True Dota 2 - When we start needing to report people for reporting...

When we start needing to report people for reporting...

Posted: 07 Feb 2018 06:17 AM PST

So I'm really happy with the new 6 month ban system. Made people behave themselves very well indeed. Not that I reported much to begin with. Some people just have a bad games and flame/tilt a bit and I generally give people the benefit of the doubt, because I'd like everyone to get along and have fun. Specially now that there are 6 month bans, I'm even more careful because even if I don't know the person, I don't like to think that I was responsible for taking that person's fun away (I know you can just make another account or whatever, but I wouldn't like my main account locked).

But what I'm seeing more and more, which is a little alarming, is that people use the ban system as some form of weapon for anything and everything. No wards? Report! Failing a gank because of a mistake? Report the noob! Having a bad game? Feeding a bit but trying? Doesn't matter, report! I know this was true in the past but it seems like an epidemic now.

People have always reported for bad games, which I personally find really childish and unfair, and always try to talk people out of it. Though now that the punishment is more drastic it looks like people who wouldn't usually do this are getting sucked in. Or all I'm seeing are the left over gamers...the ones that report all the time.

Should we report all those who do this as they are the ones who are, in fact, wrong? Of course not, but damn I'm tempted. I'm sure the report system is geared towards taking people who report a lot with a grain of salt. But I don't know how many have been put on the ban because of this.

In any case. Please don't report people for bad games. If the feed is real etc go for it. Having a bad game is not worthy of a report, or should we report you for every bad game you've had?

Have a little faith in your fellow gamers, we're all trying to have a good time together.

How do u beat these kind of lineups?

Posted: 07 Feb 2018 01:27 PM PST

How would you go to defeat a deathball mass push lineup that consists of huskar shaman and lycan. I mean all lanes should be won, and even if not they should not lose the lanes hard, once they all have their basic items they can fight, they can push and they can just deathball out of control. How do u deal with that cancer?

Aeon Disk Idea

Posted: 07 Feb 2018 12:29 PM PST

Recently, Aeon Disk's passive ability got reduce from 80% to 70%. Even though I think that this is moving in the right direction, it still seems lacking in impact. I had the idea of being able to toggle the threshold at which Aeon Disk activates, for example, being able to toggle it like power treads, being able to set it at 10, 20, 30, 40% etc.

What do people think? Problems and comments are all welcome. 🙂

Mark plays and comments roaming Tusk (high Ancient)

Posted: 07 Feb 2018 03:01 AM PST

Hey Trv dota Tv! This morning I got a notification from a high ranked, channel I follow, it was this game. It's a full game taken from his stream where he plays a nice roaming Tusk while saying his thoughts out loud on what he does/should be doing. The game is even, with some nice Ancient-tier plays and things get kind of weird in the lategame.

Mark gets some solid split pushing done and is able to surpass the offlane and catch the safelane and mid's in farm. It's good stuff, this Legend 4 shitter appreciates and endorses it.

Nullifier vs Hex

Posted: 06 Feb 2018 07:24 PM PST

What would be the advantages of each item? With heroes like Clinkz, Prophet, and Arc Warden that almost always get Orchid/Bloodthorn anyways it seems like Nullifier makes way more sense as it gives you a mini doom which should give you enough time to deal enough burst damage to kill them and it also boosts your raw attack damage. But Hex seems like it would be better in a teamfight because it is undispellable although your damage will be lower and the duration is lower. Is there ever a situation where all 3 would be built? I'm just trying to feel this item out and really understand when to get it.

Aggressive farming question

Posted: 06 Feb 2018 10:53 PM PST

I was watching a 6k-ish Juggernaut's player perspective yesterday, and I noticed that blade fury gets used much more than I anticipated.

Farming jungle stacks early with it I can understand, but I am struggling to understand the mentality behind pushing waves in the early midgame (pre bf, which was delayed by going phase>aquila>drums) with it, considering that the enemy team had a bkb-piercing disable in a pudge.

With enemy mid showing somewhere, the jugg would calmly spin a wave and retreat to jungle.

The question is this: Can you be confident that the enemy interprets your aggro farming as you being safe with both supports behind you? And a follow up to this: how confident can you, as the carry, be that this is how they are interpreting it?

Obviously they see your spin and retreat, but Jugg did not get ganked once.

I would appreciate any insight to this, because I play a lot more defensively in general and would like to understand how to maximize the use of semi-defensive spells in farming to optimize this aspect of my game.

Ps. Come to think of it, having spin against pudge + gank squad is probably death anyway, so it might just be that (although I doubt it).

Let's talk: problems with Husker

Posted: 07 Feb 2018 07:52 AM PST

1) How to farm efficiently & faster with husker...I always find my GPM and XPM lacking in numbers even after getting good head start ...are there any items he could pick up for flashfarm?

2) is Aeon Disk legit? Maybe You can stack up burning spears while being immune to damage?

3) How to deal with crits? Lots of carries either have inbuilt crit or buys daedalus...which basically equates death husker. How to Itemize against high physical DPS team. In SEA servers there are more than one carries so I can't disarm all crit carries...

4) After Veil or break he even becomes suscptible to magic as well...how to deal with veils

5) Should he only be picked when your team has saves and heals? (After seeing how pros are playing husker...i wonder if this is the case)

6) Is Guardian Greeves legit on husker? Has dispel component...can save your life and has insane HP regen at low health...

How to counter 5 mango skywrath as OD mid?

Posted: 07 Feb 2018 07:29 AM PST

So I got matched up against a skywrath mage mid as OD and I noticed he came to lane with like 5 mangos. He was able to spam a ton of his arcane bolts and almost pushed me out of lane a few times but I ended up going even with him. What's the proper way to punish a strat like this? Note this was a turbo game.

Is it Legit : Pipe offlane Razor

Posted: 06 Feb 2018 06:02 PM PST

Razor actually doesn't need much of stat items, damage items (static link) or attack speed items (+100 attackspeed talent)....so the question is ...is it legit to play less greedy offlane Razor...and focus on aura + tank build...

Phase, spirit vessel, crimson guard, pipe, helm / vlad & solar crest

Or will this result in him being too glass/ paper?...suggest an offlane Razor build...

Who are the best Dominator heroes outside of the meta few?

Posted: 06 Feb 2018 08:08 PM PST

I've been looking at grabbing the item for adding push ability since dom is cheaper and has better stats than meme hammer for most heroes. Outside of Lycan, Beast, Chen, Ench who utilizes the item best?

I've been eyeing Gyro (stacking, catapults) and Ogre (stealing and bloodlusting catapults!) but haven't bought it on anybody yet.
