Why I feel Frankie's comment about the req system being "Unintrusive" is wrong and has me concerned about H6

Next Halo game along with other Xbox games to be available to Xbox Game Pass members on launch day

When did this sub become so negative?

Posted: 23 Jan 2018 09:41 PM PST

Almost at the point where I don't even want to come here because so many threads are bashing on 343 for almost everything. Claiming Halo is dead or going to shit etc.

Especially the past couple posts about the req system, I thought it was agreed that 343 implementation of microtransactions was one of the best and brought more good than bad (such as free dlc, competitions, etc). Especially because all the unlockable items were only for warzone which is basically a sandbox mode that's supposed to be broken yet fun. Now it's like the worst thing ever, some people were even asking to PAY for dlc again....

This sub is so back and forth and confusing. I'm not sure what you guys want anymore.

Great HiddenXperia vid on the Halo 6 loot box leak/rumor

So many people want an HD Remaster for Reach... I just want an HD remaster of Walshy's Final Montage...

Posted: 23 Jan 2018 10:19 AM PST

Why do people want microtransactions?

Posted: 24 Jan 2018 12:02 AM PST

Especially these REQ packs? It's literally gambling for items with no real value besides how OP they are in Warzone geared towards children 13 and up. They are literally encouraging minors to gamble under the guise that "they're helping the community" when really they're pocketing a very large amount of their profits while spending a small amount of it to keep up appearances and making sure that everyone thinks Halo would be worse off without microtransactions. Let me emphasize this point, PAID LOOTBOXES ARE GAMBLING.

Semi-new to the Halo series and I need some help with something extremely specific and probably stupid.

Posted: 23 Jan 2018 07:19 PM PST

hi A while ago, I played this custom gamemode for Halo 4. Basically two guys on a mongoose for each team on Forge Island. One has a rocket launcher. The rocket launcher cannot damage vehicles or players, but it can flip the mongooses, which kicks the player off. Only... when you fell off, you die as soon as you touch the ground. Is there a "The Floor Is Lava" setting? I've played with the gravity settings, but higher gravity doesn't affect fall damage.

There are many things that we are wondering about halo 6, but there’s one thing we’ve all overlooked...

What will the 6 look like?

A colorful take on Halo: Reach

I never had a problem paying for DLC

Posted: 24 Jan 2018 12:08 AM PST

When we got fun and COMPLETE games I never had a problem dishing out a meal and a half for some new maps, ESPECIALLY when they added a lot of new features (Sandbox and Foundry from Halo 3) Id rather pay for new maps and features than have a shitty spin the slots game to get armor pieces that I could work towards and choose from in last games. Take armor out of random loot boxes.

Why We LOVED Playing on Blood Gulch in Halo

Posted: 23 Jan 2018 08:42 AM PST

I got Halo MCC a few weeks ago. I find matches easily, and the gameplay is great. Besides very few minor things, I have no problems with MCC. What were the problems with MCC early on? Why do some people still hate it/ have problems with it?

Posted: 23 Jan 2018 08:07 PM PST

How easy would the events in ODST have been for solo MC?

Posted: 23 Jan 2018 06:32 PM PST

Playing ODST on MC collection and it is probably my favorite in the halo series. However, it got me thinking, if it were master chief instead of the rookie, just how much easier would it have been for him? MC is only accustomed to the odds purely stacked against him. An ODST (which from my understanding is a step up from marines) had their back to the wall plenty of times in this game yet they prevailed (with all of them surviving none the less!). So how would chief had done by himself?

Are any of the playlists in MCC still populated? What about Halo 3 for 360/BC?

Posted: 23 Jan 2018 06:15 PM PST

Hey Everyone,

I've recently started playing Halo 5 again and I'm having a blast, but I am looking to scratch that nostalgic itch.

The last few times I loaded up MCC, I couldn't find any matches. I didn't wait THAT long, but I tried a few playlists. Does anyone know if the remainder of the playerbase sticks to a certain playlist?

Also, does anyone know what the Halo 3 population is like?

The Subject of the Community

Posted: 23 Jan 2018 03:34 PM PST

As all of us know, Halo's community piqued in size during the Halo 3 days & in activity during the Reach days. An extreme variety of clans, competitive players, social players, Machinima directors, forgers, the list goes on.

However, since then 343 have been unable to cultivate a similar community, despite turning Halo 5's Forge/Customs function into essentially a better version of Reach, as well as releasing a bunch of 3/Reach helmets and armour. That and the new weapon balancing update allows for the community made classic gametypes to play even better than they already do. The browser is mainly used by the very small number of clans still active on Halo 5 & the cancerous Assassination 'community' is still alive & well.

What ideas do you all have on how to revive the community, or sections of the community which have deteriorated or disappeared since Reach? I'll start with how I think the clan community can be regenerated.

For one, I think 343 need to ditch Spartan Companies & simply create an internal Clan system for Halo 6. No Waypoint, just a separate side-menu in the game. It could include the following features:

• A custom hierarchy which could be set by the clan leader, for example: - Keep a system of joining like the current Companies, where the clan name is displayed beneath your Gamertag. Except now, your rank would be displayed beneath that. - Leaders cannot be removed from the clan unless they leave & create ranks, which they can name and allot privileges to. For example, one could make a UNSC themed clan, create a rank, name it Lieutenant & give it the the privileges to send a clan-wide invite & accept new members into the clan.

• A stamp system on maps a clan wishes to 'copyright'. For example, let's say a clan creates a raid base and wants to ensure that, even if it is saved and edited by another unrelated player, the tags of the author and creator will remain constant. Simply click the 'stamp' option in map settings and it would apply a permanent tag denoting which clan and which individual member created the map.

• An optional uniform system. One of Halo 4 & 5's biggest issues with clans is the lack of a level playing field for emblems, as well as a lack of control over armour unlocks: - The clan leader would select a clan-wide emblem & armour set from the ones they have unlocked or purchased (we don't know what system Halo 6 will use) & set this as the 'uniform' for one of the ranks. - The uniform would be an overlay over your existing profile. For example you may be wearing Security/Venator and this is what you will see in your armoury, but in-game you will be wearing the uniform. Your emblem will also be covered up by the clan one. - For example, you could use a Military Police/Soldier combination for grunts and low ranked members, or a Warrior/Mark VI combination for higher members and set these uniforms to each rank. - Uniforms could be set to permanent, timed (IE they activate at 7pm GMT and turn off again at 8PM), or a simple on-off button which could be enabled by clan leaders or ranks which have privileges to use it. - This also removes the rather annoying set-up required for all new members, as they can simply be recruited into the clan through an in-game invite, then the leader will have control over the clan uniform.

• Clan-wide announcements. A small, translucent pop up would appear on the bottom right of the screen, bearing a message from the leader or a member with privileges to send it. For example, if the leader requires a raid team, they could send this announcement, followed by a clan-wide invite.

• A developer made raid gametype, which could be customised: - A potentially big issue in raids can be friendly fire - since teams aren't used and clan matches are very rare these days, you could potentially fire on one of your allies, giving the enemy clan an easier time in killing them. - With a formal raid gametype, clans could tailor the time-limit and set informal teams. These teams would not forcibly change anyone's colours, but would place friendly service tags over your clan's heads at all times. The host of the lobby would set each player to these informal teams. - Other features could be implemented such as Rules of Engagement settings, which could be set to automatically end the game as a victory for the defending clan if anyone on their informal team is killed within an agreed spawn area, for example, if spawn killing was disallowed by both clans. This idea is admittedly a bit far fetched but this is a thread for ideas like that.

Over to you r/halo.
