Fallout - What reactions would you like NPC's to make on your player character?

What reactions would you like NPC's to make on your player character?

For example If my character was addicted to chems it would be neat if some NPC commented on my condition saying I look fucked up or I'm starting to turn into a ghoul. Or NPC's either looking down on me or congratulating me when I complete a certain quest.

I'm the father of an 8 month old and a 21 month old. I just started a new game of Fallout 3 for the first time in over five years and for the first time it hit me how utterly irresponsible the dad is for leaving a one year old alone in a room in an unlocked playpen.

I must have played that scene a dozen times and I never noticed until just now. He even closed the damn door. That baby could have gotten hurt and no one would have heard him cry. What a douche.

New to Fallout, Will the US ever “rise again” in the Fallout universe?

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 05:45 AM PST

As the title says, what would it take for the US to get back to where it was before the nuclear war? Would it require a leader to unite communities under one banner essentially? And are there any factions in the timeline that are trying to achieve this?

What was unreasonably difficult for you, but others seem to not have a problem with it? From any game.

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 11:41 AM PST

For some reason on my character I couldn't survive a deathclaw hit no matter what. I had a good amount of health and a high endurance skill, but holy hell, no matter what armor I was wearing, a deathclaw was always a one hit kill on me. Anything that wasn't a baby deathclaw at least. It seems like no one else had this problem, and I didn't have it on other playthroughs, but for my first main full playthrough, deathclaws hold true to their name. I didn't clear out quarry junction until I was level 50 and it was still a pain in the ass.

Anyone else have a similar thing that was especially difficult for you and only you?

Ulysses Opinions?

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 05:07 AM PST

What do y'all think about Ulysses, and Lonesome Road in general?

I really liked it. Kinda linear, but then again, it is a goddamn road, so... yeah. I love ED-E, even if all he did was beeping. I play a Stealth Sniper, and the first time I saw the captions "Stealthy Sneaking" I laughed for longer than I should have.

Imo, Ulysses has an amazing voice, but most of his dialogue just goes over my head. Bull, Bear, Bull, Bear, all I could think about where some of the boxers from the Wii Punch-Out.

Anyways, what do y'all think of the DLC? Especially Ulysses's character.

The Brotherhood ending of Fallout 4 is so damn cheap.

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 08:52 PM PST

Lemme preface this by saying I like Fallout 4 a lot and I think it gets way too much hate. It's not a deep RPG or anything, but it's a great standalone game. But anyways one thing that really sorta irked me about the final mission is the complete lack of creativity. They literally just straight up recycled Fallout 3's final mission beat by beat. When Liberty Prime was unveiled for the first time I just thought to myself "fucking seriously", but I did not think that the rest of the story would again just be a complete rehash of 3. Very disappointing ending for a good game. This was probably discussed multiple times on here but I wanna know everyone's thoughts on this complete cop out.

Does anyone have ideas for a story?

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 01:53 PM PST

Beside work and my passion for games i write a lot. New Vegas is my favourite Fallout game, i just love the whole atmosphere and the characters that live or lived there. Thats why i decided to write a story in this universe. I want to write something.. deep and impactful. The reader should be able to empathize with the whole story. So does somebody have any characters i can write a story about? I was thinking of Raul, Vera Keyes from the Dead Money Dlc and Randal Dean Clark the "Lone Survivor" from Honest Hearts.

Does anyone else read their character's dialogue out loud before clicking on it in older games?

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 09:59 PM PST

It really helps the role-playing and it's kind of fun too. I like changing the voice for every character I make. If it's a zero INT moron, I try to sound like one. If he's a cold, mean bastard, I do a stereotypical tough guy voice. It's harder to do it with female characters, but I try.

Why was the Vault Dweller in Fallout 1 not given any armor or better weapons?

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 03:09 PM PST

I get why from a gameplay perspective, but story wise it doesn't make sense because the overseer had already sent out other people who died before they could even get out of the cave. They could've given the vault dweller something more suitable to survive the wasteland.

So I’m replaying Fallout 4 and I’m wondering whether or not there are any early places too loot and what mods are worth using for PS4?

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 10:03 AM PST

I've just left Vault 111 and I'm wondering what places other than Concord, Sanctuary and the Red Rocket are worth looting?

Then there are the mods; what PS4 ones do you guys recommend?

Do you want to see a Fallout game set outside of the United States? If so, where?

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 09:21 AM PST

Personally I don't really mind where the game is set, as long as the next one has a somewhat varied environment. And I understand that most countries would probably look very similar given the fact they have just been nuked.

If I was to choose a design/setting for a map, I'd want one that's got: •A reasonably large city •A decent snowy area, maybe some mountains? •A fairly large and possibly dense forest, explained either by radiation encouraging vegetation growth (if that's even a thing) or an institute or some other science based faction experiment to bring nature back •Id prefer the map to be inland, because there isn't too much you can do with the ocean anyway (imo) and id prefer just a large lake and some rivers as the main water source

These are just my wants in terms of what the map is. I think either somewhere in Northern America or Central Europe would best match my wants

Are there any mods on Xbox One that let you get rid of wild grasses in settlements?

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 05:29 AM PST

I really love the building aspect of Fallout 4 but can't get over the unsightly grasses that just clip through my buildings, is there any way to fix this?

Is Dungeon Drain one of the worst things about FO4?

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 01:27 PM PST

While I certainly don't mind spending hours in factories and exploring, the slight uniqueness to each quest, there becomes a point where dungeon drain kicks in. Dungeon Drain, to me the drain you feel after spending hours and hours of game doing the same thing- clearing out complex dungeons with little to no variability. It seems like an easy way to devs to stuff more hours into the game play-through, but in FO4 it's so common it becomes a tedious and unengaging task that kills replayability and adds little to the story.

I'm curious if other players feel the same way?

Question: What does everyone think the song that Travis on Diamond City Radio broke?

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 09:54 PM PST

When listening to the Radio, you hear him say "Well I uhh just broke the song I was uhhh about to play, so I guess it's time for some Danny Kaye"
Any ideas?
