EX Raid Feature Enabled Harassment - Players Prevented Other Teams From Getting Mewtwo Posted: 10 Jan 2018 01:47 PM PST I had an ex pass for yesterday that I wasn't able to use due to the private raid feature. As soon as the raid opened, other players looked at us and said "go in" so I did too. When the raid was about to start the lobby was suddenly empty except for me and one other player on my team. The other players made a private group with just members of their own team. Another player who was with us but not doing the raid asked if they were seriously leaving us out. They said yes, exchanged heated words and they high-fived each other, and one even took pictures of me and the car I was in. We were silent. There were no players from the third team, so we had 2 total people. We couldn't do the raid and didn't get a chance to catch Mewtwo, while the ones who left us out were rewarded with raid rewards and more damage balls for catching Mewtwo (not that they would've even lost the team bonus if two players not from their team raided with them). Private groups are a fine idea for normal raids, but ex raids get few and limited people. I play this game with support from my family - I'm disabled and can't drive, it's hard enough for me to even get out to have a chance at getting an ex pass. [link] [comments]

Dear Niantic: Past Legendaries Posted: 10 Jan 2018 06:53 AM PST I think it would make the game more interesting if Niantic gave tier 5 eggs a small chance of hatching a previous legendary, something like 0.1% chance of spawning something different. What would be even better is if they gave the EX legendary a 0.00001% chance of hatching out of a regular legendary raid egg. Just a thought that won't ever make a difference. [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Jan 2018 10:38 AM PST I know a lot of people like to rip on Niantic for the way they handle this game (and I understand the frustration) but for my first post on this sub I wanted to take the time to thank them for giving us a game that my son and I love. He's not quite old enough to play by himself yet but he enjoys spinning the stops, tapping the eggs to hatch them, and helping me catch pokemon. This game gets us out of the house and is something we have fun doing together! Just today we caught 2 lotad (a pokemon we haven't even seen before) and a wailmer because of the weather system! I played pokemon growing up and I'm so happy this joy is something I can now pass on to my son through pogo. I guess I just wanted to share this with the pogo community to remind everyone what while this game indeed has a lot of problems and unused potential, it is still something that brings a lot of happiness to people too! [Discussion] What Type Badges Are You Still Working On? Posted: 10 Jan 2018 06:04 PM PST I am still working on my Steel and Dragon badges. I managed to get my Ice and Fighting badges thanks to the introduction of Gen 3 and the Winter event. But steel and dragon types are few and far between. I managed to get Silver badges on both, but I am far far away from getting Gold. What about you? [link] [comments]
[complaint] Where are the Dragon types? Posted: 10 Jan 2018 04:50 AM PST I live in a desert biome and we have quite a few windy days. I was hoping that with the weather feature for wind favoring dragon types that we would at least see some. We are seeing none. We see tons of Flying and Psychic...but I have yet to come across a single Dragon type. So frustrating.... [link] [comments]
[Question] Why is Lotad so rare? Posted: 10 Jan 2018 07:57 AM PST Ludicolo does not seem like its worth the effort at first glance. In the real games, maybe, but 2200 CP is nothing to write home about. Also its moveset is GOOD but not phenomenal. [link] [comments]
[idea] weather boost for walking Pokémon Posted: 10 Jan 2018 09:04 AM PST Maybe the walking distance required for a candy is decreased by 10% in certain weather conditions. If you walk a grass Pokémon in the rain (it's basically the equivalent of watering a plant) or walking a fire Pokémon on a sunny day. I love the weather system but I feel it's got so much potential! [Idea] A Way to make Raids available to Everyone: Wormhole Raids! Posted: 10 Jan 2018 10:05 AM PST After frequently seeing others complain about the lack of other people to complete raids with, I have developed a concept that should allow people that at least have access to Pokestops to also have access to raids and are almost guaranteed to get enough people to compete it. Wormhole raids work as followed: By spinning Pokestops, you will have a low chance (evolution item low) at receiving a Wormhole Transport Device. These come in 5 levels, corresponding to the different raid difficulties, excluding EX raids. By activating one and having a raid pass in your inventory (the Transport device doesn't act as a pass) the player is then transported into a raid boss lobby along with other players who activated the device at the same device tier (and thus same raid boss tier). This Raid boss would not be from any particular gym, but would act as an independent raid boss, so players would be automatically given the gym control bonus in the basic starter number of balls. The person who activated the device can choose to either have a public or private group, allowing others with a pass at the same transport device tier to join with a group code (different than the normal raid group code system). In public groups, three players would join at the same time, one from each team to balance to make it fair for all players to get the team damage bonus (so there could be one from each team, two from each team, three... and so on). The groups of three with one player from each team would all be in the same level ranges, like 36-40, 31-35, 26-30, 21-25, etc. This would ensure that by RNG one team wouldn't be full of level 33-40s while the others would be under 30. Overall, this should allow players who maybe couldn't get to raids or couldn't find others to do them with the ability to complete some. For Niantic, this system would solve a lot of complaints while hopefully increasing raid pass purchases and decreasing the amount of spoofers, so it would also be a win for them. I can already see some arguing that this ruins the point of a location based game, but the players still need to go out to Pokestops to get the devices, and for some areas the location basing is a curse due to lower availability of players. [question] what exactly is a break point? Posted: 10 Jan 2018 07:42 PM PST i've heard this term but im not sure what it refers to, There few i can possess think of. Is it pokemon level when the quick attack damage is caped for the raid boss, or is it the pokemon level where you get near max damage for charge attack or is it pokemon level where it has enough hp to survive most charge attack of the raid boss? Its been a long walk, buddy... Posted: 10 Jan 2018 02:14 PM PST Now you are ready for this world, take care.. You may not become the strongest in my family, but definitely most beloved one! https://imgur.com/gallery/oEWAT [link] [comments]

Posted: 10 Jan 2018 11:49 AM PST At this point, it's well-known that Niantic limits EX raids to one per S2 level 12 cell. These form a grid that divide the world into evenly-sized cells of approximately 1.5 square miles. Take a moment to let the implications of that sink in. 1.5 square miles of a suburb containing a population of 500? 1 potential EX raid. 1.5 square miles of prime Manhattan real estate with population over 100,000? 1 potential EX raid. As an example, take a look at this S2 L12 cell that covers much of Midtown Manhattan (link seems to work in Chrome and Firefox, not in Edge): https://s2.sidewalklabs.com/regioncoverer/?center=40.744177%2C-73.996666&zoom=14&cells=89c259b Within this area are over 100 Pokemon Go gyms. At any given time, there are so many players there that, from personal experience, if you see a legendary raid with a good chunk of time left you can simply walk up and there will be enough people to raid it. Included within this area are some of the likely busiest gyms in the entire world. At raids at Bryant Park, Herald Square, the Empire State Building etc. it is commonplace to see overlapping raid groups of 20. This means a public raid group will be created, and before the lobby countdown hits 0, it's already full, causing another public raid group to be created, which often in turn becomes full as well, with another group created, etc. A single legendary raid at one of these busiest gyms could easily push hundreds of players over its 45 minute lifespan. It could conceivably push over a thousand players. Furthermore, each of these gyms will generally have more than one legendary raid a week. Each week, only a single Ex raid is offered in this entire area, with invites going to fewer than 100 players. The odds are tiny for any individual player, even doing 50 raids a week. Rural players have been unfortunately disadvantaged in so many ways in this game. Ex raids are one of the only examples where big city players feel the pain as well. If you're a big city player who can't seem to score an Ex raid invite, realize that the odds are severely against you if you only play in the city. If you want to add Mewtwo to your Pokedex, you should add the suburbs to your repertoire. [link] [comments]

Do Raid Pokémon run away if you use AR+? Posted: 10 Jan 2018 08:09 PM PST I've seen videos of people using AR+ to catch raid bosses (I.E. Groudon) but what I'm wondering is if you get too close too fast if it'll run away for good even if you have, let's say, 10 balls left to throw. [link] [comments]

[Discussion] Received email from Niantic today Posted: 10 Jan 2018 01:02 PM PST A couple hours ago i did receive a canned email from nianticabout having "unintentionally brought a negative gameplay experience". No consequences on my game or anything but this is weird because i have been scratching my head about what i could have possibly done. I have not had any altercation with anyone and i play fair and square (no spoofing or agressive play). My question is how can anyone submit a report about a different player without any legitimate proof of anything happening. Is it a salty person being bored and having nothing else to do? Could several false reports of this kind could lead to an account ban or anything like that? Thanks [link] [comments]

Where on earth is that "Contact Niantic" button? Posted: 10 Jan 2018 07:24 AM PST tl;dr: How does one contact the Pokémon Go people or Niantic for a special request? A close friend of mine is getting married in June and just found out that their wedding location is a pokéstop and right next to a gym. Being the nerd that they are, they sent me a message about it sounding really excited. What I'd like to take a stab at is asking the PoGo gods that be if they'd be willing do something simple like spawn a raid with a good Pokemon in the evening. He really likes Pokémon so I'm just trying to give him a nice surprise. All of the contact methods I could find are either specific Issue forms on support.pokemongo.nianticlabs.com and the business email on www.nianticlabs.com. I heard of an email on the google play store but apparently that's monitored. Is there a "general assistance" button or email address at all? [link] [comments]
As of the IOS 11 update coming, I need recommendations... Posted: 10 Jan 2018 09:15 AM PST Hi all, I think this is my first actual reddit post, so bare with me. But it's, you know, important. I need to upgrade my phone due to the fact that the newest update coming late February will not be available for the iPhone 5. I don't plan on switching from Apple products (as I also have a series 1 watch), so I was curious if y'all have any complaints about either iPhone 6, 7 or 8, which is likely going to be my budget range for a new phone. Is it worth going the extra mile (or kilometre) to purchase the 8? Or have iPhone 8 users experienced issues that maybe the 6 or 7 does not have? Any discussion is great, thanks guys!
