| Posted: 06 Feb 2018 06:29 PM PST Leveling my dps magsorc, as a healer in dungeons. Random group in the L35 to CP80 range. Get to the first boss and tank (sword and shield equipped) just doesn't bother / know to taunt, he goes all over the place. "Ah well, guess I'll put taunt back on my bar if no one else will" I say after the fight. "Yah we have no tank" says the dps. Now at this point, I'm frankly somewhat indifferent - cool, it's a newbie who thinks sword and board look cool and doesn't bother to use pierce armor. Whatever, that happens and it's a normal lowbie dungeon, I put inner fire on my healer bar. Next trash pull: "Lol, you don't need a tank for normals" says the tank. I have never seen a vote-kick pop up so faster or go so well in my life, lol. On the one hand, he's not wrong, on the other hand, it's a real jackass move to queue as a tank, use a sword and board, and not taunt while the boss goes all over the place. I tanked the next boss on my 15K HP magsorc healer using inner fire, and we got a tank out of the queue right after that. Don't be a jackass, folks. [link] [comments]  | ||||

| ZOS: Time to hire a GM, anti-bot ban waves not working. Posted: 06 Feb 2018 07:22 AM PST I understand what has been said about how they deal with bots. They want to create this one-size-fits-all AI that auto-bans instead of investing in a GM or two that do manual bans daily. The problem is, these alleged ban waves don't happen near often enough, nor are they catching the worst offenders. Using an addon I wrote specifically to make reporting bots easier (EZReport), I have reported hundreds of bots over the last 3 months, moving between just 3 areas: Percolating Mire in Shadowfen, Karthdar in Grahtwood, and Silverhoof Vale Rivenspire. After three months all of these SAME BOTS are still out there running 24/7, ruining the quality of service and undermining confidence in the company and interest in playing, and nothing has been done about it, ban waves or no ban waves. ZOS it is time to take responsibility for the quality of your service and hire a GM devoted to manually banning these bots daily. I would do it for a handful of crowns a month, so I am sure you can find someone that won't break the bank. By banning daily you create a scenario of diminishing returns for bot companies using them to farm gold to sell illegally. The more you ban in the short term, the more it costs them to buy new accounts, until it is no longer profitable for them to sell gold in your game. Doing ban waves every 6 months or however often (not very if you have done nothing to hundreds of bots reported dozens of times over 3 months) does NOT cost these companies money, and in fact leads to them assuming you are just not investing in stopping them. I have actually heard gold sellers talking openly about how you guys don't bother or care about stopping this anyway so why not take advantage of it, and these are people that I believed were actual players, not gold selling companies. Where is the incentive not to cheat? I ask you ZOS: You ban forum accounts and close threads, both on the official forums and even here on Reddit apparently, and show more commitment to policing these media than you do your actual game, all to avoid addressing this issue. Why not invest the minimum necessary to maintain the quality of your actual product the same way you do your forum communities? Let me as a 4+ year paying customer and maker of addons increasing your game's value ask you a simple question: WHY ARE YOU SO AGAINST HIRING A GM OR TWO LIKE EVERY OTHER GAME that is devoted to banning these bots? Respawn and run back, or go to a different objective. Wanna know where the term came from? Shortly after launch, about six dozen players, all dressed in the goblin costume would rotate mutagen, vigor, boundless storm, and Pulsar. Every third or so would be a bot. Sometimes more. They would beeline from keep to keep, facerolling any opposition, since PvP guilds had yet to be organized. People would warn each other over zone chat, "zerg heading to chal," or, "zerg incoming BRK." Evacuate out of the target. Wait for them to roll it. Roll back in and reclaim it since you know they won't turn around. People used to play around the zerg. But now any time we lose, we accuse the winning side of being a mindless bot train. Stop it. | Posted: 07 Feb 2018 01:32 AM PST im level 19 and having trouble figuring out what im suppose to be doing. im trying get the main quest done but the quest chasing shadows will not show up from the prophet. ive walked around Daven's Watch many times now. I have done some coldharbour quest to the point having to defend against the vampires. Am i suppose to keep doing the cold Harbour quests? or am i doing something wrong? i am part of the Ebonheart Pact too [link] [comments]  | ||||

On the other hand - what you wish could take from WoW and implement into ESO? | The bot situation is out of control Posted: 07 Feb 2018 03:08 AM PST Hi guys, I just a saw the other post about bots and I have to say I was kind skeptical. I'm a very casual player nowadays and never saw those thing (bots) since launch when they flew away harvesting nodes. Then I launched the game and went to test some stuff near Wayrest, that part where there's a lot of dreugs near the undaunted enclave. Boy, there was 15 to 20 "unnamed" templars in a killing train doing the exact same thing. Near one of the most populated areas of the game... Isn't it enough to devs start doing something?
