Have you ever heard of the Tragedy of Angela “Mercy” Ziegler the Healer?

Posted: 31 Jan 2018 05:03 AM PST

I thought not. It's not a story the Blizzard Devs would tell you. It's an Overwatch legend. Angela Ziegler was the main healer of Overwatch, so powerful and so skilled she could use her rapidly repairing skin cells to influence the human body to create life... She had such a knowledge of healing that she could even keep the ones she cared about from dying. The Zürich PHD is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. She became so powerful... the only thing she was afraid of was losing her power, which eventually, of course, she did. Unfortunately, she taught Jeff Kaplan everything she knew, then her developers nerfed her in her sleep. Ironic, she could save others from death, but not herself.

Thank you, overwatch

Posted: 31 Jan 2018 06:31 AM PST

This is sort of a silly post, so I apologise.

My family has been going through some hard stuff, my dad has been cheating on my mom for 2 years, they are divorcing and everyone is torn up. We were the closest family in the world and although we are all in our 20s, my brothers and I are very sad about it. Our family is dividing, claws are coming out, and no holiday/birthday will be the same :/

My brothers and I used to play video games together for hours as kids. They got me into video games, and I was never excluded (I am a girl) We are all very competitive though, so it would often times lead to arguments.

We now all live thousands of miles away from each other east, west, and south. We never get to see each other and we had slowly been drifting apart.

Then we found overwatch. Guys, I almost want to cry thinking about how wonderful it's been from my brothers and I. We play together as much as possible, and get to reconnect while playing something we love. The teamwork aspect means we aren't competitive with each other and that is amazing.

I know this may get buried, but if even one person who helped make this game possible reads this I'll be happy. From my family to yours, thank you overwatch :)

Please restore the ending noise on Mercy Ult

Posted: 31 Jan 2018 09:17 AM PST

Noticed it a few times in game today, so I just now popped into the practice range. Two days ago, Valk had a certain winding down noise as it neared the end of its duration, allowing the Mercy player to position safely. Now there is no audio cue of it coming to an end, which has thrown me off a few times. Would like it back please.

It's just qp bro. Or how to go all dps

Posted: 31 Jan 2018 05:19 AM PST

Me and a buddy were playing qp with a random 4 stack who instalocked 4 dps. We kindly asked if perhaps we shouldn't have that many dps and received the standard "its just qp" True. So we decided to join the fun and picked dps. Only to instantly get yelled at via chat about how we had no healer or tank.

We then played and were rolled as 6 dps. During which they continually said we need a healer. And got very tilted.

Moral of the story. If you think you can instalock 4 dps. Don't bitch when no one will heal you.

Edit: this got moderately popular. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank my grandma for being cool as fuck.

Also can overwatch please release owl player stats.

Before You Start Cheering About How All The Mercy Mains Are Gonna Drop So Much SR...

Posted: 31 Jan 2018 06:07 PM PST

Remember that a large part of everyone's ranks right now come from a meta where dying - even twice - was largely not a big deal. I've played a few games since the nerf with people who were very clearly used to having their mistakes erased, but that doesn't exist anymore. None of us exist in a game where we can just jump into the enemy team, die, and even irrationally expect a rez from Mercy - it's literally impossible for her to do what she used to in that sense.

If you're someone who benefited from three, four, or more rezzes per game on a regular basis, you're gonna be the ones struggling in this new meta, and you're gonna be the one dragging down your teams, not the Mercy mains. Mercy is still viable for healing and damage boosting, and a Valkyrie Mercy is still incredibly hard to kill - however, you're gonna be the one who can't benefit from the undo button. Please keep in mind that if you're losing with Mercy on your team now, it's not just because she's "useless" (she's not) - maybe take a look in the mirror and see if you're the one at fault here.

Overwatch should have the option to give people extra praise for being good or nice

Posted: 31 Jan 2018 12:43 AM PST

Like when a Moira clutch ults and heals the whole team to save the point or an Anna ults you as reaper and you get 6 kills or even just being a supportive team player and nice to play with. I don't think the voting after the game gives them enough praise. With how toxic competitive can be it's a nice relief to play with some nice people win or lose.

Year of the Dog: Lucio Ne Zha Concept Skin

Posted: 31 Jan 2018 10:37 AM PST

https://imgur.com/8T4wW4c

The Lunar New Year skins were some of my favorite skins in OW. I had fun imagining Lucio as Ne Zha, a Chinese deity. Ne Zha is often portrayed with a playful persona and wind fire wheels used to skyride (which I thought was very appropriate for Lucio!)

Very excited to see what Blizzard comes up with for the upcoming Year of the Dog event. As always, very open to feedback and critique. Enjoy!
