Hello again, /r/smashbros! Two weeks ago, a Smash Switch character wishlist poll was hosted by the mod team of this subreddit. We got a lot of votes; over 6,500 of them!

So, without further ado, here's the full results!

You see, due to his smooth moves, good looks, and lovable attitude, Waluigi was the only character that was voted for. Yes, we did leave open slots for 5 different characters on the poll; however, why list 5 characters when you could list the only important character 5 times?

Because of these results, the mod team has made a unanimous decision to host a second wishlist poll. This poll will not include Waluigi, as the mod team is looking to keep competition fair. This also means that write-ins will not be included on this poll, as Waluigi would be written into every slot otherwise.

Storylines and Notable Results

Strong Female Showing: Female players performed extremely well at Fight Pitt 8, with Sp1nda, Mew2queen, and Genghis Connor's Nana taking home 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place respectively.

Abate vs lloD: Abate and lloD played in Winner's Quarters. Despite lloD beating Abate 3-0, lloD was then disqualified from the event as per Fight Pitt 8's Compendium Goal to Float Abate to First Place. We apologize to lloD for this, but the rules are the rules and we needed to give the people what they paid for. lloD then lost to Armada, finishing in 9th place.

Armada at 7th Place: In one of the craziest upsets of all time, Pittsburgh No Tech Skill Reddit Famous Borp beat Armada 3-0 in Winner's Quarters. After beating lloD, Armada then lost to Genghis Connor's Nana, proving that even people without tech skill and a CPU without a brain could beat the best player in the world.

Genghis Connor's Nana: Genghis Connor faced off against Gerb in Loser's Bracket in one of the most electrifying sets of Melee History. After Gerb knocked Connor's Popo away on the last stock of Game 5, Genghis Connor's Nana proceeded to 0-Death Gerb, giving Genghis Connor the victory. In pure awe, Genghis Connor agreed to DQ himself and allow his Nana to continue on without him. Genghis Connor's Nana then proceeded to beat Armada 3-0, cementing one of the most legendary runs from a CPU of all time.

Wednesday Taki: Taki was busy on the day of the tournament, so in order to accommodate him, we arranged his bracket such that his path could be played on Wednesday. However, Taki is significantly more powerful on Wednesdays, and he beat everyone in his path until he had to play Abate in Winner's Semis. Loser's Quarters was then played on Saturday, and Taki lost his magical Wednesday power.

I can't believe it, tbh. After the Great Purge of May 2018 it seemed like HBox's career was over, but the SDI > Rest combo discovery in Sm4sh made him and Puff uncontested gods in a 99% Bayometa ruled by Lima and his band of Texan Bayos. Not a fan of Lima but the synchronized dance throwdown between TX and LA was sick.

That's just the last few months, though, since the real story here is how Reggie just dropkicked everybody IRL and made GFs for free. Then he took off the suit.

You can tell he really wanted it from here after he 3-0'd Wrath's Bayo. I thought Crunch was going to mid-set coach HBox after Reggie tied the set but Reggie just threw the chair at him, set the game to three stocks, and JV4'd with his patented Tatsu > Tatsu > Tatsu > Tatsu combos that HBox had no answers for this time. He held it in his back pocket the whole time.

It's a shame Reggie's thuggery caused the VODs to be deleted. You guys missed what was surely the greatest set of Smash in human history.

The Russian Smash Scene has banned Bayonetta.

I'm not a top player, and i wouldn't dare presume that i'm as knowledgeable as a top player, and i apologise in advance to Leffen if this comment incites him to make an angry tweet proving me wrong, but the TO of our tournaments has posted this in our facebook group:

Translation:

"From now on, the Bolshoi Pobeda Smash tournament hosted on April 17th will have the character Bayonetta banned. She's too strong compared to other characters. And that would be fine, as it was with 1.1.4 Sheik, but Bayonetta, unlike Sheik, is way too easy to play as. Our scene has no good players, really, and letting such a character be played in our region would make every match into a duel between Bayonetta and Bayonetta. For example, our best player that goes by the names Papaj2p and JimJamFlimFlam(he said it's not his name or something, I don't remember why), since the release of Bayonetta has won 2 of our tournaments, and before that he couldn't even get into Top 8.

That's why, because of her toxic nature and her gay little combo, Bayonetta is banned starting from April 16th."
