| Thanks dayz, I can always rely on you Posted: 17 Feb 2018 02:51 AM PST This morning I thouhgt about which game I should play again today. At first PubG came to my mind, but was quickly rejected cause of 4-5 GB Patches coming every 2-3 weeks and I wasnt in the mood to download it for 1,5 hours. Little sidenote: I have a 6000 Kbit/s connection and downloading takes me forever. What I want to say with all that: I can always rely on dayz, cause I know I won´t ever have to download anything before playing, since there are no patches ever. [link] [comments] | ||

| Just something for the devs to take note of when they are looking for a releasable patch Posted: 17 Feb 2018 04:04 AM PST TLDR at bottom I know you want it polished. And for good reason. You want to come back strong against the haters. Show them that the time they think you spent making an updated Arma 2, you've actually built a whole new engine where huge amounts of mechanics all affect each other in realistic ways. So rightly so, you want to release .63 when it comes to a point where you'd be able to see [insert game reviewer] and feel their response was fair. But one thing to remember is: Until .63 is in our hands, then DayZ is still a 'bit of a mess' (one of the more polite reviewers). DayZ has been broken for the players for a long time. Over its history, we've had: Player Advantage Bugs
Player Inconvenience Bugs
The above I know you all know, so don't read it. My point is this. We, as alpha testers just simply played despite all the above. Guys{Devs}, I hope you enjoy your playtests as you said you were doing around this time during the SR, but keep this in mind ---V We played in (stable) patches where if you died; you would log off, tell your friend to throw a splint causing the server to restart, and you would log in alive (and probably get a good chance to kill the guy that killed you, and talk shit to their corpse for 30 seconds). As a player, if the only thing missing from .63 is player_sitting_in_vehicle models, or getting in and out anims, trust me we don't care. I know thats not the bug thats causing you not to release yet, but I'm just saying that what devs consider game-breaking and what players consider game-breaking are two different things. TLDR In other words, yes you want to give a great patch that youve been hyping up because you want to bring back those haters. My point is we as players all came from a game where walking over a rock would break your leg and axes had to be reloaded. And until we've seen .63 in our hands, to me this is still the most applicable trailer for DayZ Standalone [link] [comments]

| Posted: 17 Feb 2018 07:11 AM PST I'm looking to start a server with no rules where Kos is allowed but I'm hoping to find a variety of people so that it's not all PvP. Is anyone interested in this? We will have one safe zone where there is a trader base but everything else is fair game. I want a good variety of heroes and bandits so that we get good interaction but you still have the thrill of never knowing when or where you will be attacked. Not like most servers today where you almost always get kos. Or rp servers where you know you are in an area where you can't be kos Reply with steam name if interested [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 17 Feb 2018 04:12 AM PST This is my first Reddit post so go easy on me. :P I'm unsure if there is other posts like this but I'd like to discuss DayZ BETA and what I think is coming with it. I recently was talking to some friends about DayZ BETA and how much hate DayZ SA has received over all (my friends being on the hate bandwagon). I don't consider myself a fanboy, if something is shit I won't defend it to my last breath, but I truly think that everyone is wrong about DayZ. I've kept close track of every status report and sneak peak of unreleased content that the DayZ Devs have put out. Everyone seems to think that the game is dead and that the developers do not care about it but if taken the time to read the status reports every two weeks it becomes very, very apparent that this is not the case. I think DayZ will make the biggest come back in gaming history and that the Devs are slowly chiseling away for a grand slam that almost no one sees coming. The Devs know that if the game is to survive, they have to make a scene, and it's got to be a good one. They have stated themselves that they understand how important the launch of BETA is and what it means for the future of DayZ. My friends started to ask me what was going to be so different about BETA when it hits and why I'm so excited. I couldn't find a list anywhere else on the internet that compiled nearly everything from the status reports over the last 12 or so months that has been previewed but not released, so I took it upon myself. I'm now posting it to Reddit because I'm now craving the hell out of DayZ and want to hear everyone's opinions. :) Below is what I believe will be in the game on BETA release, some things just shortly after. I don't think many people realize the magnitude of stuff that has been shown off but not released. All information has been gathered from the Developer status reports and Trello board. If anyone has anything to add or if I'm wrong about anything feel free to comment. DayZ "Finished" but unreleased content all presumably going to be in BETA or shortly after (that is not in 0.62):
God I hope I'm not wrong...... May this list also be here to show to those who say DayZ is dead... [link] [comments]
| Posted: 16 Feb 2018 03:31 PM PST Was the doctor hanging from the tree in Pavlovo Military base removed from the game? I know I've seen it, tried finding it today and couldn't. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 17 Feb 2018 04:35 AM PST Picture this. 0.63 drops, sending this subreddit into an absolute frenzy. Players from far and wide return to DayZ to conquer the formidable land of Chernarus once again. News sites are raving about the implementation of such a patch, and how good things come to those who wait. This patch raises the hype around the game to a new level, as players start to believe again about the dream that was DayZ. One week later amid all the joy and time of celebration for seasoned survivors, they announce that DayZ 0.63 will be coming to console in the coming days. This generates Bohemia Interactive millions of dollars and at the same time, sends DayZ back to the top, where it belongs. Now, picture this. Bohemia interactive and the DayZ development team have been working for a console version of this game for months if not years. They say, 'elementary parts of the game are very much work in progress', when in fact they have spent most of their time optimizing and finishing a console release. They are then going to push out a half broken 0.63 PC patch and then cash in on all the hype with that console version. Why do they feel the need to say 'Despite the not-so-huge amount of work going into console' at all? Its almost as if it's a little troublesome that 0.63's release (which has been worked on for years, supposedly) syncs up with the console release (that has been worked on for weeks, supposedly). How can 0.63 miraculously work on console with no major issues in gameplay or performance, if significant manpower hasn't been spent fixing it? Its almost as if for the past year they have been consistently building up 0.63, when in fact they are simply using the hype to sell more console copies and milk a cash cow that's almost been milked dry. What do you think happens when the console release hits and Bohemia have made as much money as they can out of the game? Do you think they will continue to throw cash into a bottomless pit? Or cut the development team, slowing further updates and then ultimately ending development because nobody plays the game anymore as updates never roll out? Picture what DayZ was. Picture what you hoped DayZ would become. Because ultimately that's all they are now, pictures. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 16 Feb 2018 01:09 PM PST I would like to apologize for my previous post, I said that almost 1/4th of the year had past, I forgot to count the 31 last days(I did the math with months and not days). I have become a meme on this sub and it feels weird. :D Sorry if I offended any devs, I honestly wasn't going for that. Best of wishes [link] [comments] | ||
