Fallout - Doug Deathadome's Dimmsdale Deathadome, a Raider settlement

Doug Deathadome's Dimmsdale Deathadome, a Raider settlement

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 08:54 AM PST

Here's my Startlight drive in Dimmsdale Deathadome Raider settlement.

:: Quick Backstory to the settlement::

The Town was established long before the raiders took over. It was a nice prosperous settlement of high class wastelanders with little old west style homes living a simple life, as slavers. Who particularly liked sipping Nukacola from teacups and watching their slaves fight for their lives in the Starlight Dome Arena for the Slavers entertainment. Years went by of this horrible practice until one day a Starlight Dome Champion named Doug gathered up all skilled arena fighters and started a revolt and the slavers were overthrown quickly in the cover of night. with the tables turned on the slavers they were at the mercy of the Doug and his ex-slave friends, and they saw no mercy from them either. Doug's group of vengeful ex-slaves rounded up the slavers and put them in the Starlight Dome's Arena and released a hungry death claw in the Arena with them, with no weapons none survived. The screams could be heard for miles. The other ex-slaves were horrified with Doug's and his friends actions banished them from the settlement. Doug and and his friends left... 5 years later Doug returns back, and with him he has a convoy of raiders. Doug and his new raider friends attacked the peaceful town and enslave the survivors. The town is renamed in his name, as champion of the Starlight arena and liberator of the Starlight Dome ("two times!" -Doug) he believes the town belongs to him.The gates will open soon the raiders need food and entertainment. Starlight Dome Arena, shut down long ago by the ex-slaves, was reopened under the name of Doug's Tribe. Now he sits back and gets fat while watching people fight for their life in the Dimmsdale Deathadome pit.

What would be a real-world Fallout Universe feature of a Pip Boy?

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 01:14 PM PST

In the video games, the Pip Boy is exactly as much as a necessary for game menus.

If "Fallout Earth" actually existed in a parallel universe, what features do you think a Pip Boy would actually have?

[edit] full disclosure: I'm running a tabletop Fallout universe RPG. I'm going to give the characters a Pip Boy, but wanted to flesh out the feature set quite a bit.

What's your favorite settlement that you've built up in Fallout 4?

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 03:06 PM PST

For me Greentop Nursery, Finch Farm, and Abernathy Farm are my top three. All three have enough space for me to play around in, but not so much that covering it all is a huge hassle, like Sanctuary.

Side question: What location were you disappointed couldn't be turned into a settlement after you cleared it? For me it's probably Quincy.

Real question for people who build elaborate settlements - why?

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 12:30 PM PST

Not shitting on anyone who does, but I don't understand. Why do people spend so much time building these grand, crazy settlements? It feels, to me, like playing Minecraft on the fallout engine, and takes time away from... killing stuff, I guess. S, are you all just builders who play games like Minecraft, or is there another reason I'm not seeing?

Fallout 3 Mesmetron Question

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 02:27 PM PST

So I read on the Wiki and it says that if you want to enslave anyone with the Mesmetron that are not the 4 from Strictly Business quest, there is a certain chance of me actually being successful. Most of the time I get really unlucky and am unsuccessful. Is there a way to raise that chance? Having a higher Luck? High energy weapons skill?

My fellow Fallout PC players

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 11:47 AM PST

So I'm a die hard Fallout fan, never really played too much modded Fallout as I only recently got a PC about a year ago and mostly played on console. But I was interested in added some mods that are not too game breaking and that are enjoyable to use. Additional weapons (guns that actually fit in the game, not those overpowered ridiculous ones,) same with armor mods and other mods that will still keep the vanilla Fallout 4 fresh and clean but without breaking the nostalgia feel while keeping it fresh and new at the same time. If anyone has some really good mods I can try out please let me know

What's the favorite low-tier weapon in any Fallout game? Why?

Posted: 19 Jan 2018 06:09 PM PST

your*

Use your own judgement of what "low-tier" means. Think of the weapon equivalent of an entry-level fast food job.

Mods to make Doctor’s Bags work like they did in the classic games?

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 01:35 PM PST

I was curious if there were any mods that made doctor's bags work like they did in Fallout 1 and 2, by increasing your Medicine skill and being usable multiple times, instead of just healing limbs? I think this would be a better alternative to lugging around hundreds of stimpaks.

Quest doesn't update (Call to Arms) - What to do now?

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 01:33 PM PST

The last quest point of "Call to Arms" is the exit the location. I did that long ago but the quest doesn't seem to update itself.

Screenshot

I assume this is a bug? Fallotu 3 had similar issues on my system.
How do I proceed? Is there some cheat code I can use to do check it off manually?

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 01:19 PM PST

What is Chief Hanlon's plot with the whole miscommunication of data over radios thing? I don't really get what he's up to or how my character should react, can someone explain the plot for the quest (Return to Sender) ?

Fallout New Vegas: what is the best way to kill a deathclaw?

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 01:25 AM PST

Frikin hate these things and basically none of my weapons work on them. Also I have the TEA DLC installed so.

Also apologies to my idea on the old fallout game remaster. I realise that Bethesda would just ruin it so.

Should backfiring be a thing in the next FO installation?

Posted: 19 Jan 2018 08:51 PM PST

Think about it, you have a weapon that you just picked up off a raider or that you use a lot and don't really maintain as much as you should. Over time, as its condition deteriorates, the probability that it back fires on you increases. More powerful weapons will cause more backfire damage. This would necessitate the need to pay attention to your guns so you don't accidently crater yourself with a mininuke. Good or bad idea? You decide.

Do you think Fallout 4 is worse than Fallout 3 and New Vegas?

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 11:34 AM PST

For me it just doesn't have a compelling story but overall I think it's a good game

I heard "bootcamp" can get it working for me but I don't know how to use it. (I'm kind of clueless about computers) Does anybody know about bootcamp and if it would fix my problem?

How do I make my weapons even more powerful?

Posted: 20 Jan 2018 12:09 AM PST

I have a few weapons where the mods increase the damage. However, I see people have the same weapon with the same mod but with higher damage? Let's say the Tesla Rifle. I know there are perks but which ones?
