Posted: 19 Jan 2018 04:06 AM PST Something that I enjoyed in New Vegas (particularly with GRA installed) was the premium weapon options, including uniques, offered by companies like the Gun Runners. They cost a bomb but were really good, looked great and it made sense with their production facilities that the Gun Runners could produce such items. It was something to aim for and collect at higher levels. Fallout 4 doesn't really have an equivalent to this. Most weapon vendors are solo enterprises and even the uniques they sell are very cheap and easy to acquire. While the most technologically advanced organisation, the Institute, doesn't produce much in the way of weapons. A cool premium weapons vendor is definitely something I'd like to see in the next game, perhaps with an expanding inventory if you did quests that could improve their manufacturing capability or production quality. What are your thoughts? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 19 Jan 2018 02:35 PM PST I'm just going to start by saying that this particular event has probably been touched on in a handfull of other posts since the game came out, but when I wandered onto this particular scene in FO4, I got CHILLS. I've got 3 main story completions in the game, and never managed to wander through Fraternal Post 115 until now. Super mutants dealt with, boxes looted, comic collected, land mines 'sploded, ..wait. Speech microphone? "War. War never changes." The Lone Wanderer has been waiting two hundred years to give the speech he was practicing in front of that mirror. Rocked my socks off. Tl;dr: I found a small bit of flavor that Bethesda left for us, and am hoping that others had this same case of immersion feels upon accidentally mousing over the same location. [link] [comments] |

Fallout Diorama - scratch built Posted: 19 Jan 2018 02:05 PM PST https://i.imgur.com/qBdadAc.jpg Hey Everyone, I just finished work on a Fallout inspired diorama in 1/72 scale. Thought you all may like to see! More images of different angles and such over on imgur: https://imgur.com/gallery/RGmIY This was fun to make. Modified some Caesar Miniatures figures to look the part. The super mutant is a Mantic orx figure with a different head. If you like this sort of thing and want to see more dioramas check out my blog www.soulsinminiature.com It's mostly Dark Souls dioramas (go figure) but I'm working on other dioramas for other games I love. Let me know what you think, and please share any stuff you might have made like This! I like seeing other people's work [link] [comments] |

Fallout New Orleans faction ideas Posted: 19 Jan 2018 10:37 AM PST Okay so I started to think about what would probably be a few missed opportunities in case this game ever got made. A Mardi Gras themed raider faction Voodoo cultists A faction of creole ghouls A faction of ghoul elite Last but not least a group of slavers that have exclusively employ robots Feel free to expand upon these ideas or voice your own I just wanted to start a discussion about a game concept with limitless potential [link] [comments] |

Do you think Fallout 4 is better than Fallout 3? Posted: 19 Jan 2018 03:22 PM PST So I've now played each Fallout game since 3, and after reading/ watching videos comparing them all, it seems like lots of people on reddit and the rest of the internet all share the opinion that FO3 and FONV are fantastic and that FO4 isn't near as great. Personally, I think Fallout 4 is quite a lot better than 3. I know some things may come down to opinion, but 4 does so many things better than 3 (and it should, being 7 years newer). I do think for its time, the gameplay, progression, customizability, and "role-playing" ability of NV does make it the best Fallout (of the three mentioned- I have yet to play 1 or 2). For 3 and 4 however, 4 seems far better. While some people understandably don't like a voiced protagonist, lackluster DLC's (minus Far Harbor (and Nuka World if you like it)), no level cap, no weapon/ armor repair system, the changes to the perk/ S.P.E.C.I.A.L system, and also the VERY early suit of power armor you receive, among other things, I feel like the goods outweigh the bads when looking at FO4 to FO3. The removal of a level cap can be seen as a negative, however it allows for people new to Fallout to try out many different things on their first play through, but it still allows you to have specialized builds, whether that be melee, energy weapons, stealth, etc. Invest a few points here in the beginning, and boom you're good. The character creation system is improved dramatically in FO4. In 3, it's very difficult to get a character just how you want them, because moving one slider may move another out of place, and the frequent change in lighting makes it hard to tell what a color of hair or skin will look like. In 4, you're in constant good lighting, and being able to drag your nose, chin, etc wherever you like ensures you get it just where you want it. Fallout 3 is also very linear as far as the end result of the main story goes (spoilers in this paragraph). Okay we did project purity and we A) left it as it was and destroyed the Enclave or B) we ridded the world of anything and everything with any radiation. Not to mention that without Broken Steel, your game ends abruptly with the completion of the finale mission. No killing any remaining enclave, no doing any type of radiant quest, you either reload an old save and always have project purity still at bay or never return to that save. (More spoilers in this paragraph) In Fallout 4, compared to 3, the story is much more up to you. If you truly despise synths and anything not human, there's a faction for you. If you think those new synths that are basically humans deserve a shot at life, there's a faction for you. If you want to bring justice and order to the commonwealth and it's inhabitants, well how bout that another settlement needs you help. And lastly, I don't really know, if you prefer synths to humans then I guess there's a place for that. Underground but still. Next, in FO3 the "open-worldiness" is fine out in the "plains" (is that the word to describe it?) however as for exploring Washington DC and the historic buildings around it, exploration is very slow and difficult. You can't walk directly from A to B half the time because there's debris that you can't climb over, and while the subway system was interesting and had some cool places relating to it, it got very annoying to be in the dark half the time because you wanted to walk to a building that was basically next door to another. I'm gonna stop now because I feel like I'm really just ranting at this point and not considering this that and those. I still definitely enjoyed Fallout 3 and I might try and 100% it soon, but Fallout 4 in my eyes towers over it. I know being 7 years older Fallout 3 should be worse. But for all the praise 3 and NV get and the hate 4 gets, I think it's crazy people prefer 3 to 4 given all the things 4 does much better. If you'd like to hear more let me know I'll take some time and add some more thoughts in a reply/ comment. Thanks for reading this long hunk of words 👍 [link] [comments] |
Fallout 3 in a low-poly style. Posted: 19 Jan 2018 03:36 AM PST Since Fallout 3 is turning 10, I reckon that I would remake Fallout 3 in a low-poly style, with modern-day lightning, etc. But I'm wondering if anyone would like this kind of stuff. Shoot your opinions away in the comments! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Jan 2018 01:58 AM PST Meaning Synths are literally cloned people with a small device installed to control them, how can anyone think that they are just toasters. If they were highly advanced program-run robots, I get it, but they just cloned people. Otherwise, a simple X-ray would do the job. [link] [comments] |
What are your mod recommendations for Fallout 4? Posted: 19 Jan 2018 12:41 PM PST Ive put more than a hundred hours into vanilla, and I'm pretty satisfied thinking I got a lot of what the base game has to offer, so I wanted to take it further. What are your recommendations for PC mods that stood out for you? Large scale or small tweaks, I'm keen on anything. Thank you :) [link] [comments] |
My idea for a setting of a new fallout game Posted: 19 Jan 2018 02:27 PM PST Since I first played fallout,I always had one question in my head: What happened to the rest of the world outside of the USA.I think the best, original and the most interesting setting for a new fallout game(fallout 5) would be China. We are already familiar with situation in America, but how about the other side of the world? The other side in the war? Posted: 19 Jan 2018 02:25 PM PST I'm a huge loot whore and I noticed I was missing my junk jet. I don't use it but had it in display. So I went back to arcjet and there it was. Super weird for it to be all the way back here. [link] [comments] |
How the East Coast BoS could of been hugely more powerful. Posted: 19 Jan 2018 03:56 AM PST I have just had a thought, the BoS just love to blow things up. During the time of Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 the BoS could of gained considerably more facilities and technologies than they do. -Raven Rock: After the player has been to Raven Rock in F3, you kill most of the Enclave there, if you as the player don't blow it up, then if you have broken steel installed whilst you are unconscious the BoS go there and destroy it. Obviously taking it intact would of led to more casualties however the facilities has aircraft hangars, barracks, research facilities and much more. Another point is that the Enclave power armour and tesla armour wasn't taken from the west coast, which means it was likely produced or found at Raven Rock which means in lore at least, there very well may have been a manufacturing facility or a power armour stock pile. A lot of people in the wasteland wouldn't of ever seen the Enclave because if they had they would likely be dead due to the Enclace . Meaning the BoS could re-paint the Enclave armour to their colour and most people wouldn't even link it to the Enclave. They may also have a weapons stockpile here or the ability to manufacture plasma weaponry. -Adams AFB: This is another great location with literally an armoured base crawler fitted with a considerable amount of comms and other facilities and the ability to call down missile strikes. If anyone has played this mission they will know that you literally clear the base crawler before you blow it up so they could have easily kept it around. Some may say the BoS used the salvage to build the Prydwen, even so, it would of been easier to build the Prydwen by disassembling the mobile base crawler than by destroying it then trying to find usable metal from the wreckage that in most cases would need re-working. It is also worth noting that this facilities is where hellfire power armour (which is the joint best armour in F3) was designed and manufactured as far as we know meaning the Enclave had a manufacturing facility here and also a stockpile of materials to make it, so we could of had the BoS standard power armour massively improved or replaced with hellfire making them the best equipped force we have ever seen. -The Institute: The Institute is a marvel of science in the post apocalyptic world, with some amazing research not only on synths but on food production etc which is vital for the world. When you take the Institute for the BoS, you then destroy it, but you only destroy it after basically clearing it of hostiles, so they could of very easily just stayed there and sent there scribes there. Obviously they wanted to end Gen 3 synths, however they still could of used the place to create an army of Gen 1s, and we know the BoS isn't against using robots for defence. They could also use the facilities to improve power outputs, increase crop yields and many other useful things for such a large faction that is developing into a nation. Obviously I understand there may be some reasons for some of the decisions being made, however I just thought it was interesting to see the extra power and facilities that the BoS could of had if they were under different leadership. I am sure there are even more examples but these were some of the ones that stood out. Apologies if any of the above doesn't make sense, I typed this slightly rushed. [link] [comments] |
V.A.T.S. Moving forward to FO5 Posted: 19 Jan 2018 11:26 AM PST So after some thinking and replaying FO3 & NV I've decided that I like the previous versions of VATS a lot better. The ability to actually stop time and pinpoint targets works a lot better in my opinion than the bullet time slow-mo that's in FO4. Also, I really miss being able to disarm enemies by shooting their arms and weapons. I'm sure it's been brought up before but what do you all think of the old time stop VATS vs new slow-mo VATS and what do you want to see in FO5 when it's announced in 2028? [link] [comments] |

Idea for the story of th next Fallout. Posted: 19 Jan 2018 12:19 PM PST I think, it would be very nice, when the next Fallout would be about a war between NCR, Legion and the BoS. All of them are not moraly perfect and a conflict between the ideologie of the 4 factions would be pretty interesting. Alternatively a comeback of the Enclave would be pretty cool. I mean they still have an outpost at Chicago. What ideas do you have about the plot of a new Fallout. [link] [comments] |
Does New Vegas run on Windows 10 Posted: 19 Jan 2018 03:46 PM PST I've already put at least 1000+ on Xbox, and I've basically discovered everything in the game. But in order to get into modding, Im considering getting New Vegas on steam. Does it run well on windows 10, or do you need to install special software to run it. [link] [comments] |

Preston won’t finish when freedom calls Posted: 19 Jan 2018 03:06 PM PST Sorry if this has been asked, I've looked for a while now. I have this save and Preston basically cycles small talk dialogue and won't initiate the conversation required to finish the quest then advance the Minutemen quest line. Is there anyone that could help? [link] [comments] |
Could the fallout4:nv project create the perfect fallout? Posted: 19 Jan 2018 11:01 AM PST Okay so I've racked up about 1800 hours in Fallout New Vegas and for all 1800 the only things I felt held back the experience from being the "perfect roleplaying/fallout game" (in my opinion of course) was the old and limiting engine, the outdated assets used and the obvious lack of polish due to the limited time given to obsidian, everything else in the game such as the story/it's options, the weapons, characters and the games systems were goddamn amazing, most likely thanks to Josh Sawyer and his vision of the franchise. Now I do believe that fallout 4 was highly flawed in it's roleplaying and "fallout like" aspects but none the less it was a good game and although not perfect, the engine the game is built on (the creation engine) is a whole lot better than the gamebyro used for previous titles. Fallout 4s engine opens a whole new realm of possibilities to not only fix Fallout New Vegas' problems but also expand on the greatness the game could have had if it had not been weighed down with its outdated assets/engine. The fallout 4 mechanics and systems are also great, the weapon customisation option and the dynamic systems used for Ai combat and weather (among many other things) would compliment Fallout New Vegas greatly. Let alone the revamped F:NV systems the team is working on. The mod team also has no real pressure to finish at any certain time like obsidian did and things like voice acting are already done so they can do as much polishing, experimenting and testing as they please to maybe create what obsidian had intended to make, and if obsidian was able to create such a great fallout game with what they were given, imagine what Fallout 4: New Vegas could be. Now I truelly believe this is a possibility I'm looking to debate this too so please argue it in the comments. I also believe the same for the TES4 renewal project, Oblivion is in a similar boat to fallout nv where it was held back due to restraints of when the game was created. I also posted this in r/fo4, idk where it belong truthfully [link] [comments] |
