Rimworld bravely faces the problem of unsatisfying marital sex. No sugar coating.

Nobody hurts my piggos and gets away with it.

Posted: 26 Mar 2018 09:14 PM PDT

In game, I rescued a pawn (I already forgot her name) and decided to nurse her back to health from two drug addictions, she was bedridden the entire time. So, the first thing she does upon being able to walk, is have a mental break (She was just on free time the entire time???) and slaughter my prized colony pig. So you know what I do after she did that? I put her in one of the sterile rooms, anesthetized her so she couldn't move and burned her to ash with an incendiary grenade. If the flames didn't hurt, the superheated air (220+C) did.

Now her ash returns to the field so my tatos may prosper and feed piggos, so they may grow strong to replace my original pig.

Don't fuck with my pigs.

My 8 year old colony that is ready to be abandoned.

A Tornado!? Hope it doesn't land near my base!

Is that a challenge?

Poor permadeath colony. No components or money. Caravan stops in. 'Hey, Randy Has His Moments...'

What to do with a pawn that has a shattered pelvis?

Posted: 27 Mar 2018 12:50 AM PDT

I've already taken his bionic leg and eye, as well as one of his kidneys and lungs. What do i do with him? I'm torn between throwing the poor fucker into a cryptosleep casket, or just harvesting/euthanizing him. He's not very good at anything either.

Am I behaving up to RimWorld standards?

Posted: 26 Mar 2018 01:59 PM PDT

I'm on my second colony (first after the tutorial) and everything was going fine. I however came across with a sealed ancient whatever full of mechanoids. I tried to kill them just to find my colony wasn't ready for such battle yet.

While I was trying to improve the colony and get ready a huge caravan with tons of goods decided to visit me and by any luck they moved really close to the area where the mechanoids were. The plan was set. My best worker quickly demolished a wall and fled the scene, leaving the visitors to fight the creatures. They did quite well I must say. They killed the creatures for me while all of them got killed or injured. I just had to go capture the few injured survivors and collect all the goods they dropped.

In a single action I killed those beasts, grabbed a good amount of goods and made some good prisoners to recruit or sell into slavery.

Armor science

Posted: 26 Mar 2018 06:54 PM PDT

Time for more science. This was inspired by that discussion on ludeon forums, which still left me with some questions.

So, is it really better to wear a duster with an armor vest, instead of power armor?

In the duster test I used items that have at least 50% sharp armor, because that is the highest value before the chance to reflect the hit kicks in. That's legendary hyperweave button-down shirt (50.4%), legendary armor vest (126%), superior hyperweave duster (52%).

shirt armor vest duster torso
damage taken 10 5 2 5

In the power armor test I replaced the duster and vest with legendary power armor (136.5%).

shirt power armor torso
damage taken 10 5 8

The test subject was shot by a sniper rifle. After each single shot the save was reloaded to prevent armor damage from affecting the results.

Conclusion: dusters are generally better indeed. Power armor protects the neck and limbs, though.

The chance to reflect hits is surprisingly effective. The armor takes the same damage you see in the tables, while the damage to the pawn is simply discarded. If the damage is reflected, blood pools appear even though the pawns are not injured.

Just came up with a new way to clear foliage

Posted: 26 Mar 2018 07:29 PM PDT

Controlled burns don't work for you? Maybe you have a wooden house and creating a fire break would be too much of a pain, or you just don't like all the dead trees. Or maybe it's raining all the time and you just can't get a burn going.

Just found out trees will die after spending enough time under a roof. So basically just build wooden pillars where you want to clear, and roof the whole area, then wait for everything to die. Takes a while, but no burnt trees, and no risk of burning your shit down.

Decided to save a fleeing refugee and take on the easy tribals behind her..

Posted: 26 Mar 2018 10:25 AM PDT

She wound up being unskilled in everything but melee, and is incapable of any skilled labor. I sentenced her to a life of cleaning and hauling and named her "Punch Maid." She's also a cannibal and steals raw human meat from my kibble-making supply. My SO is watching me play and she's his favorite pawn
