Player Unknown claims the whole community thinks the game is E-Sports ready

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 02:55 AM PST

He must be trolling right?

"The whole community is saying we're eSports ready. We're not yet but we will be one day."

When you get into the game too much

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 12:06 AM PST

Never running out of breath while sprinting, but running out of breath while aiming, and then not being able to sprint is retarded.

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 04:35 PM PST

Am I crazy thinking that seems wrong? Can sprint forever, but can't stand there and aim forever, and if you do, you now also can't sprint. Feels bad.

For people who only want to play either map, but not both.

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 03:42 AM PST

Delete the map you don't want to play from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PUBG\TslGame\Content\Paks\

You'll need to delete all TslGame-WindowsNoEditor_[MAPNAME][_grid|_heightmap|_lod].pak files.

Me and my buddies deleted Miramar (called desert) because they got sick of that map and when we try to join and it loads Miramar, the game just bumps you back to the main menu.

Bit of a hack, but it works! (until we'll get map selection)

Note that after every update you'll have to re-remove the map

Edit: There's been some talk about this being a bannable offense. I have no idea, so I've just asked it at the official forum. Until then: Do it at your own risk!

Updated news about Tencent's China PUBG.

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 01:31 AM PST

  1. Current state of PUBG China is in "pre-order" stage. Player can pre-order this game with his QQ account(a Tencent chat software). Additionally, one can link his PUBG China account(QQ account) with his steam account. (This sounds like how Dota2 is handled in China, one can register a standalone Chinese account and link this to an existing steam account to transfer items/data, or just play without linking)

  2. Rumor says alpha server start on Jan 15. This is usually used for testing network stability.

  3. Linking to steam account function will no longer be available after March 31.

  4. (My speculation) It looks like PUBG China will work like how dota2 is running in China: For a standalone client user who plays this game with QQ account, he can only play within Chinese server. For steam users who linked their account, they can play in Chinese server using steam launch option like "-Tencent" or play in the global server as usual. Client in Internet cafes will also become "Tencent's version" by default.

  5. There is still no news from Tencent about region lock. But Dota2 is no longer available for Chinese steam users, I am guessing region lock is coming. (Notice: Chinese steam users can still obtain Dota2 via VPN)
