'Servers currently down for two hours due to maintenance' - Why not put this message up instead of having players constantly see 'Cannot connect to servers' and have them thinking something is wrong with their connection.

If removing weapons on the starting island helps performance why do we still have useless clothing spawns all around the map still?

Posted: 24 Jan 2018 07:47 PM PST

I don't know if they just want nobody shooting in the start or the spawns themselves create lagg in the game. If the spawns themselves create lagg why do they still have all of those useless cloth items spawned on the map?

I'm a divorced dad(36) and I play PUBG with my son(13) most nights lately. He and I both got our first Chicken Dinner tonight playing duos.

Posted: 24 Jan 2018 09:51 PM PST

We both recently got the game and have about 60 hours in. He lives with his mom during the week and spends most of his weekend with me. Being able to spend some extra time with him during the week while playing PUBG online has been awesome. Tonight we got our first CD and it was amazing. I won't bore you with the details but we both survived(he was knocked at the end but alive) all the way to the final kill.

Last year I built him a PC so we could bond over that and game together. He brings his whole rig over on Saturdays and we've taken to playing whatever we're into lately side by side in the living room. We've had more fun with PUBG than any other game, I think.

Hearing him yelling with triumph after finally winning a match and yelling along with him into my mic was nothing short of glorious. We got it done right before the servers went down too. I could not ask for a better, more fun gaming experience.

I encourage every parent out there to try to get into the games your kids are playing. He actually bought this game for me just so we could play together. I wish my parents had done anything similar when I was young. We might have had a much different relationship than we did.

Thank you, Bluehole. You can't know what this game means to me.

E: FPP, in case anyone was wondering.

E2: Tried to respond to as many comments as I could last night. Woke up to this awesome response this morning. Thank you folks so much for being so positive and sending so much love and kind words.

E3: He found it this morning.

WE'RE ON A ROLL, BOYS AND GIRLS!

Unpopular Opinion: I don't think PUBG is as bad as this sub makes it out to be

Posted: 25 Jan 2018 04:56 AM PST

So I'm sure some of you have clocked up many more hours than I have on PUBG. I'm currently sat at 57, for what it's worth.

So far, I've encountered 1 cheater with an aimbot, 2 vehicle glitches (1 got stuck on a fence, the other got stuck and then blew up between two rocks), 2 'Server is Busy' sessions and a handful of instances of taking fall damage when dropping off the parachute. (I've also never encountered a recognisable Chinese player but I'm assuming that's because I'm playing on EU servers, and it's NA that has the problem).

But all I seem to see on this sub is intense negativity about how unplayable the game is. This is the most enjoyable and long lived battle royale game I've ever played. I tried DayZ, H1Z1, (I know not exactly the same genre) both were shocking and I got bored super easily within the first month or so of playing. I've tried Fortnite at a friend's and the gameplay felt so arcade-y and fake that it just didn't do it for me either.

Am I genuinely just incredibly lucky or is this sub just overly pessimistic over PUBG right now?

Unpopular opinion. I think this game is fun, and I don't encounter a ton of bugs.

Posted: 25 Jan 2018 07:48 AM PST

So much of the reddit right now is incredibly anti-PUBG and anti-Bluehole, and I'm not sure if people are actually overblowing issues or if I'm just super lucky but I'd like to put my two cents in just so people can see that the game is still enjoyable.

My game hasn't crashed in a month or two. I play this game a lot, and maybe it's just my setup, but I haven't experienced crashes to the extent that a lot of people say is common on this subject (50% crash rate or higher)

I don't encounter many cheaters. I play duo and solo FPP and while I know that people say that cheating is much more prevalent in TPP, I've seen many posts saying the game is unplayable because "95% of my games have cheaters". I have a 21% top ten rate and a 6% win rate. I'm not shit. I make it to the end of games. And I have seen less than 10 blatant cheaters in my 800 hours. Now there is an argument for cheaters being less blatant, but I have certainly not experienced what some people on this subject say "Shot through a wall with a shotgun from 800m 10 games in a row!" Or stuff like that.

I don't see a ton of bugs. I had a car flip into the air once, way before 1.0 release. I can drive around just fine. I've gotten stuck in a wall once in 800 hours and never fallen through the world. I've lost 2 items to getting sucked underground. Ever.

I can still play this game and have a ton of fun. I do play this game and have a ton of fun. I'm not at all trying to invalidate other people's negative experiences, but I've noticed such a disconnect in my experience and what people are saying on here. I love this game, and I hope that if you are dealing with all these issues to a serious degree, I hope they get resolved. And full disclosure, I think Blueholes priorities in the game are incredibly profit-driven and kinda scummy, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the game, and I hope these issues don't turn you vets away.

I'd like to leave you all with a warning. If a majority of the top posts are shit talking the game, new players WILL NOT buy it. The game that we love will die. While this isn't a reason to overlook bugs, think critically about whether or not you're accurately representative of your experience when you say things like "95% of games have cheaters" or "Can't drive anywhere without bugging out". People considering buying will see this and believe it. If it is your actual experience, by all means, go on posting, it needs to be addressed, but I'm simply asking the community to think critically about the impact of our words.

Thanks for the lengthy read :p Have a great day all! May chicken dinners rain upon you all.

I really love this game, and by all means congratulations on the many millions of copies sold, but I don't think I have ever in my life played a full release game with this many crashes and client errors

We need an option to swap the AIM/ADS function to ADS/AIM

Posted: 25 Jan 2018 03:35 AM PST

Meaning, instead of hold RMB to AIM and click RMB to toggle ADS, I want to have it hold RMB to ADS and click RMB to toggle AIM.

For those who may comment "it's in the options under gameplay". It's not, the toggle/hold option there only works for TWO SEPARATE KEYS assigned to AIM and ADS. Please check it yourself before commenting wrong "solutions" as it confuses a lot of people.

Thanks to the player that picked me up solo(Miramar)

Posted: 24 Jan 2018 09:50 PM PST

It was a solo queue(Miramar). We dropped North, I was running to a vehicle to get to Military base up there. Hearing a vehicle headed my way I hid next to a pole thinking you were trying to run me over. You stopped, honking and announcing pickup! I get in.

You mentioned our matching polka dot shirts, and credit that with being why you picked me up. We went to Miliary Base, looted and left separately.

That game was my first solo chicken. Thanks for the lift polka bro!
