| Posted: 26 Apr 2018 04:04 PM PDT Heya everyone,
Prior to the release of v3.6 we found an issue with the Survive the Storm mission, by fixing that we inadvertently caused Husks to only attack Generator A even if the other generators have been placed. The best thing to do is build a basic defense around other placed generators and focus most of your attention on Generator A. Keep an eye on the in-world health bar as only Generator A health is displayed in the objective list and note that the Husks will travel down a more predictable path that allows you to plan accordingly.
There is also a small chance that Husks spawn directly on other active generators which causes them to be destroyed at a rapid rate. Be sure to watch out for this and rebuild those defenses quickly so you don't lose the objective. Unfortunately, we won't be able to fix this before the event ends on Tuesday. We're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused! [link] [comments]

| Epic, you NEED to give us a better warning of what element husk is coming Posted: 26 Apr 2018 05:07 AM PDT I cant believe we still have to ask for this. It does not take long for elements to become a crucial part of the game. An announcement that is displayed very briefly is not enough, especially when the announcements can be easily mixed up with encampments or siphons. There has to be something added so you can see what element a particular storm is going to be whenever you want. The fact that a nature smasher can destroy an entire side of tier 3 metal walls covered with a BASE should be reason enough to make sure we know what we are dealing with. Sticky grenades are cool and all (/s) but can we please get updates that are actually useful to gameplay? [link] [comments] | ||
| I Feel There Is An Unspoken Rule With Outlanders... Posted: 26 Apr 2018 12:58 PM PDT So, I play a lot of different classes but I pretty much play the constructor 90% of the time. There is one thing that stuck out to me with Outlanders. Why is it when the lama burst the Outlander isn't given the rare items? (Obsidian, Shadowshard, etc) It's always a jump to take it from them and then spam click the resources? I have no issue with Outlanders and I certainly don't plan on bad mouthing any of them. I feel there is an unspoken rule where they should be able to pick those up versus the "quick let me grab it first" mentality by players who jump in the center. To the Outlander's out there who are kind enough to drop lamas for me while I build, thank you tons! I don't get it often, but there are some great players out there who share the brick and metal from it. 😄 [link] [comments] | ||

| Bacon And You! (A Complete Bacon Guide) Posted: 26 Apr 2018 03:10 PM PDT So let me start off by saying I am no Whitesushi . My formatting might not be the best and there might be some errors. Also this will probably be a rather long post so I will do my best and TLDR it at the bottom. With the recent update to bacon(50% moar!) I had several questions.
Well, with several hours of testing in the field, looting hundreds of items 100+ times I have some data. This may be anecdotal, you may not get the same results and this is a slightly small sample, but I consider it to be more accurate than not. I was not using an outlander with loot find. I wanted my data to be as normal as possible. I was using a standard soldier with no +loot chance bonus I didn't see any changes in items that could drop bacon. Everything that could before still drops bacon normally. I did however notice that it seems items that only drop 1 bacon prior to the update now have a chance to drop 2. The way I see it is the range has been increased and it rounds up. For example : Item x only drops one bacon prior to patch. After patch item x can now drop 2(50% of 1 is .5, if you round it up that's 1. 1+1 = 2). Every item that only dropped 1 bacon for me prior to this patch now drops at most 2(from my study) but is rather rare.
There you have it! Now you know what to keep an eye out for or prioritize when you go looting. To give you an example of how I did this research, I simply looted just about everything possible in every kind of zone. When an Item gave bacon I marked what gave it and how much. I would continue searching just about everything in every zone to find out what did and didn't drop bacon until I searched 100 of every item that dropped bacon to get an accurate number on the chance and min-max amount of bacon obtained. TLDR: For quick easy bacon smash doghouses(Found by houses/outside) and loot the Can o' Meat(Found on the edge of the map where all the rocks are) commonly found in suburbs. [link] [comments]
| [rant] Stop putting me in the same game over and over when I leave the lobby. Posted: 26 Apr 2018 03:06 PM PDT So I'm sitting here right now trying to find a game to play in a level 70 4 player match because it's the only one on the map right now that matches my main quest progression. Unfortunately it's also an alert for a an epic weapon. The first game it dropped me in had two level 40 players, a twitch soldier and snuggle specialist sarah. I left, because I'm not carrying people who aren't appropriately levelled for the area. Now I'm sitting on the same lobby over and over, watching the chat as one begs for resources and the other asks if he should evolve any of his traps. A level 36 outlander joined shortly after I did. "Fuck it" I say, I'll enter the game. I have no other choice apparently, so I bring my constructor and get to work. The outlander notices I'm building outward slanted roofs, and tells me I'm an idiot I should be building a pyramid. On a 3x3x2 objective. The soldier asks if I have any malachite, because of course he does. I ignore the soldier while watching the outlander edit all my roofs. I decide to let him figure out on his own why a pyramid won't work in that configuration. I build a trap tunnel at a chokepoint, with wall launchers knocking the husks off the edge of the map. At this point the ninja decides to make herself helpful by building walls at the opposite side for me with what appear to be grey, unlevelled wooden wall spikes. How thoughtful. I drop my BASE at another chokepoint that's likely to see a lot of traffic, so it can passively repair any damage and collect the kills for shockwave. Now the ninja has decided to camp it for free recycling resources. He's going to be waiting a while, as my constructor does not have the recycling perk but this doesn't put him off from waiting for the remaining duration of the countdown. The soldier meanwhile, having received no free malachite from his fellow players decides to try a new tactic - He'll trade malachite for a level 82 nocturno, a feat that seems pretty impressive given that he's going to need the malachite to craft in the first place. (Spoiler: I checked his schematics on stormshield.one and he doesn't have nocturno) Eventually the mission begins and the outlander dies pretty much immediately. The soldier concludes that the best strategy is to run away and sits at the opposite side from where the enemies are spawning and pick off what little of the horde trickles around to him. The ninja continues to stare intensely at my BASE in the hopes of catching it trying to do a sneaky recycle. I do my best, but alas I'm just not strong enough to completely solo a 4 player difficulty mission and I don't have the time to prepare the kind of trap configuration required to compensate for these people. We lose after around 4 minutes and the outlander blames everyone else. Please Epic, either let me filter low levels out of matchmaking or don't put me into a lobby that I've already left. | Discussion: Ninja double-jump buff helps melee out, but I think melee is still far too weak. Posted: 26 Apr 2018 12:50 PM PDT Even with a sword with critical damage and chance rolls, and a ninja you still get yourself shredded by hordes+bees+gas+lasers+bones, and mist monsters will just tank it and pound/blast you. Doesn't make sense to put lots of points in fortitude, offence, and resistance to make melee viable. The melee specials are also not very useful since Ninjas use a lot of energy for abilities, and generally have low cool downs... and they are just not very useful. Melee needs to have defensive buffs and/or damage buffs; I'd especially like to see longer melee range or increased movement when swinging a weapon. [link] [comments] | ||

| Mini bosses might have something to do with Re Rolls. Posted: 26 Apr 2018 08:06 PM PDT What I am thinking is that.
This will make mini bosses more fun and exiting to kill. This will also make it harder to farm the resource instead of buying it from the event store. [link] [comments]

| Feeding the constructor, excess mats given to base Posted: 26 Apr 2018 10:53 AM PDT Being a constructor ( when I can stand it ) I hate using my mats to build the base while the rest of the team go farm and get blu glow ect. The problem is that barely anyone drops the basic mats needed for a constructor to do their job; yet they happily leave a trail of metal ect as they farm. My idea is to get a constructor as main and create an outlander card as support with ' feed the big guy ' as his support perk. This would allow the constructor to lay down his base and collect all the excess metal, brick and wood that is left over from others farming at the beginning of a mission. It would really take the sting out of those players that take from the base, the recycling perk is horribly accessible to everyone and a huge knock for this class. At the moment being a constructor is very much a burden, make it fun. [link] [comments] | ||

| Suggestion: New 'Reputation' Based System for StW Posted: 26 Apr 2018 12:56 PM PDT Clearly there's been a LOT of people up in arms about the massive influx of players who are griefing, intentionally sabotaging missions, holding missions 'hostage' while demanding materials, full on AFKing or leeching, etc. As a long time Paragon player, I have to say that EPIC had running on Paragon was nearly flawless. [See: http://paragonhelp.epicgames.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2354199-player-rating-system ] The below text is taken from Epic Games 'Paragon Support Centre'. "Choose how you would like to rate the player in the resulting menu. You can use this menu to report negative behavior or applaud positive behavior. The available rating options are as follows: Abused Communication, Abandoned Team, Intentionally Sabotaged, Cheated, Mismatched. Morale Booster, Team Player, Teacher, Strategist, Pro." Honestly, if you guys brought this system over to Save the World it would be a huge help in alleviating some of the frustration with not even being capable of marking serial offenders for others to avoid in the future. I even suggest making your 'Player Rating' a thing that can be viewed by other parties in the pre-game lobby. I know that there's a small potential for this to be abused (false negative reports) but honestly it's not like you're going to have 3 people every mission reporting you when you were ACTUALLY participating and sharing in the mission responsibilities without abusing communications. Sure it may happen on occasion, but the likelihood even then is quite low. In my honest opinion, I think having a view-able player rating would help people stop being disrespectful in the chat/afking missions/etc. because they will know that other's can see a reflection of their overall behaviour. Now I'm not suggesting 1 or 2 or even 3 downvotes should affect your rating much at all - especially if they are very drastically skewed towards player upvotes. But when certain players are getting 10-20+ downvotes in a matter of 24-48 hours, you should know to look into their behaviour. I would suggest that the first 10-20 times you receive a rating, that these ratings are used to get an average. After that point, the system would continue as normal. The reason I suggest this is so that nobody gets unlucky enough to be wrongfully downvoted on their first game or two, forever dooming them to be seen as a player with little to no reputation (if not negative reputation). And again, just like Paragon you guys actually did this! I remember reporting somebody post-game for abusing communications after they made racist remarks about another player and then told me to kill myself... and a week later I received a pop-up on login that said; "We've recently taken action against a player that you reported for inappropriate behaviour. Thanks for helping to keep Paragon a fun, friendly, and inclusive community!" You could go as far as to offer unlockable Icon's for reaching certain Tier's of the reputation system or for having received a large number of upvotes for a specific behaviour (a graduation hat icon for someone who receives 'teacher' 100 times?) Now, if someone is perpetually displaying negative behaviours - I believe after a certain threshold (x%?) they should have their icon set to a warning sign that clearly identifies that they are a serial offender. Players in-game should be given the option to 'vote to kick' players who enter their game who have the warning sign icon. Outside of the obvious reasons that this reputation system would allow you to avoid potential serial offenders before having to engage with them at all - it doesn't address what happens when somebody joins mid-mission and begins to misbehave or not participate. Using the reputation system, players could be more likely to match with players of a similar reputation level. Technically, this means that offenders will be more likely to match with other offenders, and team players will be more likely to match with other team players. This system would still allow offenders to come back out of the red so to speak if they finally have seen the error of their ways. They can simply choose to begin playing properly together and learn what teamwork is in order to rack up enough positive ratings to bring themselves out of the red. Vote to Kick is dangerous, and it's why I think it should only be allowed as an option when a player who is marked as a serial offender enters your mission. I believe this to be entirely fair - 1 rotten apple should NEVER be allowed to spoil the bunch. And as a side-note, a MUCH simpler way to reign in on the ill behaviour of some of these players is thus; Make mission rewards reflect personal mission scores. Honestly, if I were a leecher/afk/etc, and I knew I was barely going to get anything out of this mission if I don't help out I'd either start helping out or stop bothering to join matches just to AFK. It's all about supply and demand... the leeches demand free st00f, and you keep supplying it (at the expense of the legitimate players materials/time/effort). Cut them off, and the leeches will stop suckling. edit: Anyone kind enough to format this a bit? Looked fine when typing it up on my phone but it just came out as an ugly wall of text. | I've found my new hobby in Fortnite. Posted: 25 Apr 2018 09:01 PM PDT I keep asking for invites to trade with people spamming the chat, and when I enter their match and they want me to go to their little scam-hut with a window in the middle I just play dumb and say idk what that is, I do EVERYTHING to stall them, just to keep them out of chat. I've made it my duty to join scammers and keep them busy. Yesterday I spent 55 minutes in some dudes storm shield refusing to go into his hut to trade. And I never trade them, when they get tired of me I just leave and find my next chat-spamming-victim. I can feel their frustration when they can't persuade me to come into their hut, they try everything they can to convince me 'that's how everyone trades'. I hope I can clear up chat for you guys one scammer at a time. In total I've done this to about 40 people so far. God I love this game. Edit: Okay so I've got my PC now and decided to update the post with some more info, typing on the phone takes forever. What I do is I look for people in the chat who wants to trade (preferable "my base only" kind of people) I tell them sure invite me. When I join them I try to figure out whether they will try to scam me or not by looking at their PL, what kind of weapons they have, how they want to do the trade etc and then I just play dumb, I ask them why they're running away from me if they wanted to trade, of course they're running to their trade-hut and want me to follow but I say no, you wanna trade or not? And I just keep on talking as much as I can to keep them away from spamming the chat with "trade?" "trade? my base" "anyone trade?" etc etc. This has been going on for to long without EPIC's attention so I've decided to take matters into my own hands. For every minute I keep them in their base with me one less person is spamming that damn Fortnite chat. The longer I can keep them there, the funnier it is, sometimes they kick me straight away, and sometimes they literally do ANYTHING they can to get their hands on my weapon. As per usual once their hut-scam isn't working they back off and drop their weapon expecting me to drop mine, my reaction is to just stand there or just run a different direction, one time the dude started running after me and FORGOT that he dropped his weapons, so of course I picked them up and he started to panic and demanded them back, to which I replied "I thought you wanted to trade" and of course he dropped the rest of his stuff and I dropped mine and thanked him for the trade (this whole process took about 40-45 minutes) and I didn't see his face in chat again since. Some people wanted me to post videos, so I'm uploading a video to Youtube and will link to it once it's done (about 1½ hours with my connection). The footage is unedited and the whole video lasts about 15 minutes of me just playing stupid and annoying before he realizes (I think?) that I'm trolling and he kicks me. I have some video editing programs on my PC so when I have the time I'll just make a compilation or just cut out the 'boring' parts to make it seem interesting but for now that video will have to do! I'm gonna keep doing this until EPIC solves this problem! Down with the trade-spammers! Edit2: Something messed up during the upload from my Ps4 to Youtube so I had to download Sharefactory and render the movie and now upload it to Youtube, sorry about that but it's on it's way! Edit3: Here we go https://youtu.be/9iVeU_3vGP0 Edit3.1: I know I didn't censor any names this time (didn't have access to the video on my PC, hope this isn't a problem), in the future all names will be covered. But I want you to keep in mind this guy has NOT scammed me, therefore he has done nothing wrong! The purpose of the video is not proof that he has or even would have scammed me, all suspects are innocent until proven guilty (joking aside lol). No but seriously I don't want to start a witch hunt or anything against someone who hasn't done anything , even if he would if given the chance he still hasn't so I hope it won't be a problem posting the uncensored video this time!
