What's a game that you really regret that you missed the "golden period" or hayday of? Posted: 22 Feb 2018 04:40 PM PST I was playing Journey the other day and while it's a beautiful game I really felt like I missed out when it was crowded with other wanderers. Well, not crowded, but you know what I mean. I've been thinking of other games in my backlog that either will have dead servers or that will have been better when they first launched. A lot of MMOs are like that I suppose too. My friends tell me a lot about how the best gaming times of their lives were when Vanilla Wow hit the shelves or when COD4 came out as it was kinda fresh and everyone was a lot more upbeat about things. I wouldn't say that games weren't as toxic or that genres were more stale but a games community certainly leads a lot of weight to the games you experience. Another example would be when games didn't have a comprehensive wikipedia attached to them so that you really had to figure things out instead of getting fed up and turning to Googling it. I remember playing the first Pokemon as a kid and purchasing a guide long after "completing" it and realising how much I missed. [link] [comments] |
