Bungie - We do not care if someone is level 30. It's time to start showing Light.

Posted: 26 May 2018 10:09 AM PDT

This has been a yearly battle back and forth. Show me the 'Light' Level instead of the base power level. Never have I looked at a group of 30's and been able to differentiate what light level they are. It's super easy to do and this QOL change could be a life saver when I don't feel like inspecting 8 people.

  • Edit #1: waiting for a reply from Bungo. Keep 'em coming.

Whoever thought moving Momentum/Inertia across to Heroic Adventures was a good idea, needs reassigning. As nightfall modifiers, they were almost universally despised. They weren't wanted there - why on earth would they benefit the adventure experience, instead?

Posted: 26 May 2018 03:54 AM PDT

As topic.

Makes an entire avenue of side content a wretched, unenjoyable chore. And to add insult to injury, some other brightspark decided to pair that with the catalyst for Huckleberry - quite literally the least reliable exotic in the game, unless you're physically atop the enemy.

This isn't funny. It's not challenging. It's not a rewarding test of skill and creativity. It's fucking annoying. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yes, we can build for permanent Momentum. No, I don't see why we should have to. Adventures shouldn't be reduced to a one-trick pony solution, and this modifier shows up waaay too often to reliably avoid while trying to turn over enough numbers to drop the catalyst.

Seriously, Bungie. I want to enjoy heroic adventures. I want them to be a beefed up, relevant challenge at cap. I want to enjoy getting my Huckleberry cat. But not like this. I don't care if someone feels bummed because their smart idea for a modifier wasn't received well. It was panned when it was part of the Nightfall. Common sense dictates that it'll be panned everywhere else, too.

This horse is long dead, guys. Lay it to rest already.

Edit: 1.0k+ - 88% Upvoted. So, just as much of an issue now as it was when Momentum was part of the Nightfall.
Simple solution, as suggested by deCarabasHJ - expand on the Five of Swords system, and provide a choice of debuff modifiers, rather than dictating on rotation.

Who's idea was it to completely neuter Iron Banner rewards in D2?

Posted: 26 May 2018 10:48 AM PDT

I mean what the hell guys? For 3 years Iron Banner was a way to rank up your character... Why did this change into the useless version of itselfnow. ROI was perfect but instead... Nah... Let's take a giant dump on everything's have done. I love the 6v6 gameplay. I hate the fact that cosmetics are the only thing that matter. I want exciting guns, I want to be rolled as a 330 by a 385 guy, but most of all I want Banner to be a top teir PVP playlist and not just another version of quickplay.

If Hawkmoon gets brought forward, can it be the non-nerfed, 1 in 2197 chance 3-stack magic bullet version?

Posted: 26 May 2018 02:53 AM PDT

Even if it is disabled in Competitive, just having a chance for the stars to align for that magic moment when you one-tap someone (or something in PvE) would be so great to have again.

I want to feel like I'm holding aces again.

Let your nightstalkers make orbs during escalation protocol

Posted: 26 May 2018 04:21 AM PDT

During the beginning of round one nightstalkers running rigs can make an incredible amount of orbs just tethering the ground over and over, this can snowball the next couple of rounds for your team if no-one kills the adds the nightstalkers tether. Also, bring void weapons PLZ.

Edit- Orbs don't last forever, but if you use your offensive super to make orbs for me (nightstalker) I can usually make a million more for you again! :)

I’m genuinely blown away by the amount of people who still don’t understand how Control works.

Posted: 26 May 2018 10:22 AM PDT

Just witnessed someone walk away from capturing B-flag in Iron Banner when the score was 115-115, and capturing it for the team would have won us the game with the extra kill points. He decided he'd rather go try kill the people in the middle of the map.

Control shouldn't be this complicated or frustrating. It's not even a design fault on Bungie's behalf that people don't understand how the game works, which makes it even more irritating. It doesn't take premade-level cooperation to capture more than one flag, and yet every other team I end up with can't manage it.

Can we please just get Clash next Iron Banner? Something so simple that one or two guys on a team who don't want to play to an objective can't fuck it up for the rest of the team.

If Elsie Bray created the Worldline Zero sword and the Vex Mythoclast maybe it is time then to bring back our favourite Primary Fusion.

Posted: 26 May 2018 07:20 AM PDT

There are a few weapons that are absolutely ICONIC to this game. And for most part when I think of Destiny I immediately think about my chase in D1 for a few of those weapons. The Gjallahorn of course is one, and the Vex Mythoclast is the other. Bungie, I feel it is a huge mistake having these guns absent from your game. I believe the player can actually feel the void that their omission leaves. Those guns existed to be chased & Youtube is full of videos regarding players reactions when they got them. I miss those days.

Anyways, so rumour has it that Elsie Bray created the Worldline Zero Exotic Sword and may be behind the Mythoclast. If that is the case then now is the perfect time to bring it back. Let those new to Destiny experience what some of us got to in D1.

Drip feeding the old Exotics back to us is... fine, I guess. But if you are going to do it then it is time to start dropping the "monsters" back on to us.

Edit: here is a video from Unknown Player regarding the speculation of Elsie Bray's contribution to the Vex Mythoclast.

https://youtu.be/AS22L69mcvM

Edit 2: from the Grimoire: "The Mythoclast is a Vex instrument from some far-flung corner of time and space, mysteriously fit for human hands. Its origins, mechanism of action, and ultimate purpose remain unknown. Perhaps it will reveal itself to you, in time..."

Hey my teammate(s) that I can clearly see watching me have a 1v2...

Posted: 26 May 2018 08:35 AM PDT

How about you help me kill the people I'm shooting instead of waiting for me die then stepping out from around the corner to clean them up.

People complain about the team shooting meta but the "I'll wait for my teammates to die then clean up the one shots" meta is way worse in my opinion.

Bungie: Why are the planet NPCs so alone?

Posted: 26 May 2018 03:02 AM PDT

Yesterday I was visiting Ana Bray to give her some sweet tokens, and suddenly I realized how empty all the NPC areas of each planet are. They have the main NPC, and that's all. It just feels lonely. Mercury is the only exception, but that's because it's a social space.

Why can't Ana Bray have a few fellow scientifics that follow her after we finish her questline? Why don't a few titans accompany Sloane in Titan?

For Failsafe it kinda makes sense not to have people around, and even for Asher cause I don't think nobody would stand being around him for more than one minute, but the rest would really benefit of having some company. While not exactly social spaces, having a few more NPCs around would make their areas seem more alive, and feel like beacons in the night in a world where you're surrounded by enemies.

I think my friend had an idea for the farm!

Posted: 26 May 2018 06:33 AM PDT

Talking about the farm recently my friend had an idea i thought was ace! (He doesn't use reddit.)

What would you think about having a vendor/representative for each of the planets scattered around at the farm so you can turn in their tokens?

Destiny 2 load-times are at best, horrendous. Having a place where we could go to hand in all our io/nessus/titan etc tokens would be cool.

It'd at least give a reason to go to the farm, and the only thing we would miss out on would be the 15minutes of loading time it takes to planet hop to do this normally due to load times.

Similar to how we use the traveler for vanguard/crucible/gunsmith tokens.

The Last Word must return.

Posted: 26 May 2018 08:21 AM PDT

Because the spike of adrenaline Crimson injects into my cornea is becoming too familiar. I can't put this decimating laser down. Graviton? HA. Goodbye. Vigilance? ZooPed. SMGs? Try Again kill clip-perky lads. Grind that catalyst and reach enlightment. It's simply a PvE and PvP exotic that is unmatched. And it leads me to believe Black Hammer is back in the game and not Black Spindle. I say that simple due to the fact: this beauty generates ammo from thin Air.

IO Blight. Why in the hell do people not understand how to make this heroic?

Posted: 26 May 2018 09:06 AM PDT

I personally prefer when exotics would drop directly

Posted: 26 May 2018 09:17 AM PDT

as the title says, i and other people agree that when loot just dropped on your screen directly after killing a boss (and especially after a crucible match in D1) it was just way more satisfying to see what everyone got than having to run back to the tower and wait to open my engram. Edit: Also allowing exotics to have a small chance at dropping (not an engram) at the end of a crucible match will encourage staying and not going to orbit (same with strikes)

Eververse was created to support free updates for Destiny. Can we get Strike/Meditation/Adventure/Lost Sector specific loot before all resources go into another massive MTX loot pool?

Posted: 25 May 2018 05:04 PM PDT

Title.

It's been almost a year and we still don't have anywhere near decent rewards for a majority of PvE activities, but 3 seasons of EV completely overflowing with loot

The Activision quarterly report said EV sales are through the roof, why can't we get loot rewards that should have been there since launch especially since they are rolling in money?

The worst part is it hurts the game 2 fold. The lack of rewards means there is tons of content nobody ever plays, and anyone who does actually play through this content gets 0 reward for their time

Bungie, with future story missions/cutscenes, please get all the tower/planetary npcs involved

Posted: 26 May 2018 08:03 AM PDT

I really don't like the whole "don't tell the vanguard" plot element that Curse of Osiris and Warmind had. Beyond being a kinda dumb idea that the rest of the Vanguard would have no idea where their god-killing hero of the tower went, it limits the story to just one or two characters. I'd love to see the planetary vendors do something outside of strike dialogue. In the main story, the coolest 2 cutscenes for me were 1st when the Cabal initally attack and you get to see Zavala, Cayde, and Ikora in action, and 2nd when we attack the city, and again, you get to see all the main npcs in action. I want to see sloan do something, I want to see devrim do something. Ana with her war mind tech can and should be treated as a valuable asset when the tower is facing whatever new threat comes this fall. Even if we're still the one who goes in and faces down the new baddie, It'll feel more like a team effort rather than one guardian on the world's longest god-killing spree. As far as I remember, Sloan, Failsafe, Asher, and Brother Vance have not been in a d2 cutscene yet. Cayde and Hawthorne haven't been in one since the vanilla campaign, and Ikora was in 2 in Curse of Osiris. Obviously Zavala was in Warmind, but iirc he wasn't in Curse of Osiris (due to the whole "don't tell the vanguard" thing).

In short, there is a really solid cast of characters, and it'd be a sign of good writing if they could all interact/ be involved in facing whatever comes next.

Exotic Masterwork Catalyst locations: updated & CORRECT

Posted: 26 May 2018 11:29 AM PDT

I've decided to make my own list of where to find exotic catalysts. I was looking for one and had while there were plenty of lists detailing what you need to do after you get the catalyst, and what the masterwork upgrade will do to the weapons, I had little success with where they came from. I thought it would be nice to have everything in one place as a resource to focus on certain activities based on what you're looking for. (All of this information comes straight from info in-game)

I'll group them by where you find them

Strikes: In strikes against the most challenging opponents"

  • Cold Heart

  • Prometheus Lens

  • Riskrunner

  • Wardcliff Coil

  • Merciless

Crucible: By earning victory in the Crucible

  • Vigilance Wing

  • Jade Rabbit

  • The Colony

By earning most glorious victory in the Crucible

  • MIDA Multi-Tool (interesting this is specific to MIDA, so it's not as simple as the other Crucible ones is my guess, so maybe Competitive only, or Trials/Iron Banner, but I have no proof of this, I'm going only by the verbiage Bungie chose)

Adventures: Through heroism in most challenging adventures

  • Huckleberry

Leviathan: By currying the Emperors favor

  • Skyburner's Oath

???

  • Worldline Zero (I've not gotten it myself, but several friends have and their feedback was simply getting kills with it. Other community feedback has been specifically on Mars, which would make sense because it's tied to Mars in the 'quest'/grind to get it)

Factions: The next 3 are the most interesting

By pledging to the defenders of earth, by pledging to the followers of war and by pledging to the seekers of exodus. I am 100% confident these pertain to the 3 factions: New Monarchy, FWC and Dead Orbit. You 'pledge' to them, and 'followers of war' & 'seekers of exodus' fit with FWC and DO exactly. 'Defenders of Earth' you have to dig a little deeper to pair it with NM, but Hideo's whole thing is to start a new Consensus, thereby transferring power from the Vanguard, whose primary function it is to defend Earth and The Last City. (Also it just stands to reason if the other two are "matched", this is the only faction left!) Lastly, these are the 3 exotic weapons you are gifted from Asher Mir, by playing through the original D2 story, which is not coincidence.

By pledging to the defenders of Earth (New Monarchy)

  • Sweet Business

By pledging to the followers of War (FWC)

  • Sunshot

By pledging to the seekers of exodus (Dead Orbit)

  • Graviton Lance

Unknown: The ones we don't know yet

  • Suros Regime

  • Rat King

  • Sturm

  • Hard Light

  • Fighting Lion

  • Prospector

  • Legend of Acrius

  • Telesto

  • Sleeper Simulant

There are 3 Masterworks I already have: - Crimson

  • D.A.R.C.I.

  • Tractor Cannon

Crimson was found by killing enemies anywhere.

I got my Tractor Cannon during a public event on Nessus. I'm not saying that's the only place. But I have read multiple people saying they got theirs on Nessus.

I forget where I got my catalyst for D.A.R.C.I., but I did research on this and the common theme was yellow bar enemies, but the location was random, so it might just be found by defeating most challenging opponents wherever they roam

Bring back warlock shoulder pads!

Posted: 26 May 2018 05:35 AM PDT

Bungie can you please bring back warlock shoulder pads with gauntlets? The idea of no shoulder pads and that of being attached to chest armor was just bad taste. The fact that none of the warlock gauntlets have them make you wonder why we even have a variety for the warlock anyways. 😂

Valkyrie style aura for the Warminded Emblem

Posted: 26 May 2018 08:06 AM PDT

I'd love for Bungie to add this aura to the emblem as I feel the grind for the sleeper nodes is too long for the rewards at the end.

Iron Banner and Trials should be influenced by Power to the degree it did for Light in D1

Posted: 25 May 2018 10:49 PM PDT

Bring it back to the good old days where your LIGHT (Power) made a difference in these event game types. Granted it wasnt a tremendous difference but it added another dynamic that was interesting. #Backwhenlightmattered (Power)

Edit: I think the majority of people here saying "no" didn't play D1. It was a negligible difference that could be felt a handful of times during several matches. It was NEVER a problem in D1 and would not be a problem now.
