[OC] I painted Lanius, the Monster of the East Posted: 16 Feb 2018 08:53 AM PST I've started a new playthrough of Fallout: New Vegas recently. I used to hate the Legion, but after playing for them two times and taking the time to learn more about them, they've become one of my favorite factions. They might be a bunch of dicks, but they're fascinating ! [link] [comments] |

Get your own town, you filthy hippies. Posted: 15 Feb 2018 05:57 PM PST Decided to do my second FO4 play through as a... not terribly nice person but had to go through Concord so I could pick up supplies for Sim Settlements. In a drug-fuelled haze I murder my way through an army of raiders and a deathclaw, nick some power armour then for some reason this guy comes up to me and says he's moving into my house with all his friends and there's nothing I can do to stop him. Then he has the gall to invite ME to come join HIM! TL:DR Preston Garvey is a dirty commie squatter demanding handouts from hardworking Americans. [link] [comments] |
Out of all the Fallout games, what quest name do you like the most? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 07:34 AM PST For me it's: "Ain't That a Kick in the Head" (NV) "The House Always Wins" (NV) "For the Republic" (NV) "He went-a-that-a-way" (NV) "Ring-a-ding-ding!" (NV) "When Freedom Calls" (4) "With our Powers Combined" (4) "Liberty Reprimed" (4) "For my Baby" (NV) [link] [comments] |

The Road Kill Garage, Raider Chop Shop + Mad max style cars Posted: 16 Feb 2018 06:30 AM PST The Road kill Garage (Oberland Station, 73 picture album) is one of Doug Deathadomes many raider chop shops across the commonwealth. 1 year after the successful opening of the Dougs Deathadome's Dimmsdale Deathadome (his starlight drive in raider town) Doug Deathadome spends most of his days terrorizing the commonwealth in his war rig "Behemoth Hunter". Today Doug Deathadome and his convoy of Dimma Death made a stop at The Road kill Garage in hopes of selling his new stock of slaves to the Nuka world Raider bosses and their over boss Colter. Dougs chop shops provide a place for to refuel and restock supplies for his raider gang's mechanized death machines. I had alot of fun building these mad max style cars hope you enjoyed looking at my settlement. :) hours spent building settlement ~22 hours Mods used: Dustbowl Overhaul Clean and simple settlement startup Place Everywhere [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Feb 2018 07:08 AM PST A few years ago I did a rushed playthrough of FO3, probably spending about 20hrs in the game. My only thoughts were that I should play FO3 before FO4 and since FO4 releases next month I should make this quick. However I never saw a Deathclaw in FO3, much to many of my friends' disbelief. So I want to know, was my experience an abnormality? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 16 Feb 2018 10:58 AM PST As the title says, I'll be ranking all fallout DLC. This will include the workshops from FO4. That being said, I'll try and keep this as spoiler free as possible. NOTE: this list is an OPINION so don't hate if my opinion differs from yours. 15 Contraptions Workshop (FO4)Not much to be said, just a workshop. Really only useful if you like settlements 14 Wasteland Workshop (FO4)Just like contraptions, really only useful for settlements. Atleast it's cheap. 13 Vault-Tec Workshop (FO4)Better than the last 2, but still not that great. I genuinely disliked this add-on but atleast it adds a fair amount of content. 12 Dead Money (FNV)This DLC marks the point of where my list becomes true DLC. Dead Money is good, but it can be really annoying at times. I dislike the fact that nearly all your inventory is stripped, and there's a scarce amount of healing items. Despite that, this DLC truly put some fear into the game. No other DLC came close to making me panic like this one did. This DLC is mainly for people who like survival over anything. 11 Mothership Zeta (FO3)This DLC lacked any story if you ask me. You get abducted by Aliens and now you're on a spaceship filled with 3 ft tall aliens. This DLC was fun but it didn't feel like fallout at all to me. 10 Operation: Anchorage (FO3)This DLC proves that Bethesda can make a pretty good FPS game. But that's all this was. Too much combat, not much of anything else. 9 Automatron (FO4)Automatron was a really good add-on for Fallout 4. I enjoyed this DLC from start to finish, and it added a really cool companion in Ada. The mechanist (even though a different person) makes their return. Although kinda wimpy, still was a solid villain. 8 Broken Steel (FO3)I am so glad this DLC exists simply because it allowed you to play after the games end. A good DLC overall and what I think was a good conclusion to Fallout 3. 7 Honest Hearts (FNV)The map to this DLC is one of my favorite maps in any Fallout game. The environment is so cool and I actually cared about some of the characters. Made you think about some of your choices. A good DLC and I would recommend it to those who haven't played it. 6 Nuka World (FO4)A great DLC overall, but was a bit too linear. I really enjoyed the combat and the map of this DLC. And the decision of "should I help these raiders or not" actually had me thinking. Porter Gage is one of my favorite fallout characters, and he made the decision even harder. But I do wish the delivery of you NOT siding with the Raiders was done a bit better. 5 Old World Blues (FNV)This DLC went from my least favorite to one of my favorites after 1 playthrough. When you first enter Big MT, you are instantly slapped in the face with Doctor Klein and the others talking with each other for around 20 minutes. Pretty funny stuff but not exactly what I want in a DLC. But once you really get into it you'll be able to realize how good this DLC actually is. 4 Lonesome Road (FNV)The atmosphere of The Divide was incredible. It explains the Couriers past in a great way. It's a pretty tough DLC, but I enjoyed every bit of it. 3 Point Lookout (FO3)Such a good DLC. Goes from finding someone's daughter to something much bigger. The theme of Point Lookout was amazing, the ambience, everything was memorable. 2 The Pitt (FO3)Easily my favorite of Fallout 3. This whole DLC gives you the feeling that you're doing the right thing until suddenly, you don't know if you're doing the right thing. After everything you go through, making that final decision is a tough one. 1 Far Harbor (FO4)Far Harbor really showed me what Bethesda is capable of. In my opinion this DLC is better than Fallout 4 itself. It's like Point Lookout but risen to the next level. The music, the map, the fog, all incredible. It starts the same as Point Lookout, but instead of giving you some ghoul and hillbillies, Far Harbor gives you factions that you can actually care about, which makes you think about your next move at all times. Simply put, my favorite DLC in all of Fallout. Feel free to leave your own list below. [link] [comments] |
Fallout 4 VR worth getting in Feb 2018 Posted: 16 Feb 2018 07:27 AM PST Hello, thinking of getting Fallout 4 VR and want to know if it's still the buddy mess the reviews talked about at launch, would be using a HTC vive. [link] [comments] |
My dream dlc for a fallout game “The Punx” Posted: 15 Feb 2018 10:59 PM PST You go to the small town of Punxsutawney which has be taken over by warring cults trying to get the weatherhog. The weatherhog is a radiated groundhog who can control the weather. Each cult has armor based on the weather they want like parkas or short shorts. If fallout ever goes to Philadelphia i think this would be a fun idea to explore. [link] [comments] |
Fallout Series: All About the Benjamins Posted: 16 Feb 2018 08:37 AM PST Fallout Series: All About the Benjamins By Chandler Preston Rice "Mo money, mo problems" - - The Notorious B.I.G. (Biggy>Tupac) I've always wondered what would happen to mainstream society after an apocalyptic disaster, manmade or natural. In most fiction the world reverts to a simple barter system where three boxes of cat food is enough for a gallon of water. Obviously, this is extremely inefficient, plus it would be very easy to cheat someone out of their goods on the cheap. Not saying I would do that, but yes I definitely would. So it is very strange to see a system in place for currency in any media. I am, of course, speaking of the Fallout Series. Fallout takes place in an atom-punk type alternate universe where nuclear power is all the rage. It will be a no brainer to realize that a nuclear war erupted between the US and China. No one is quite sure who began the two hour long conflict that changed entire landscapes and devastated not just the countries involved in the war. Numerous mutations spread around the world, causing some to turn into "Ghouls", humans so affected by radiation that they begin to physically rot. Though they get to live forever. Not sure about that trade. Needless to say, the country is screwed. However, surprisingly, a monetary system is in place. Bottle caps of the pre-war popular soda "Nuka Cola". Bottle caps seem to have a steady conversion rate, a pack of cigarettes costing at least 5 caps, which is a good trade for non-smokers. Not that smoking matters, you can get cancer by being born. Most of the former US runs off of this system, however in the New California Republic and all their territory, whose flag is a two headed bear, uses actual paper money backed not by silver or gold, but by water. The NCR actually operates as if it is a stable democratic nation, because it is. I mean, it even has a President and corrupt politicians! Crazy, right? The NCR has a tax system and a set of rules for warfare, including not harming prisoners of war. Now, the NCR dollars used to be backed by silver and gold, however a recent war with the Brotherhood of Steel, a group of technology hoarding soldiers and scribes, their precious metal supplies were destroyed and devalued. Therefore, a country with no precious metals, but full of the most precious commodity of the apocalypse, would have to switch to something better. So water it was. However, NCR money is not perfect, not in the slightest. The conversion rate to caps is constantly changing due to the NCR's massive expansion and inability to properly defend its citizens. Not to mention the slaving horde to the east known as "Caesar's Legion". The Legion was formed after Caesar discovered a copy of Julius Caesar's "Bellum Gallicum", his personal memoirs of the Roman expansion into Gaul. Caesar admired the old Consul, forming an army from the tribal folk around and using the Roman method of combat. Caesar's Legion has its own monetary system as well based off of Rome's previous currency, the Denarius being the most common and least valuable. Surprisingly, these coins are actually minted in gold and silver due to Legion supply lines. It is often argued that traveling through Legion territory is much safer than traveling through NCR territory. No raider will risk being crucified on power poles for a little food, water, or booze. The Legion coins are not truly backed by anything, but as said before are minted in precious metals, plus the Legion's supply lines ensure spreading. Truly a successful, slavery based, society. Most of the examples above are from Fallout New Vegas, unequivocally the best entry into the series. Seriously, give it a try. I don't exactly have a specific point to this, but I do enjoy writing for no reason. Thanks for reading, and War, War never changes. [link] [comments] |
What songs do you associate with items/locations in the Fallout universe? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 01:27 PM PST Like, every time I see "dirty water", I immediately think of Clipse's "dirty money" All my fly bitches like (dirty water dirty water) [link] [comments] |
How much power does the director have? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 05:03 AM PST So I've seen a lot of people agree that the institute is evil(and hilariously some people who pretend they don't do things like kidnap people)but they believe that by becoming director, it doesn't matter, and you can do what you wish and turn the faction on its head. But how much would you be able to change? The way players talk about it it seems like a monarchy? But then why is there a board? Why would a group descending from Americans get rid of checks and balances? So lets try and figure out how much power the director really has shall we? Also since some people will bring it up, it appears Shaun had more power then he was suppose to, due to the amount of respect he had from everyone it would be political suicide not to go along with him [link] [comments] |
Me and my dad are gonna play fallout NV Posted: 15 Feb 2018 05:06 PM PST I have been dealing with depression lately and just want to play my favorite game all time with my dad. The character will be named after him and he will make most of the major choices [link] [comments] |

Fallout 4: Is survival mode actually fun? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 09:25 AM PST I played fallout 4 when it first came out, then stopped after 'finishing' it. I've tried to come back to it recently but can't really get into it (after playing witcher 3 non stop for about a year lol) Is it fun? Or does it just become a chore? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Feb 2018 12:10 PM PST So I went to Goodneighbor for the Kellogg memories quest and decided after to explore the place. I found the Hotel and inside found the VT Rep, now a ghoul, pissed at me, his ex-employers, and the world. Feeling bad for the guy, I decide to give him a place in the world and send him to Sanctuary with a promise that I'll visit him. He heads over and I explore some more, take on a few jobs and head out. I go get Drinkin' Buddy, send him to Sanctuary and then head back myself. Arriving, Im greeted by the joyed squishy face of the VT Rep, estactic that I kept my promise. As per the usual when Im back in Sanctuary, I put on some tunes and start building as a way to relax from all the sights Ive seen today. Adding some decorations to my marketplace, I stop to see an empty Trading shop still yet to be assigned someone to run it. I think, Hey! The Rep would probably be pretty good at that, seeing as though he got me to agree on taking my spot in the vault, despite seeing all the atrocities they've commited in my past lives. So I run on over to VT Rep(He needs a better name, lets call him Henry). I ask him if hed like a job, and he seems to agree at first. I tell him I think his sales experience would be a valuable asset to Sanctuary. Henry asks where Id like him to go, a choice of Red Rocket Truck Stop, Tenpines Bluff, and Sanctuary. Well, I want Henry here so I tell him right here in Santuary and he becomes irritated and says I must be yanking his chain, then refuses to talk to me. Now whenever I talk to him, even about a job again all he wants to do is trade with me or talk about a prize of steak knives. .... All this roleplay aside, everytime I talk to Henry now my character either decides to trade with him, or asks him again of he wants a job and he replies about my smoothskin, the struggle of a ghoul, or his lack of knowledge about the inside life of a vault and those damn steak knives. I cant command him, I cant move him to another settlement, Ive tried saving then reloading, Ive tried exiting the game and coming back, fast traveling somewhere else and walking back or fast traveling back, killing him(but hes non essential so he actually does die), Ive tried scrapping the store and rebuilding it. I dont know what to do. Im on Xbone so I cant use the console commands, though I do have slew of mods installed, including a cheat terminal which I've scanned through..nothing to reset, or copy NPCs, or bring him back to life after hes dead. I dont really want to reload before I met Henry and that was an autosave anyway so I cant, but Ive done so much after i met him that i dont wanna do again. Anyone have any suggestions, i really wanna make things right and give him the salesman job he yearns for... [link] [comments] |
Despite Creation Club, is it still worth buying Fallout 4 for PC? Posted: 16 Feb 2018 05:52 AM PST So naturally as a PC player I mod a lot and I know this whole creation club thing is still in full force. Read reviews on steam and apparently if Bethesda drops a mandatory update, you have to reinstall and update all your mods for them to work? I play Skyrim still a bunch and haven't noticed this but it seems Fallout is impacted worse. [link] [comments] |
