It's been 398 days since the attack on Numbani.

Posted: 29 Mar 2018 05:34 AM PDT

Over a full year, yet the workers in the city of Numbani have yet to clean up and fix the airport. We are still having to deal with destroyed OR-15s and damage to the facilities.

How can a city take pride in itself; if it can't even fix one thing. There has been no progress or updates when the airport will be functioning or repaired.

Please Blizzard and Jeff Kaplan can we get an update for when Numbani will be fixed.

Overwatch Patch Notes – March 29, 2018

Posted: 29 Mar 2018 11:14 AM PDT

I think I have a "Hello!" problem.

Posted: 29 Mar 2018 10:02 AM PDT

I've been in denial for too long but I need to admit this. I hope I can help inspire other addicts seek help with it.

I can't quit it. Every time I start a match my hands are shaking to Hello. In prep phase I'll have already said Hello! for about 8 times. I say Hello! whenever I get a kill, Hello! whenever I get healed, rezzed, whenever I take the objective.

I start sweating out cold if I go without a Hello! for more than 10 seconds. Sometimes they say it back, sometimes they tell me to shut up, sometimes even enemies respond to it. I bound left click to Hello! and my primary fire is currently unbound. I've already memorized each and every hero's Hello! quotes.

For any other addicts other there - please find help. I've lost over 1000 SR and currently sitting in Bronze helloing my 5 DPS team. None of them respond back. There's no hope for me but you can always make it.

My FAKE Overwatch Archives Leak

Posted: 29 Mar 2018 12:25 PM PDT

Edit: This was a personal creative fun project to test out skills; not intended to fool people; hence "fake" in the title.

LINK TO IMAGE: https://imgur.com/a/CpFs0

I decided to create my own Overwatch Archives Leak. I started making the leak a few weeks ago before any of the ideas surrounding the name "Archives" started; seems my name was lucky.

In my leak, I created new ideas concepts and skins for the event. I decided to release the image, not 100% finished; clear on the Ana skin, as I wanted to get it out before any more information on the actual event was revealed.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

New Uprising Teaser has Blackwatch Logo in the background!

Posted: 29 Mar 2018 09:03 AM PDT

Hey all!

Just recently, the PlayOverwatch Twitter along with many other regional accounts tweeted out this Uprising teaser.

Now, this teaser may look oddly familiar - because it is... Last year, the same Twitter accounts posted this teaser, which we now know was a hint towards the Overwatch Uprising...

However, there are some differences.

  • Firstly, the date - it now reads April 10
  • Secondly, the logo has been changed from the Overwatch Logo in last years teaser to what I assume is the Archives logo. (It looks very much like an A to me...)
  • Thirdly, the Blackwatch Logo appears very briefly in the new teaser 7 seconds in to the video
  • Fourthly, this is something somewhat outside of the video - the title of the video says "Save the Date! | Overwatch Archives Returns Apr 10"..
  • To conclude, there appears to be one more thing, a "glitch" effect is applied to the text around 3 Seconds in and for a brief second, the date entered changes from "7 Years ago" to "8 Years ago", the File number changes from "00382" to "00274" and the security clearance goes from " Confidential" to "Classified". The file name changes too, to something, "Blackwatch ::::::::::::". Check it all out here

Give Reinhardt stun/knockback resistance and higher priority with his abilities.

Posted: 29 Mar 2018 12:33 PM PDT

I'll come out and say I've been a Rein main since beta, so this may come off as biased, but I've played in top 500 and GM for a few seasons as well (still maining rein, but flexing a bit) so I also speak as an experienced player who knows the game and meta well. From beta until now the game has changed a lot, and I'll speak on a few ways it affected Reinhardt particularly and what I'd love to see changed to make him feel better to play. To clarify - I'm not saying Rein is bad. He's just less fun to play now, and also worse than he was, so i'll try to touch on some of the reasons why.

With the introduction of new heroes, it has been a trend that every single one has in some way countered Rein. Beginning with Ana and her anti-heal (in fairness, this counters all tanks), but then came Sombra. She was always annoying for Rein since hack cripples him more than any other hero in OW. A hacked Rein is easy to kill and almost useless. Sombra hasn't been very meta, but she's coming back in a big way and hack is stronger than it was, to the point where a Rein can be hacked by a Sombra who is standing still in the path of his charge before he can grab her. Her ult is also a massive counter to Rein in that it destroys his shield and silences him.

Then came Orisa, probably the biggest reason why Rein struggles to find a foothold in the meta, with her buffed shield (and winston's) she's about as durable and mobile as Reinhardt is in any practical application, and she's able to shoot and use other abilities while behind her barrier as well. If that wasn't enough, her defensive options and her halt counter Rein in the most direct way possible. Then came Doomfist, another nail in the coffin of Rein counters who can just displace Rein and knock him around so he can't reliably shield his team. His rocket punch also collides with Rein, being the second hero in a row to now contest Reins charge where before it was only another Reinhardt that could.

Then Moira, not a notable counter in any sense, but with her came two new abilities that straight up go through barriers. Not a counter to Rein directly, but the introduction of more abilities that just bypass barrier is unsettling. And finally, the truest nail in the coffin, Brigitte. My god, she counters the hell out of Rein. She can, as a support, 1v1 him if she's smart about her shield bashes and flail whips to keep him at bay while she gets regen ticks in. In a team setting she can just walk up to his shield and easily stun him to force it down and put his team in peril. The biggest issue is how insanely spammy it is. I was doing some quick play the other night and I had my earthshatter intterupted by brigitte shield slam 3 times in a row and not because she intentionally did so, but because she just generally is free to spam the absolute fuck out of shield bash while in front of Rein.

Rein has always been the barrier guy, but the restriction to having a shield in front of him has been that he can't do anything else. First orisa and now brigitte get the functionality of a shield in front of them with the additional benefit of being able to perform useful actions while still having the shield deployed, including a spammable 5 second cooldown stun that goes through Rein barrier.

So those are the new heroes, but lets take a moment to revisit the old. Junkrat has become more meta and more mobile and he does and always has shredded Rein barrier. Roadhog and D.va also got buffs that allow them to shred Rein barrier. So has Bastion, and soon to come Reaper.

The meta has shifted in such a way that makes Rein's barrier easy to shred and the role that Rein fills is filled equally or better in most situations by Orisa. With the introduction of Brigitte, I can not imagine Rein hanging around in the meta much at all, but even if he does I'd reiterate the primary point I originally made in that Rein just feels less fun now.

So what do I propose?

There are a few ideas I'd like to see tested. The first, and one I'm the most confident would work, is a decreased delay between Rein's shield coming down and it beginning to recharge. I'd also like to see it begin to passively recharged if deployed and not sustaining any damage for X seconds. I'd also like to try out firestrike recharging X shield hit points upon succesfuly dealing damage.

The second idea I'd want to see tested is a change in ability priority interaction between Rein and other heroes. I believe that when Rein is using any ability he should get resistance to knockback effects. This means any sort of lucio boop, flail whip, zarya m2, pharah primary fire, junkrat fire, etc. There is an excessive ammount of knockback effects that makes playing Rein an absolute headache especially when you're trying to use earthshatter and charge in particular. What I'd propose is something like 50% knockback resist when using any ability (including barrier shield), and a greater knockback resist when charging.

I'd also propose that shield blocks more than just bullets, but it will block other effects such as brigitte's shield bash or doomfist's rocket punch. There's simply too many abilities that can effect Rein through his barrier now. I think that ability interaction could afford to be revisited as a whole when it comes to CC effects colliding and which take priority or cancels out. Two heroes come to mind that should have greater priority imo - Reinhardt while charging, and Doomfist while using rocket punch. Briggite shield bashing should not be among these.

I'd also want to see charge make Reinhardt immune to CC entirely. I know that sounds powerful, and it is, but my lord it's really hard to actually land a charge anymore. Not only do you need to be extremely precise with the tiny hitbox, but you also need not to get hacked, stunned, silenced or interrupted or have your charge target zarya shielded or all the while. Charge is already high risk in that you have to displace yourself entirely while doing it and put yourself in a risky position on a succesful pin or not.

I envision Rein as a juggernaut who is limited in movement and any sort of ranged option, so when he gets close or throws out an ability he shouldn't be so easy to shut down. At the least, a stunned or hacked Rein during charge could afford to keep some sort of forward momentum instead of stopping dead in his tracks especially when he can't even stop himself willingly. Instead a stun on Rein during a charge could force him to drop any target he has held, but continue forward a certain distance. Any target he collides with can not be picked up or pinned, but will bounce off of him and take minor damage.

TL:DR: Rein's shield needs to recharge quicker to keep up with the buffed Orisa/Winston shields, and with the abundance of CC effects in the game he could use some sort of resistance and increased priority on his abilities, especially toward effects coming from the front of his shield such as Briggite shield bash.

We Need a “Sorry!” Button...

Posted: 29 Mar 2018 09:34 AM PDT

There have been many situations where I want to say sorry to squad-mates, especially as a healer main. I might be totally alone here but I think that would be a good addition to the game. But only so that your squad-mates can see it to avoid its use for trolling purposes. I don't really want to deal with eight year olds on voice chat.

Widowmaker's soft side, Chloé Hollings: "A selfie is a hug, an autograph is a conversation"

Posted: 29 Mar 2018 08:57 AM PDT

Ana should get the same scope ramp up as Widow but instead of giving more damage, it should allow to pierce your heals through allies

Posted: 29 Mar 2018 04:12 AM PDT

I don't play Ana much, but 90% of the time something goes wrong, it's because I shot the wrong thing. It would be great if by charging my scoped shot I could heal a few teammates at once if they are all in the LoS of my shot. This change could allow Ana to shoot enemies even if allies are in their face, or to finally be able to heal that one faraway tracer behind your tanks. It should only allow for ally piercing though, not enemies. With a limit of 3 or something.

Thanks for reading!

Geguri makes her OWL debut next week as the first female professional. I would like to extend a message to her from the community!

Posted: 28 Mar 2018 06:43 PM PDT

DO YOUR DAMN THING!

Apparently she recently expressed some insecurities about her looks. I believe I speak for the vast majority of the OWL fan community when I say that we are not concerned with how you look, we just want to watch you play.

For those who don't know, Geguri is so good that she's caused high level players to quit overwatch altogether. I would provide a link, but I am very lazy. I hope that the Overwatch community is up to the task of making her feel welcome.

Edit: I removed my previous edits because, what's the point? People are always going to try and look for something negative to say. I made this post to support her and let her know that I, as well as many others, are excited to watch her play. I doubt she will ever see this, but if she does, I hope that she sees the amount of positivity and support she has from the community. This was my second reddit post ever, and most likely my last...
