Sprint Vector - Review Thread [Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, PSVR] Posted: 11 Feb 2018 02:04 AM PST Launch: Oculus / Rift: 8. Feb. 2018, PSVR: 13. Feb. 2018. Playable on WMR according to many users as well. https://www.oculus.com/experiences/rift/1425858557493354/ https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/sprint-vector-ps4/ http://store.steampowered.com/app/590690/Sprint_Vector/ Steam user rating: Very Positive (98% of 104 user reviews are positive). . 'Sprint Vector' may have borrowed some well-established kart racing tropes from the 'Mario Kart' franchise, but that's where the comparison with other games stops. Using a unique locomotion system, Survios shows a masterful understanding of what it takes to make a fast-paced, but comfortable racing experience, one that will have you flying higher and running faster than you've ever gone before. Gameplay: 9 | Immersion: 9 | Comfort: 9 90/100 . Positives
Negatives
Sprint Vector is a great example of a game that could not exist without VR. The act of swinging your arms from side-to-side as you boost along massive, sprawling levels in contention with other racers is exhilarating. It makes for one of the silliest looking games to watch someone play but one of the most intense (and exhausting) experiences you can have in a headset. 8/10 – Great . Survios' second virtual experience is upon us. It's not only a fun addition to the VR ecosystem, it's one that may serve as the bar for many others. 8/10 . The Good
The Bad
There is very little to find at fault within Sprint Vector. It is a highly polished offering from the get-go. The game manages to deliver a high-speed VR experience with little to no discomfort. That alone is no small feat. It's an incredibly fun game that sneakily gives users one heck of a workout. Survios had already positioned themselves in the lead pack with Raw Data. With Sprint Vector they have offered a compelling and new experience to VR users and may have just taken the lead as one of the top VR developers with this one. 90/100 . PROS
CONS
Sprint Vector is unlike anything else on the VR market. The Fluid Locomotion System allows for high speed virtual movement without motion sickness for most people, and the game's ubeat, irreverent tone encourages both casual and competitive play. It does seem to be hit or miss, and sadly seems to lack that addictive quality for most people. Meanwhile, my competitive friends and platformer fans can't seem to get enough of it, and it's just physically demanding enough to provide a bit of a workout to boot. 70/100 . There's very little to dislike in Sprint Vector. Sure there will be times when that competitive edge over takes you, getting annoyed when you fudge a jump but that's to be expected. The single-player has enough to get you started with a few hours of gameplay, yet it's the multiplayer that'll have you coming back for more. Here's hoping that Sprint Vector draws in enough of a crowd to sustain it, rather than becoming another multiplayer focused experience that gets forgotten about. Which would be a shame, because from where VRFocus is standing Sprint Vector is another hit for the studio. 5/5 [link] [comments] |

What game did someone highly recommend that you didn't like at all? Why? Posted: 10 Feb 2018 03:09 PM PST Everyone has had a friend recommend a game that they loved. Tell me about the games that you were supposed to like, but didn't, and why. For me, it was Goldeneye. My roomates insisted that this was the best game ever made. I found the controls to be clunky and the gameplay to be slow. Not to mention that you could actually see the other person's POV, which certainly made any sort of surprise null and void. That being said, I had been playing Quake for quite awhile at that point, so mouse aiming and much faster gameplay was what I was used to. Going from Quake on a PC to Goldeneye on the N64 was like whiplash for me. TL;DR - I didn't like Goldeneye (N64). Which highly rated games didn't you like? UPDATE: TIL I'm old. I haven't heard of most of these games. [link] [comments] |
Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project 5.0 by Halk Hogan released. Posted: 10 Feb 2018 04:16 PM PST https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mocWjeeOxfs HD Reworked is fairly comprehensive at this point, and 5.0 truly pushes it over the top with a more vanilla style updated with vastly superior textures. You even get reflections and water improvements. Halk has come a long way from the beginning. For me I could not think of playing this game without the mod. I waited quite a long time for a couple releases to pass before finishing up the game. You guys should give his mod a look if you haven't kept up on updates in a while. Of course Witcher 3 looks pretty good vanilla, but there is no denying its poor texture quality in many areas. 5.0 should treat you well. Drop by and give Halk a suggestion on the forums if you want. https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1021/ I highly recommend Friendly HUD mod and a couple others to suit your quality of life preferences. You will be in heaven when you can shut off or lessen all active NPC annoyances like text bubbles and button prompts. Combat options and dynamic naming parameters based on distance are great additions. It makes for a much more immersive experience. https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/365 Installing these mods does not take much time, but Steam users without the GOTY will need to get the 1.31/GOTY merger scripts linked in the Friendly HUD thread if you want to use the massively improved HUD interface. All in all you should be good to go in a couple minutes after downloading. Just make sure to give priority in a mods text file to HD Reworked. FPS hit is incredibly minor for how much these two mods will enhance your experience. This game is still a tier above most games. It's a top notch package with a little extra polish now. With just these two mods the experience is a decidedly superior one. I certainly could not go without the massive improvements to wood, stone, metal, and random objects throughout the cities and lands. I hugely appreciate all the work that went into these projects. It was well worth your time modders. Even though it has taken some time, anyone coming to this as a noob should be blown away. [link] [comments] |
