Silly Question Sunday - 11 February Posted: 10 Feb 2018 04:13 PM PST Silly Question Sunday is a weekly thread in which you can ask your RuneScape-related silly questions: - "Newb" questions from new players
- Questions from returning players
- Silly or nonsensical questions
- Questions you feel stupid asking elsewhere
Of course, a question thread wouldn't make much sense without answers, so please help out with any answers that you have! Past Silly Question Sunday threads submitted by /u/AutoModerator [link] [comments] |

Some Menaphos suggestions Posted: 11 Feb 2018 03:57 AM PST Hi, lately I've been grinding city rep in Menaphos and, while I like the city, I feel as if there could be more to it. Here are some suggestions/QoL updates that could fit the Menaphos umbrella. Please comment ur feedback Allow us to get consistent reputation from burning acadia logs and cooking desert sole/catfish/beltfish, similar to the skilling nodes in Menaphos. Allow us to get consistent reputation in Pyramid Plunder and harvesting Luminous energy. Reputation is gained from urns, sarcophogi, and chests, and more reputation is gained in the higher level rooms of Plunder. Considering plover birds give reputation and that the reputation layout remain on screen in Sophanem, it really makes no sense why these activities don't grant reputation. Make Menaphite citizens (not marketeers) and guards attackable. This does not grant reputation. Citizens would be like level 15 and guards could be around level 60 or so. Merchant District market trading - Similar to the Dorgesh-Kaan marketplace minigame. Bring in "exotic" items to sell to merchants and citizens and try to sway them into buying your goods for a fair price that isn't too cheap or too expensive. Grants reputation based on how well you did swaying them. Add more facilities to Menaphos, such as ranges, furnaces, and anvils that players can use. Grand Library Minigame - Similar, if not exactly the same as, to the Arceuus House Library minigame in Oldschool. Work for the library by helping customers, delivering outside books to the library, and discovering manuscripts/arcane knowledge. These earn either reputation or your choice in Magic, Runecrafting, or Divination exp. Sophanem Embalming - Could give favor. I have no idea what this would entail, but it just sounds hilarious and Runescape-ish. Could award prayer and crafting xp and reputation. Worker's District/Menaphite Ruins Agility Course - Mid-level agility course, alternate to the Wildy and grants rep. This has been suggested so many times by so many different people that I'm not going into further detail. Menaphite Black Market - As city quests are just "fetch x items", this could replace city quests. As Menaphos is still walled off (only the player is allowed in and out) and Ehsan controls practically every aspect of Menaphos's economy, the Menaphite black market looks to the player as someone who could easily bring in blacklisted paraphernalia, if the price is right, of course. Head to the Ports district and help the Menaphite black market meet its import/export quota of illegal and smuggled items, without the use of the Grand Exchange, by smuggling items into or out of Menaphos, such as forbidden texts. Rewards would essentially be the same as or similar to City Quest rewards. Coenus's Contracts - Slayer Contracts assigned by Coenus. Essentially the same as current slayer contracts, except it reward reputation instead of coins. All monsters assigned must be defeated in the Kharidian desert. Similar to corrupted/akh creature slayer tasks, reputation from killing these are doubled. Demigod Emissaries - I'm not really good at lore, but this is a suggestion for more later-game Menaphos content. Work together with the 4 emissaries of the Demi-gods in a multitude of miniquest-esque tasks that relate to the lore of the desert and to help combat Amascut's presence in the Kharidian. These tasks would be similar to God Emissaries and reward both reputation and experience, except they are more tied in to the surrounding lore and are geared towards middle to high levels. Unlike God Emissaries, you can help all four at once, since their relationship is more symbiotic. Each tasks an emissary gives gets harder and scales in difficulty with its quest requirements. Each emissaries's tasks focus on a different set of skills: - Scabaras - Mining/Crafting/Dungeoneering
- Crondis - Hunter/Construction/Smithing
- Apmeken - Agility/Thieving/Ranged
- Het - Slayer/Strength/Constitution
Emissary of Scabaras - Help the Scabarites cleanse the underground of Amascut's corruption and her hordes of thralls and prevent their return by constructing a new defence mechanism for the Scarabites. Requirements: Jack of Spades, Dealing with Scabaras Emissary of Crondis - Use your resourcefulness and ingenuity to hunt down the source of all the evil by allying yourself with the Crondites in the underground pursuit of Amascut's thralls. Requirements: Crocodile Tears, Emissary of Scabaras tasks Emissary of Apmeken - Now that you've tracked down Amascut's trail, it's time to fight dirty by attempting to end her destructive plans through sabotage and subterfuge. Requirements: Do No Evil, Emissary of Crondis tasks Emissary of Het - Rally the denizens of the desert and restore long-lost strength and perseverance to combat Amascut's wrath. Restore the faith of the citizens in the four districts and fight off Amascut's underground invasion of Menaphos. Requirements: Our Man in the North, Emissary of Apmeken Tasks Rewards: A completion of the Relic Outfit, a T60 hybrid outfit. The helm is already in game and is a reward from completing the God emissary tasks. Relic Gloves - Scabaras Relic Boots - Crondis Relic Skirt - Apmeken Relic Body - Het A chunk of EXP rewards for each task given to you. Reputation for each completed tasks, in addition to reputation gained during each miniquest/task - Scabaras - 4,000 reputation in a single district Crondis - 8,000 reputation in a single district Apmeken - 6,000 reputation in each district Het - 15,000 reputation in each district Titles: Received at the end of each Demigod emissary's tasks (of Scabaras/Crondis/Apmeken/Het) Allow penguins to spawn in Menaphos. Ability to disable exp gains from Soul Obelisks. More thievable stalls in the Merchant District, such as the bakers, fish, and gem stalls that are already in the game. Spread out the slayer levels of corrupted monsters more. A bit controversial, but I think the levels should required should be spread out more instead of just having corrupted monsters/akhs take up most of the high level slayer spots. This could give breathing room to future post-99 slayer updates. Instead of level 88, corrupted scorpions, for example, could be like level 60-65 or something to match its relatively low combat level. submitted by /u/arianararity [link] [comments] |

How To Stop Lurers Posted: 11 Feb 2018 02:12 AM PST Remove the buffer zone in level 0 wilderness that is safe, turn it to level 1, increase all current wilderness levels by +1.
