Self Post Sundays! - January 21, 2018

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 08:09 PM PST

To foster more discussion about the games every Sunday we turn the subreddit into self-post only mode.

Self-Post Sundays are our main discussion day. On those days we only allow text posts directly about the games themselves.

Please save your images, fan art, screenshots, videos, etc to the other days of the week. Use this day to discuss the games. Other posts will be removed.

TIL: I’m old but this stupid Lightning Wizzrobe (on my way to Zora’s domain) didn’t get the best of me

Posted: 21 Jan 2018 03:46 AM PST

2 months, since I lay played because I couldn't defeat this wizard. 2 months and 2 deaths this morning, before I realized, I can just outrun him.

That's right. I'm outrunning the Lightning Wizzrobe and have made it to Zora.

In fact, I'm now facing the Lynel. 😳

Happy Sunday!

I tried fighting a Lynel for the first time a while back...

Posted: 21 Jan 2018 07:54 AM PST

I've always avoided fighting those things, seeing as they're so unpredictable and quite the challenge. I think it was after conquering one of the Divine Beasts I decided to fight one and see how I fared.

I died when the Lynel had around 54-56 HP.

I might actually wait until I have plenty of weapons, food, and hearts. Also, seeing as I now have the Master Sword, I'm thinking on trying again pretty darn soon.

Need help finding an old post here from a deleted account

Posted: 21 Jan 2018 08:35 AM PST

Around 2014 to 2015, I made a post here with an old account that I deleted for personal reasons. The post was just a picture of a ceramic plate I made in High School that was green and had etched designs inspired from Ocarina of time. I need the post now because I lost the plate and I wanna see if I can either make it again myself or find someone to recreate it for me online. Any help would be appreciated.

Hylian Alphabet - is there an up to date confirmed chart?

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 09:26 PM PST

Hello! I could use some help with the Hylian alphabet; I've found several charts that translate symbols to English letters and am not sure which is accurate. Trying to figure out how to spell "silent" for a tattoo design with a silent princess flower.

Hello everyone,

I would like to print this BOTW poster: https://gameplanet-53f8.kxcdn.com/media/catalog/product/cache/4/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/m/a/maxi-poster-the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild.jpg but i can't find it in high resolution. Does anyone have this picture with high enough resolution to print at 50 x 70 cm?

So... the dragons in Breath of the Wild (Possible Champions Ballad spoilers)

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 07:10 PM PST

I read/heard somewhere that only Link can see/touch them, being the chosen one (Like with the Picori)

Which really didn't make much sense, as you can harvest their horns/scales and sell them as physical objects to people.

And now in the Champion's Ballad DLC the Rito Elder outright states that he knows of Dinrall and sent a scout to keep an eye on it, as it's been acting odd.

So... I'm wondering where in the world did I hear that only Link can see them?

Parrying a Guardian Beam

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 07:01 PM PST

Has got to be one of the most satisfying things you can do in BotW. I'm still learning on how to do it perfectly but I just took down 2 walking Stalker guardians by parry and it felt fantastic.

I used to hate running into these things but when I learn how to parry better I'll be able to counter them when I get to Ganon later on.

Zelda's real name?

Posted: 21 Jan 2018 07:15 AM PST

Do you remember when she used her name, Zelda Hyrule, wasn't there a middle name? I can't remember...

the whole point of the series is that it's the same girl, different boys often, same girl, she's immortal so myth is that the name changes but I wanted to remember the one she used in wind waker, Zelda ??? Hyrule, or Zelda ??? ???? Hyrule? Did she have a few?

Help

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 03:59 PM PST

Okay, so here's my problem. In my current playthrough of BotW, I've got 11 hearts, done a bunch of shrines, helped the Zora, got a house, unlocked a lot of the map etc. But I've also done dumb stuff like falling into mud for no reason, mistiming glides and falling to my death, fumbling with the controls as I try to learn them, getting caught in my own explosions and things like that. So, suddenly, I have the urge to restart. It's a problem I have with games generally. If I do dumb stuff or die a lot or do things in a strange order, I stop enjoying the playthrough. I don't want to restart because I'm so far in and this is already my second! Does anyone else have this problem?!

Next Zelda game should have the time travel mechanic but when you stand at the pedestal in the temple of time you can pick what incarnation of link to go to.

Story and puzzles that weave through the timeline and art styles would be great.
