| It's hard to play a game again after a break like a holiday/vacation Posted: 26 Apr 2018 02:28 PM PDT So i dont know if im the only experiencing this but for example i really enjoyed playing MGS5 and had a 2 week long holiday trip after playing the game like 40 hours. Although i was very excited about the trip i was also somekind of pissed because i couldnt think of anything else the first 2 days of the trip but what i would do next in the game when coming home. And when this moment finally came i was like meh... i started the game for like 1 hour and closed it again and e.g. i forgot what some of the controls where, i forgot what was the next thing to do for me and i think more than 1 year has passed since and i havent touched the game once again. The game i was once so excited about. Also the applies to other games like Fallout 4 i had a really great time with but after i had to learn for university and put the game aside, for like a month, i never touched it again Let me know your thoughts about this [link] [comments] |
| Last Epoch - depth vs. complexity Posted: 25 Apr 2018 07:53 PM PDT https://www.pcgamer.com/try-the-demo-for-ambitious-top-down-action-rpg-last-epoch/ "Where recent Diablo successors like Path of Exile have found popularity by giving players a bazillion things to customize, it sounds like Last Epoch wants to build complex systems within simple ideas." Reading this article made me think of an old Extra Credits video on balancing depth vs. complexity. What do you all think is the sweet spot for depth/complexity in systems for an Action RPG?
