Comments: There seems to be an overlying issue of golden weapons not being applied consistently across OWL skins. Certain parts of gold weapons that would appear normally on non-OWL skins are different on the OWL skins (for example, Moira's fingernails or Ana's Sleep Dart). Still appears to be a bug. 2) OWL skins and player portraits. The in-game player portrait in the bottom left corner shows the default skin instead of the equipped OWL skin. Comments: A few users have stated that the interface is similar to the World Cup interface, where the portrait was also shown as default. Unknown if a bug or intended behavior. 3) OWL skins and Highlights The top five highlights of the day do not show a player portrait. Reply to this thread with any new bugs that come up with the new OWL skins. Also, please direct users to this thread from /new if you see new threads pop up (so mods can remove them). | Posted: 09 Jan 2018 11:42 AM PST The skins weren't designed with the idea that every player should be able to purchase every skin for every team on every hero.
Please just let this be what it's supposed to be...a fun way for fans to support their favorite team. Please don't turn this into an opportunity to complain that you don't have access to all content. If you're an Eagles fan, you buy an Eagles jersey. If you love the Quarterback, make sure you're buying a Carson Wentz jersey. It is the same exact thing with the OWL skins.
Being a fan of a sport doesn't entitle you to discounts. You should want to support the team/player that you want to support. If you want to show more support to a wider range of players...great! That comes with a pricetag...just like buying an Eagles jersey for each player on the roster. We aren't this entitled...I'm sure of it. Let's stop acting like it, and allow these skins be exactly what they were designed for. A fun way to show support.
Edit: In the interest of being fair (and not claiming that everyone I disagree with on this point must be entitled)...I want to share some of the better counterpoints people have made.
That is completely subjective. Some people like the skins, others don't. The benefit is...if you don't like them, you don't have to buy them. They are optional skins that are entirely cosmetic. You could refuse to spend a dime on them and your experience in OW would be no different. Don't like 'em? Don't buy 'em.
Pretty fair. It's focusing on the least important part of what I said (my analogy), but I appreciate that you can't draw a straight line from Sports to Esports. Although...it is the best analog we have. Most of us can't make it to the actual venue where the games are being held. We don't have that common meeting place to show off our colors. The next best thing is doing so in our games. This is the only "meeting space" that most of us have access to...so I thought in that respect, the analogy worked.
Ok. But what are you basing this lower price point on? What feels right? If they came out at $3 a pop...do you think that people would be demanding the skins for $1 a pop? I do. And besides...IMO you're paying to support your team and the in-game jersey is a happy add-on. Not the other way around.
This is one of those things that sounds right...and makes sense if you're the type of person that agrees with this pricing model. Consider this...prices are not set arbitrarily. What feels right to us is based on what we, as consumers, would personally like. Every company (Blizzard and Activision included) has teams of people dedicated exclusively to pricing. Whether you agree with their conclusion or not...clearly, they have found that their ROI (Return on Investment) will be higher with the current pricing model. What's more...those teams of people I mentioned also include Risk Assessment advisors who account for community backlash when recommending a pricing model. Don't take my word for it...this is what every company in the history of business has done. If they have concluded that they will net more profits from fewer (but larger) consumers...nothing that someone who considers $15 as "way too much" can say will have any impact. Not defending this business practice...but that's the way it is.
So...this is entitlement. I've even heard people say they don't give a damn about supporting the team...they just want all of the skins. The fact that you want something doesn't mean that you get it for free or at a reduced cost. The fact that you really want something doesn't change anything. You want what you want when you want it. You're not entitled to complete your collection just because you want to.
Final Edit: Since people have been asking...no, I'm not Jeff from the Overwatch Team and no, I have not received any money from Blizzard to write this. I'm just a person sitting at a desk (who should probably be working right now) with an opinion. [link] [comments]
| All the Overwatch League Skins Posted: 09 Jan 2018 02:38 PM PST I've put together an album for all the OWL Skins so you can enjoy looking at them even when you're not home! It took me a while to do so, so here they are. Every. Single. Fucking. Skin. Took me over an hour to do them all!
EDIT: Thanks for the golds, fellow redditors <3 For those that want to know of the skins for cetrain heroes, check out the comment by /u/eepicprimee HERE -- Or just scroll down. [link] [comments]
| Thank you blizzard for not putting the new OWL League skins inside the hero gallery Posted: 09 Jan 2018 01:56 PM PST The title says it all, Thank you blizzard for not putting the new OWL League skins inside the hero gallery. The reason for this is that it would drive me crazy that the numbers would never be complete without purchasing everything. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 09 Jan 2018 08:01 AM PST All of us spend a lot of credits to show off for highlight intro and skins, but watching many highlights here in reddit one after the other and being forced to watch the intro is really time consuming. | OWL Skins Aren't For Completionists Posted: 09 Jan 2018 12:48 PM PST They're literally there to support the teams. If you like a team or you like a specific colouring, you can drop some cash to get, guaranteed, exactly what you want, and they gave everyone a freebie as a sign of good will. There is no reason to spend 1200 dollars to get every single skin. That is absolute madness. And while 100 dollars to get a full team set is definitely pricey, I can't really imagine anyone other than a super fan wanting to get skins for all 26 heroes when most people have a favoured hero pool of at most 10 characters, and then others they'll play if flexing. Further, the fact that they are simple recolours is a good thing. It means that, unlike the Seasonal Lootboxes, people aren't being baited into spending tons of money for the chance of getting a really cool skin. The sole purpose of purchasing a skin would be to support a teammate. Further, $5 for a guaranteed skin is a much better pricing model than what Overwatch already had. Think back on how many lootboxes you had to open previously to get seasonal cosmetics. The "$5 is too much for a recolour" doesn't work if you justify it by comparing it to other prices, because the fact is that theoretically a Legendary skin could cost anywhere from nothing to several hundred dollars depending on RNG. Five bucks is a fair price. You could spend that same money on snacks while watching TV; it's not a huge amount of money. It only becoems huge if you're so itchy with your wallet that you feel the need to try and 100% a virtual art gallery of recolours. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 09 Jan 2018 11:12 AM PST I was excited to buy some skins to support my teams, but I'm sorry but each skins costs way too much for just a recolour. If I wanted to buy 6 skins then I would have to pay the same amount as I did for the game itself. I understand its to help raise more money for the OWL but this is just too much for the regular player to pay new skins. They all look so nice as well. Disappointed. Edit: I want to clarify I have no problem with them charging us with the OWL skins. I just believe that the price for them currently is too steep. Also changed some wording. Edit 2: Also I wanted to add my thanks to Blizzard for the one free OWL skin however! I do appreciate you giving us all a free one. <3 Final Edit: I'm sorry I posted this without thinking through my thought properly or seeing other angles to the situation. Thanks to the replies, that weren't personally insulting me, that showed me different views. My view on the situation has changed, whilst I still agree with my initial point, I needed to understand the view from those involved in OWL. I'm done with this thread now. I regret making it. | There should be a report function- but for positive team work Posted: 09 Jan 2018 08:39 AM PST Last night I had a comp game where one player kept asking me to swap off Junkrat because he had been nerfed. (He didn't realize changes weren't live) My teammate came to my defense, told him how I had a 70% win rate on Junk and told him to not be toxic. The other kid then asked the other team to report me for throwing. I tried not to get tilted, and what really helped was my random teammate kept being positive and defending me and was a great team player overall. With so much toxicity it would be nice to " report " good activity and players. Maybe they could get an extra emblem or unlock a skin or something. This kid made my experience so much better and saved me from getting actually tilted [link] [comments] | ||

| Heroes now say voice lines when resurrected! (Enemy and friendly) Posted: 09 Jan 2018 11:23 AM PST For example, Reaper will say "Get up" when he is resurrected when friendly. A Roadhog when witnessing an enemy resurrect will say: "Didn't have enough?" This is on live by the way! If a friendly D.Va witnesses a hostile resurrect, she will say: "Hey! No fair!"
