I was looking at my legacy when I noticed something

Posted: 07 May 2018 06:39 AM PDT

When I played destiny I was 15 and barely into my high school a lot of my afternoons were spent playing the game with my friends online and looking back on that it was amazing three years. I looked at my legacy the first time when I started Destiny 2 I looked back on it today and saw I destroyed the black garden on Halloween and I finished the dark below on Christmas and I thought to myself I really love that game. I'm 18 looking for a job going to school and playing this game when I come home in the afternoons. I can't wait for tomorrow

The Tragedy of the war with the Cabal on Mars

Posted: 06 May 2018 10:29 PM PDT

Did you ever hear the tragedy of the war with the Cabal on Mars? I thought not. It's not a story the Vanguard would tell you. It's a Darkness legend. Valus Ta'aurc was a well protected Cabal commander, so powerful and so wise he commanded the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon.… He had such a knowledge of the Darkness that he could even create defenses that couldn't be punched through. The dark side of the Light is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing the war on Mars, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then the right team punched through those defenses, took him out, and broke his grip on Freehold. Ironic. He could defend others from death, but not himself.

Just wanted to show this, if you stuck around after the end of Destiny 2’s “Story” (campaign)

Thanks Bungie for having this on humble bundle

Posted: 07 May 2018 03:08 AM PDT

I just recently finished the main story campaign after buying the game from the humble bundle monthly. And my goodness the campaign is good. I never expected it to be that good. And even that Ghaul is suprisingly interesting. At first it's really cheesy. But towards the end it was so epic with the music and the shit that i was seeing. I never got the chance to play the 3 Halo games. But i guess this is maybe a glimpse of what they are. I can't wait doing all the other contents in this game. Just wanna give my thanks to the bungie team. I never played the first game. But im glad i bought this.

What does it take to trigger the mercy rule? or should I just leave when it's 3v6?

Destiny 2 without the DLC

Posted: 07 May 2018 06:35 AM PDT

Hey all!

As many other people, I got D2 from the Humble Monthly bundle and I'm having a *lot* of fun with it, doing adventures, the campaign and a little bit of Crucible. I'm planning to eventually get the expansions but it's beyond my budget for this month. Realistically, once I've got my main character at level 20 and a high enough (not necessarily max) Light level, what expectations should I have for endgame content? Will there be enough endgame content in DLC-less Destiny 2 to tide me over and am I pretty much locked out of all the cool stuff without it?

Thanks!

(ps, I did use the search function but couldn't find another post asking this, so I'm sorry if it's already been asked)

I'm new and have a dumb question.

Posted: 07 May 2018 09:08 AM PDT

Hello!

So I've started the campaign. Done a lot of missions so far. Got to the oil rigs missions and stopped to do the side quests and PvP. Now I don't know how to continue with the campaign. Is there a special marker that tells me where I'll find my next mission? The maps are very busy and haven't been able to find it. I'm not even sure which world to look in.
Thanks.

Edit: thank you all for replying, I got it. https://imgur.com/a/kXWIrID

Kill Clip vs Rampage

Posted: 07 May 2018 06:06 AM PDT

OK so, I came back over the weekend for the new DLC. Ran the prestige raid on both of my characters and picked up the new auto rifle (Duty Bound, which is great) for my titan.

I also use Positive outlook in the energy slot so I have been doing some comparisons with kill clip vs rampage and I'm really liking the feel of kill clip a lot more as long as the reload speed is fairly swift - especially when enemies are tougher and don't just get mown over. Parts of the nightfall - when there's a line of thralls running at you vs a few acolytes and a knight around they both get a lot of value.

I'm curious to hear if anyone else has thoughts on the two?

(my warlock is using ophidian aspect w/ better devils and inaugural address kill clip + outlaw so reloading is even faster there)

Why don't people like this game?

Posted: 07 May 2018 05:23 AM PDT

I bought destiny 2 a couple days ago from humble monthly and just hit level 20. I really love this game, it's one of the best PC shooters I've played in years (besides DOOM 2016 and Fallout 4 ofc).

The gunplay feels great, I love the loot and reward system which makes me feel like nothing I do is a waste, and I love how even if I'm level 20 everything scaled so I can play with my level 1-10 friends. Crucible is a fun, quick multiplayer mode with some cool rewards quests, and I haven't yet had micro transactions shoved in my face.

The story is there - it's not the best, but it's there, and even as someone who didn't really play D1 at all, the beginning sequence (city getting destroyed, guardian getting thrown off, and having to wander the canyons and survive) was done really well to me. The story themes of a small rogue counteroffensive are super cool to me as well.

I haven't even come close to finishing the vanilla content yet and I'm already sure that I'm going to buy the expansion.

Maybe it's just my taste includes shoot and loot or just grindy games in general (I adore fallout, borderlands, and World of Warcraft) but Destiny 2 is definitely one of the most smooth and put together game experiences I've had.
