Hey, just got Rimworld and am really enjoying it so far but I'm super confused about power. What's wrong here? Why won't my things gain any power even though I have huge excess power and everything is shown to be connected?

Is it hard to run multiple colonies?

Currently I have giant colony with 70 colonists living. Since about 10 of colonists are usually idle, I'm going to let them set a new colony.

But I'm just worried, If I run two colonies at once, do I'll require lot of computer specs? I'm having a little frame drop right now, like when it's raining or forest fire. Or can I switch between colony between playable, non-playable?

Making a mod, almost finished but in need of graphics and a few final tweaks I don't know how to do

I'm making a mod that aims to bridge what I see as a rather silly gap between tribal and industrial tech, but also keeping it somewhat minimalistic with a focus on patching holes rather than being a full-fledged medieval times mod.

I've currently completed crossbows, plate armor, greaves, helmets, and gambesons with associated research projects and I plan to make catapults next. Everything is currently using graphics and sounds from other items in the base game. I'd like some custom graphics if anyone is willing to make them, message me if you're up for it.

On the technical end, the things I haven't figured out yet are in regards to the gambesons I like the idea of being able to make them out of any cloth material but some of the material defense multipliers make it very overpowered. Is there a way to either lessen the effects of those multipliers or disable some of the more ridiculous materials? Hyperweave can make it better than power armor and that's a bit crazy. The crossbow takes both wood and steel to make, but when smithing (using the standard unfinished weapon unfinishedThingDef) it sometimes appears as wood, sometimes steel. How can I make this consistent? For all items, I'm unsure about what the tags will affect and how important they are. Are they just important for being recognized by npc factions and other mods? I currently am not using any tags and everything seems to work fine, but I'd still like to know. Finally in regards to the catapult, I'd like to use stone chunks as ammo (hopefully easy enough) but it'd be neat if the fired chunk remained behind at the impact site instead of vanishing. Can I do this? If so, how?
