FREE coaching for herald to ancient players!

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 05:28 PM PST

Hi everyone, I'm offering a free live coaching session on my twitch channel to try to help players to improve. Simply follow my channel and just mention yourself in the chatroom.

I'm a divine 3 player from Australia looking to help lower rank players to improve and hopefully get to divine level at some point! I've been playing Dota since Dota 1 and I watch a lot of competitive games in my spare time. Currently I'm trying to climb to the leaderboard ranking.

New players are all welcome to ask me anything too! You can ask me anything about the game and I'll try my best to answer you with everything I know about this game. I can also watch one of your replay and give my opinion on it.

PM me if you have any other special request and I'll try my best to accommodate it.

Looking for people to improve with

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 08:02 PM PST

Hi, I have been playing Dota 2 for a while and I can't seem to improve. I am currently Crusader 2 and I would like to at least be Archon. So I am looking for people around my rank to learn the game and improve with. I prefer playing with other people, I find it more fun.

Here is my dota buff: https://www.dotabuff.com/players/107725074

Have a good day all! =)

How does the Bounty rune change impact roaming supports?

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 01:42 AM PST

  • Bounty Rune no longer gives XP.

Lets take the case of heroes like BH, ES and Pudge all of which I quite enjoy playing as a roaming 4. Generally you could just roam around collecting bounty runes to get levels in the early laning phase, but since that isn't possible anymore, what are you supposed to do? How would one get adequate levels on a roaming support? I guess this does mean failing ganks is a lot more punishing than before. Would static laning supports become more viable instead of full-out roamers? Would be cool to know if anyone figured that out yet.

Question about Necrophos

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 10:34 AM PST

Is Heartstopper Aura HP Removal or "Negative Regeneration"? The gamepedia and liquipedia are giving me differing answers. I tried testing it in-game, and when I approached Axe, his displayed health regen didn't change at all. I also read that Heartstopper won't put Blink Dagger on cooldown, which leads me to a secondary question: Does HP Removal not interrupt blink dagger?

I'm gonna be uncomfortable until I figure out the answer to this.

Edit: I found out HP Removal doesn't trigger on-damage effects so that answers my blink dagger question. I also found this on the Gamepedia:

2 Heartstopper Aura was supposedly changed to be negative regeneration. However, as evidenced by the game files, its damage type is still pure, flagged as HP Removal.

As far as I'm concerned, Gamepedia is now slightly more reliable as a reference source than Liquipedia.

Wonder how we weren't able to finish this game (and lost)

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 05:59 PM PST

Hello!

https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3760228265 Last night I had this game where I played as SF (for practice), and I'm still wondering how I wasn't able to finish the game despite having an advantage from early to mid game. Eventually, when late-game started my magic nukes became useless (so many disables). It is my fault, since I didn't buy BKB.

The only thing I'm wondering is how our team REALLY fell off late-game even though we had a Spectre.

Is it mostly my fault, and why? Feedback would be appreciated.

If you keep play, does the rank rise?

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 10:19 AM PST

or is there a "Bronze Hell" from lol that you can never crawl out?

I'm at my calibrating matches, and I'm really worried if my initial rank might be low.

Top Tier Offlane Heroes?

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 04:16 PM PST

New player here, what does position 3/4/5 do?

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 11:25 AM PST

To my understanding, position 1 is the carry and position 2 is usually the midlaner, so what does position 3/4/5 do? I think I play mostly position 5 with wardbitching and all, but does position 3/4 also buy wards/tomes and stuff?

1k MMR Reaply Coaching request by snakehandler (Shadow Shaman, support)

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 01:08 PM PST

Hi guys

I picked this game because it was a great one to talk about moral support. What i mean by that is the way support often stand around in lane not really doing anything. They make the core feel safer but long term they soak XP and give the enemy an advantage.

So discuss guys. Feedback, and points I missed most welcome. One thing I'd encourage is discussion on items. Overall j think the late game build was ok, maybe a glimmer to break their initiation but Zeus needs that s little. Could have doubled the video length comparing items.

Positioning on 'static' carries

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 02:20 AM PST

Hello,

I've got some questions about static carries. Normally, when I play heroes such as weaver, qop, pa, storm or broodmother I dominate the game. That's largely due to me being able to run in the fight and use my MS or skills to position myself better.

However, I notice that when I play static carries, such as Sven, Jugg, Wraith King, Lifestealer etc., I kinda get kited most of the fights. Can anyone give me some advice on how I should position myself when playing these 'static' carries?

Even though I do win most games with these heroes, it kinda annoys me to not have the contribution I should have in teamfights.

Coop games in consideration on stats and matchmaking?

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 08:18 AM PST

I play dota in a very casual way, playing with bots or coop-bots (with another 4 people), and just sometimes I play unranked games, but the thing is, when I eventually play ranked, this will affect the matchmaking? I mean, obviously I win every bot game, so... I'm afraid I'll be matched with high ranked players for this. P.S: Sorry if something is misspelled, english is not my native language

Need help itemizing for juggernaut

Posted: 01 Mar 2018 10:49 PM PST

So i heard jugg is an easy hero to get good and as of now im actly 6-2 with him. but i think i might need some help with itemizing him.
my first thought is to play him like AM. 1st main item battefury but you can go everwhere else after it. Manta if they have silence, mayb diffusal for ghost scepter, SnY for stats or even better Skadi going late into the game.
so when do you decide you need deso or mkb? because sometimes i feel like im not dealing that much damage with my omnislash while if facing a good jugg player i see them tearing us apart like nothing. so what items should i get or skip, better to go mkb instead of basher etc?

Thoughts on starting items on melee safelaner

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 05:28 AM PST

Recently I have been going triple mango + 2 branches and stout instead of tangoes (tangoes give 7hp regen for 16 secs and this build gives 3.5hp regen permanently , you can later on eat mangoes for mana)

Having good sucess with it on DK/Jugg/LS

Against heavy harassing offlaners like wr/ench (it would probably be better to get 2 sets of tangoes when you know you wouldnt be getting much support)

Position 4 dead?

With the recent changes to the bounty runes, that it won't give xp anymore. Do you guys think position will become obsolete?

Will jungling return discuss

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 01:06 AM PST

Just seen a jungling post. It made me wonder. If bounty XP has been removed that in turn buffs XP from other sources, or at least makes them more valuable I am wondering if this will be enough to bring jungling back into regular play. I'm not convinced it's enough to make jungling viable again but it made me wonder.

What do you guys think

Edit. Not advocating for jungling. Just wondering if more people will try it now
