn't shine in his eyes and I could keep gaming. I cherish all the kind PUG guardians who understood why I had to be quiet and e very time I think of Crota, I don't just remember the raid and the [Un-mute->"I've got the sword!"->Mute] frantic action, but more importantly the moments I shared with him.

Now that my second son is here, I felt a void while trying to capture the same type of memories. You see, I was a day one digital deluxe D2 pre-order guy like I'm sure a lot of you. I took off work and poured some solid time into the game. Then the disinterest and frustration (that is well documented on this salty subreddit) set in and I drifted away from the game and so did my entire clan. I came back for CoO and was even more let down and switched over my (limited) free time to mostly playing The Division.

This was around Christmas and then my second son was born the end of Feb. I've only loaded up D2 a handful of times since and it was just feeling like a meaningless chore, so I'd switch back to Division or XC2 to get my fix. However, as much as I enjoy those games (and wish Bungie would learn some lessons from Massive), it just still wasn't the same as those D1 days with my first son.

That was until the week the Go Fast! update launched. I'll admit, I was a bit jaded and had nearly given up on D2, but I keep trolling this subreddit and happened to have some time so I hopped into Crucible one more time based on some of your encouraging comments. Man, was I happy I did! For the first time since launch, I had the sweaty palms and the delight of some hero moments, fighting the urge to yell and wake the baby. It still was a bit broken of course, and PVE still a bit dry, but it had me excited enough to play 'just one more round'. Follow that with the hype and positive vibe around Warmind and I'm hopeful to get back to being a Destiny dad and creating new moments with my second son.

TL;DR - I still love Destiny and I hope Warmind can bring us back around to some of the former glory of D1 and enjoying it with our young guardians

Things shouldn’t just go back to normal after the Red War.

Posted: 06 May 2018 11:01 PM PDT

We failed.

WE. FAILED.

We failed the City and we failed the Traveler,

Why should we just go in, kill Ghaul and then have the Traveler kill Super Ghaul and then have everything go back to being just peachy. The Traveler had to get off its ass and save us for the second time.

There should be elements in the game that reminds us that our Light almost went out for good. That we couldn't rise up to the challenge when the going got tough.

The Cabal still have Light-Taking tech I presume? Why not put it into something portable? Maybe give it to a badass Psion Flayer that we have to kill on occasion to get our Light back.

There should be areas where shit went so wrong that the Light couldn't go back it. Not just Darkness zones. Lightless zones. Could've been an addition to Lost Sectors. Maybe Lost Sectors turn into Lightless Zones during Flashpoints. And we kill a Light-Stealer Archon, Deathsinger, Hydra whatever to get our Light back and clear the zone. In our absence the Darkness was free to move in.

How ominous would it be if after we get our Light back and go back to kicking ass as usual and then you walk into an area with the words 'Your Light has gone out'. A 'here we go again' moment. These moments would be few and far in-between.

A dark reminder saying 'you think you can just forget what happened? The City was left to burn. People died because of you. You failed. And this System will never allow you to forget.'

Finally getting into the rhythm of PvP. Here's the tempo

Posted: 07 May 2018 07:51 AM PDT

TEMPO / テンポ

  • no annoying dubstep
  • no overly-edited teamshooting
  • short and sweet

I don't see montages around dtg as often as D1 but I decided to celebrate the all things I love about the crucible. Swords, Supers, shotguns, and snipes. Can't wait for Warmind to give us even stronger weapons and an even more better crucible!

Flashpoints should be more important.

Posted: 07 May 2018 10:05 AM PDT

The goal of the Flashpoint should be to engage players with the various activities on the weekly planet in order to provide a unique reward that goes beyond random exotic or planetary item. You can do this by providing players with a direct way to completing the Flashpoint each week.

  • Complete 1-3 Adventures
  • Complete 1-3 Lost Sectors
  • Complete 5 Patrol Missions
  • Complete 3 Public Events
  • Defeat 3 World Bosses (Lurg the Burning Shield and such)

Obviously, the numbers would change depending on the planet of the week. As I mentioned, a checklist would provide a direct way to completing the Flashpoint. Not only that, but it urges Guardians to play and engage with content they might otherwise ignore.

In addition to those changes, there are a number of things that can be added/changed that would make the Flashpoint more exciting and challenging.

  • Enemies should be harder in some areas. This includes enemies on patrols, public events and lost sectors.
  • Unique public events and patrol missions only available during the Flashpoint.
  • Replacing adventures with heroic versions.

Blowing through enemies can be fun, but I think most of us can agree that we want to be challenged from time to time. We can achieve this by adding a temporary difficulty increase to patrol areas during the Flashpoint.

Finally, the rewards during a Flashpoint should be something that makes Guardians want to grind these things out each week. The easiest way to accomplish this is for Cayde to provide us with unique rewards upon completion.

  • Unique armor + class items
  • A few unique weapons
  • Ghost, sparrow and ship
  • Emblem+variants, shader and transmat effects
  • Exotic Ace of Spades quest with medium to medium-low drop rates

These rewards shouldn't be themed to a planet, but should be associated with Cayde, which is why I included the Ace of Spades as an exotic quest. I'm not sure about the best way to hand out these rewards, but my first thought is to do it Iron Banner style by offering a certain armor or weapon reward each week. Items like the ghost, ship, sparrow and all the cosmetic stuff should be available every week through RNG. All of these rewards should be in addition to the planetary vendor gear. I don't think random exotics should be given out.

Flashpoints are a good idea, but they need to be expanded on. They need to be more than grinding out Public events over and over in order to receive Aeon Safe/Swift/Soul for the 80th time. They need to provide some sort of progression and rewards that are uniquely their own.

Cross saves or atleast, one-time character transfer between PS4-PC and XBOX-PC

Posted: 07 May 2018 01:36 AM PDT

Bungie, I know this was discussed a long time ago and was denied by the developers. But, with all the amazing changes that are set to come to Destiny 2, could you please try to reconsider this one? There's a LOT of them out there that are willing to make the switch to PC, but also don't want to lose out on everything that they've worked hard and put the time on grinding for. I, for one, had already bought the game+season pass on launch for PS4, but also got another copy of the game+season pass on PC and power levelled a hunter on PC, but I got all 3 characters on 335 on PS4, with almost everything in the game sitting in my inventory. This prevents me from enjoying the uncapped fps glory on PC. Not only that, but I miss playing with my friends on PC too.

If, in case, you decide to enable cross-saves, that'd help the game mitigate some of its issues, like matchmaking. If I can't find players on PC, I can turn on my PS4 and play on it, instead of just waiting a long time in queue.

Either ways, I think most of us would be happy if you would like to reconsider the option to enable cross-saves or a one time character transfer between PC and PS4/XBOX sometime down the road.

Bungie should eliminate generic rare and legendary sparrows and ghost shells - create a concentrated, valuable EV loot pool.

Posted: 07 May 2018 08:57 AM PDT

I wasn't so opposed to Eververse in D1 because it felt like you received somewhat meaningful rewards. You'd get a really cool sparrow (I want the one with the rainbow LEDs back), or an armor piece that makes you look like the Taken. Or a gear chroma. Or a horn for your sparrow (remember those?). And who could forget the awesome-looking ships? Yeah, you didn't always get something mind-blowing, and you didn't get them for free, but because the loot pool was small it wasn't so far-fetched to eventually get what you wanted.

In D2, Eververse is so deliberately filled with trash that you have to wade through to get something cool. I remember for the Winter event I actually bought some bright engrams because I really wanted the armor set, and my character was almost drowning in sparrows that all looked the same but had different names. Why does it have to be this way? I had to get "something" for each engram but it was so discouraging that it made me put down the game for a few weeks. The meager bright dust was no consolation.

The current implementation harms both players who invest genuine time and hard work into getting bright engrams and players who buy them. No matter what, getting low tier trash stings.

"But OP, the chromatic matrix!"

The chromatic matrix is a step for the better, but it's also ANOTHER RNG! It won't sting any less when you use your three chromatic keys or whatever they're called and get generic legendary trash with bad rolls.

"But OP, if all of EV is good we're going to run out of things to earn!"

Isn't that...isn't that the opposite of a problem? If the only reason we're playing now is to drown in blue and purple sparrows and shells that don't even look interesting, with the RARE PROMISE of an exotic or cool-looking one, then isn't that indicative of a bad system? Isn't EV SUPPOSED to be good? Maybe all the eggs shouldn't be in one basket - maybe there should be different rewards for leveling up or contributing money to the game.

How come we pretty much never get to fight alongside the main characters in the Destiny universe?

Posted: 06 May 2018 09:46 PM PDT

I feel like this is a huge missed opportunity to add some much needed character development to people like Zavala, Ikora and Cayde. I remember in CoO when Ikora finally said she would come with you to Mercury and I got pretty hyped to see her in action... but all she does is say 1 sentence, open the portal and then you leave her.

Being accompanied by these characters would at least allow them to drown you with some exposition about their past and personality so you can actually ATTACH a little to them. All they do is sit in the Farm or Tower while you run all around the system doing all the work. Aren't these guys supposed to be some of the most legendary guardians of all time? How about one of them sometimes accompany you on your missions and granting you some extra ability or buff which would allow for some experimentation and variety in the missions. How about actually running around a bit with Osiris in the Infinite Forest and while he was accompanying you, you could stop time for a short period as we see him do in the trailer. Bungie could in turn design the missions to be more challenging and require you to use this ability correctly.

I know that in the opening mission we get to see Cayde pop his Golden Gun to kill 3 basic Cabal grunts, Ikora uses her Supernova twice and Zavala tells you to run to his shield sometimes, but this really isn't enough.

I just want so badly to know more about characters like Ikora and Osiris but our only interaction is through throwing hundreds of tokens at them as they stare blankly at you and say "GUAAARDIAN? :)" The fact that the ONLY time we EVER got to see the actual real Osiris was in a short cutscene after the campaign was over made my blood boil. Bungie really have so much potential to let these characters flex a little, and I think they should.

New Ice Hive Abilities

Posted: 07 May 2018 08:35 AM PDT

So I was browsing all the gameplay I could for the Warmind DLC to see if the Hive enemies we face will be different than the normal Hive on Titan, and so far I've come up with a partial list! Here's all the new assets I found:

  • Acolyte snipers
  • Knights with shields
  • Cursed Thrall explosions slow you down (same effect as getting hit w/ Dawning snowballs)

...And that's pretty much it. Has anyone seen anything else unique? They seem to be the Hive equivalent to the SIVA fallen, with a few more gameplay-altering differences.

The cast speed/animation of Ward of Dawn needs to be buffed. A lot.

Posted: 06 May 2018 10:54 PM PDT

I'm one of the very few people who actually use Ward of Dawn in D2 and the biggest complaint for me is how unbelievably slow the animation of popping it is. Whether it's in PvP or PvE, the slow speed is a huge detriment to the super. You already have to hold down the super button longer than other supers, the animation plays the Sentinel Shield animation as well, and if you pop it in the air, it takes even longer. I don't care that there's no Weapons of Light or Blessing if Light, but this definitely needs to be changed. It won't make the subclass insanely OP, but it might make it somewhat viable.

No matter what is done with Eververse, it’s going to remain a problem until we can buy items directly.

Posted: 06 May 2018 12:30 PM PDT

D1 Eververse was acceptable, even though some items were random. But all the ornaments and tons of other neat pieces to collect were directly purchasable.

I'm all for spending money on some neat little trinket or cosmetic detail, but not when the best ones are randomized in a slot machine.

Governments are taking this seriously and starting to ban this "feature" because it's digital items with no tangible value and having a computer be the deciding factor is so shady and honestly, unethical when you put up real money.

Sure, S3 looks to change some things, but they are so small little baby steps that they are barely trying just enough to say that they are, but Bungie knows it won't make that big of a difference.

Please, for the love of god. Just let us buy things directly and allow 100% of all items in Eververse have a drop chance in activities. There should be no damn exclusives in Eververse, period.

Don't forget to re-enable the in-game music!

Posted: 06 May 2018 06:07 PM PDT

If you're like me and sometimes play with your own music ( \m/ ) you probably have the soundtrack turned off!

Remember to turn it on before Warmind so you can hear the new music on your first play through!

Anyway, Here's the clip.
