To the Tank that was in my group last night in ICP

Posted: 08 Jan 2018 08:42 AM PST

Thanks man! That was BADASS! Props to you

I am writing this post to thank the tank I was in a group with last night doing the daily pledge for ICP on PC NA. The story goes I popped in the group as a healer and they were the 2nd boss in ICP - the poison swamp one. Things werent looking so hot as the DPS werent pulling good numbers and I as the healer was doing about 20% of the damage. No biggie, Im patient and its still early in the night. Really want dem keys and finish the ICP quest for dem skill points.

Finally after some Dc's and rough patches, we reach the last boss Lord warden. We all know this fight is pure suck if you are not very experienced with it. So after 20 - 30 or so attempts I was about to call it quits,... So the round starts off pretty bad. I die from being cheesed by a portal only accepting 1 person. Get rezed and the team dies a few times but honestly mostly from the cheese portals. I mean I kept getting blasted by the pewpewpew attack even if it wasnt at me and my block didnt seem to want to work.

But somehow me and the tank "on a few separate occasions" managed to rez the rest of the team from the brink of death - 1 alive 3 dead - and we get the boss to 5% or so health and EVERYONE BUT THE TANK DIES! So the tank is last oen left running around dodging the portals, weaving between the orbs and looking for our bodies. Realizing that he does not got time for this shit and the boss is super low he starts wailing on the boss. I hear the shnnk shhnk sounds from the tanks attack just slowly lowering boss's health. It must have been a solid minute of pure adrenaline pumping action while both sides are getting beat down. Tanks arent very good dps so it went slow. So at the last moment the tank gets hit with the PEWPEWPEW attack AND then followed up with a portal jump attack! I was sure tank would die with the 20% health he had from before the fall from the portal. Somehow the tank lives and drags the boss to a clearing and wails on the boss as best they can. They are both at a sliver of health and then...

I see my revive symbol pop up.... oh no .. we must have lost :'(....dark despair washed over me.

We were so close... I looked over and see something moving about. It was our tank. HE IS STILL ALIVE! WE WON!!!! OMG! THE INTENSITY!

GJ tank! That was so intense. One of the best moments in ESO history for me right there.

FYI, thankfully, the storage chests count as a collectible under the larger trophy/bust limit and NOT under the pet/mount/assistant limit.

More than acceptable compromise, IMO.

First vMOL clear from my Guild, Wipes on Trash

Posted: 08 Jan 2018 10:11 PM PST

It feels great to finally have the clear. What makes it so good is that we worked as a guild to do it. There is nothing wrong with running with a guild that already knows what they are doing and getting your clear...but there is something special about collectively smashing your heads against the keyboard for 3 months 'til you get it.

We met 2 nights a week for 2 hours each night and it took us about 2 months to get The Twins and another month or so for Rakkhat. The last two times we faced the twins we didn't wipe once.

The point of this post is for me to let out a little bit of excitement, but also to encourage other new guilds. It's a rough bunch of fights at first, but after 3 months (of relatively small commitment each week) we are blowing through the place up until the last boss. Just make sure the DPS you are bringing are parsing minimum 25-30k. It seems like a lot when you are new, but with practice it isn't so hard. I've spent hours and hours on the dummy and went from the low 20s in DPS with around 500CP to over 40k on multiple classes on the dummy at max CP. If you put in the effort, you WILL get there.

Last but not least, be good teammates. Nothing makes a raid night worse than negative attitudes. I'd rather wipe all night with people having fun than to do great but have bad vibes floating around. Good luck to those still trying to clear!

Alit Justice

Posted: 08 Jan 2018 11:16 AM PST

I was running around Morrowind and saw a chest. I stopped to open it when an Alit I hadn't noticed attacked me. Just as I delivered the deathstroke, some [insert expletive] runs up and starts opening the chest. I howl against the injustice , but before the other player gets the chest open, another Alit appears (I assume it was chasing them.) It ignores me and attacks the other person, so I open the chest while they fight their Alit. They take a couple of swings at me to show their displeasure, but I ignore them and hop on my mount and continue on my way laughing my fool head off at the Alit justice. Some days I take pleasure in the small things of life...

I wish there was an ESO companion App!

Posted: 08 Jan 2018 11:23 AM PST

Playing WoW Legion I've come to love the Legion Companion App for android. Being able to get in some WoW-ness while on the train or a free moment at work.

I would love to have something like this for ESO. What would be great would be the ability to do crafting remotely.

Right now I leave my house, go out and find adventure, and love it. What I don't love (but still enjoy) is after I finish one of my adventures, before I can start a new one I head back to town to churn through all my loot (selling, deconstruction, improvement, saving for research etc). I would love to be able to manage this offline, maximizing my adventure time when I log in.

What do you think? Useful? Potentially possible in the future?

do i have to delete a char so i can get my free chest?

Posted: 09 Jan 2018 12:09 AM PST

it seems like a bit unfair that the players who already have 14 chars leveled beyond lvl 18, will be unable to get a free chest for they home, though i would very much like to avoid the 100 voucher price that the coffer will have.

zos, plese reward your loyal players too, mybe givethose who have a cp of 690 that same free chest or something. dont just bait new players, think of the existing playerbase

PSA: Target Skeletons do NOT count as "Boss enemies" for OB cooldown on the PTS

Posted: 08 Jan 2018 02:23 PM PST

Tested this with multiple types of dummies (3m, 6m, 52m). There is no Off-Balance cooldown on any of the Target Dummies. So any parses that you're doing on the PTS will NOT be reflective of a boss fight (where there is an Off-Balance cooldown).

[PC/NA] Is there an interest in a Trials 101 type group?

Posted: 08 Jan 2018 12:17 PM PST

Our guild has been discussing how we can give back to the awesome community that is ESO (PC/NA). We realize there are many folks out there who, for what ever their reason, may not have access to a guild or group that runs Trials or you simply feel "not ready" or "uncomfortable" and have written Trials off as something you might not see (though you would like to!) We are discussing setting up a prelimary event in which we take would take 8 folks at a time that are interested on a Normal Mode Trial of their choice. Comprised of one of our own Tanks, Healer and 2 DPS the other 8 would be from the community (you guys!) and could really bring any roll they would like. The run would take place in our voice coms (you only need to be able to listen, though chatting is encouraged!) and the entire session would be laid back, no rush and a bit of a Q&A session for those interested. We would highly suggest ya bring a beer or other adult beverage of choice, we will be!

So, I would like to hear from folks here, is this something you would be interested in?
