This is an opportunity for the more experienced HotS players here to share some of your wisdom with those with less expertise. This thread will be a weekly safehaven for those "noobish" questions you may have been too scared to ask for fear of downvotes, but also can be a great place for in depth discussion if you so wish. | A niche trick for getting more value out of your plasma cutter. Posted: 29 Mar 2018 03:02 PM PDT The upgraded plasma cutter rotates 3 times. Since start and end points overlap, a stationary target can be hit 4 times: https://i.imgur.com/DfZWskv.mp4 If you move counterclockwise around your target, the plasma cutter can hit more often. Here is the untalented plasma cutter, which only rotates 2 times but still manages to hit 4 times: https://i.imgur.com/TvhYLp1.mp4 If you're more precise, you can even hit a target 6 times by moving in a pentagram: https://i.imgur.com/KMn9B1A.mp4. This is more useful for stacking your quest rather than damaging your opponent, since you have to carefully manage your movement instead of attacking. However, if you're aiming for just 5 plasma cutter hits, you can weave in autoattacks and stutterstep: https://i.imgur.com/yPlzNdv.mp4 Enemies with large hitboxes are hit much more often. Here the boss is hit 9 times: https://i.imgur.com/op6q3CM.mp4 Bonus tip: the lvl 20 range upgrade lets you hit structures without being attacked back, if you quickly move out of range after attacking. Another idea is to have the ability to "mute" names if you report the enemy for abusive names, turning them into "player 1" etc. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Can we finally give the MVP screen some use? Posted: 29 Mar 2018 11:08 AM PDT Last week a friend convinced me to try league of Lego , which was a nice change. What I liked best was their honorsystem. When you are actively positive in chat and game , you are rewarded and you get to reward others. It's so beautiful and feels great! It said I received GG 5 times and I got part of a key (for crates I guess) which is amazing. I think we can agree our system right now is completely pointless, people play safe to get less deaths and therefor end up being MVP more likely , that's about all it does. Let me say thank you to good teammates and receive the same for carrying a game or staying positive in bad times! [link] [comments]  | ||

Thank you, Blizz, his design resembles original Dragoon hero from StarCraft :-) I didn't find anything about this promo in the web, I don't know how long it will last... | AGAIN: Please ban new heroes from ranked modes for a while! Posted: 29 Mar 2018 02:26 AM PDT This problem occures with every new hero release, but especially with the last recent additions (Maiev and Fenix) who were to strong at release, this is getting a bigger issue. I think it's not healthy for ranked modes, when new heroes are instantly available to be drafted. This keeps me away from playing ranked for more than a week each time a new hero is released. | Explanation for that Stukov play in Dorm and a little in to the mindset of the players Posted: 29 Mar 2018 09:01 PM PDT So, since I just killed a lot of your brackets, including my own, here's what happened in that final Dorm fight for UVU vs Carleton.
The call was made to try to fight before Carleton hit level 20, and as such, 3 of us, namely Gul'dan, ETC, and myself on Stukov, were bottom side. However, Carleton wanted to fight as well, since they noticed that we were really split up. We had vision on them from Medivh, but didn't really notice the Garrosh baring down on ETC until he was almost right on top of him.
ETC uses his E to interrupt the Garrosh stun and starts running back to base. I throw an E to slow the Garrosh to help him. However, Garrosh throws Kerrigan at us, and she immediately dives the Gul'dan.
At this point, the combo is going to land, and it looks like the enemy team is going to have an easy CC chain. As a part of Kerrigan's combo, Gul'dan is interrupted on his Horrify, but that's a small side thing to the story. Medivh shield finally comes in, happening to block the Blaze stun by luck, as he just came out of raven form to shield.
Simultaneously, because we didn't have time to communicate in Discord, I throw my ult. We were still in the action of disengaging, since Sonya is still not in the fight.
ETC steps in to the middle of the enemy team to use mosh, but I'm already halfway through my ultimate. The third swing hits just after the mosh stuns 4 enemy players, knocking 3 of them out. The Garrosh is not pushed out because Flailing Arm knocks targets back further than the cast range.
Then all hell breaks loose. I step up to drop a quick silence field to try to stop a re-engage, but Malfurion already has his roots down underneath ETC. Horrify comes back in to play, hitting 3, but the action of doing so slows us down.
Sonya finally makes it in to the fight and leaps in, but Gul'dan and I are almost dead. Kerrigan jumps back in. She lands her combo on Gul'dan again. He dies. Medivh dies to Twilight Dream, and at that point the game is over.
Even looking back at it, I find it difficult to place the blame on any specific micro decision made. We were caught in a bad spot. We couldn't have gotten out of that situation without either some deaths or the use of ultimates. Unfortunately, some anti-synergy popped up when 3 of us were attempting to use them at the same time. Should I have used my own ultimate? Probably not, but in the heat of the moment, I thought something had to be done, and I was in a position to do something.
Anyways, thanks for those of you who read through this, good luck to those of you still in the tournament, and for any high school/college students who want to try their hand at this kind of thing, look in to your schools program. | Gauging interest for a positivity-focused hots discord server Posted: 29 Mar 2018 02:42 PM PDT I love this game, but I don't like this subreddit too much lately. I feel like there's way too much negativity surrounding this game. Sure, there's problems with it and there's things I'd want. I would love hearthstone innkeeper as a hero and I think that the report system definitely needs to be reformed. But I feel like the people on this subreddit are a bit too negative about a game that is actually really fun. Because of this, I'm asking if people would be interested in a positivity-focused hots discord server. It would be a public server to talk about hots, lft, and just chill, but hopefully with a bit less of the negativity that we experience too much though.
