Can we just stop?

Posted: 03 Jan 2018 09:09 AM PST

I like how everyone is saying shit about the other side but we need to stop.

For survivers: If a killer is camping because your teammates are surrounding the hook, how is that poor man supposed to get a kill? Let your team rescue you right before their eyes and got to the other side of the map?

For killers: If a surviver you find pallet loops why do you get mad? How else is that poor guy suppposed to survive? Stop and let you kill him/her?

Can we just please stop and play the game without salt and blaming each other for using tactics? Saying these things in this game is like saying "How am I supposed to get kills if that guy has a sniper and he shoots me everytime?" in CoD. Does it make sense? No. Maybe don't go in that snipers vision. Everyone wants to win because we are humans and we have a competetive nature. Can we just learn to adapt and get better at the game as players instead of whining? Maybe?

New Player. This Game Has The Weirdest Community.

Posted: 03 Jan 2018 04:38 AM PST

Had this game less than a week, absolutely love playing as the killers. I've gotten SO much abuse post-game whenever I've won and the reasons are baffling.

Camping a hooked player - Are you sure I wasn't using them as bait, like a fucking supernatural uber-killer would?

Going after the weakened player - Apparently this is called tunnelling. It's not my fault your injured ass is the slowest. Survival of the fittest.

Escaping and leaving someone hooked - Again, survival of the fittest. I'm no idiot - see point one. You're bait.

Spending ages trying to escape as the last survivor and not just submitting to the killer - I got reported for this, apparently. Aren't I supposed to be trying to stay alive?

All of this reeks of dumb 'honour' stuff kids had, like 'no throws' in Street Fighter or whatnot. If you're the killer, who gives a damn about how much fun the survivors are having? Get 'em killed! If you're a survivor, get out by any means necessary!

I don't see why every single strategy has some kind of negative connotation to it. If you're in a game with me, you bet I'm going to camp one of you when you're hooked if I need to formulate a strategy to get a few of you limping. Surely, just leave that poor guy hooked and go do generators while I'm wasting my time 'camping'?

How do you keep warm in the winter?

Posted: 03 Jan 2018 12:17 PM PST

Some people use heaters

Others use campfires

People use blankets

Warm clothing

I use Dead by daylight....cause you'll be heated in no time.

The moment when you truly ascend

Posted: 03 Jan 2018 02:11 AM PST

Not sure if anyone knows this but Overcharge actually gives bonus progression if you hit it.

Posted: 03 Jan 2018 04:41 AM PST

It has to be a bug, right? I mean, it says it doesn't in the description... but it does.

https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Overcharge

You can see it in "Survivor POV"

I mean, this perk is already not that great (unless you combine it with unnerving presence or some crap), so it'd be nice to have this removed...

Right this way, sorry to keep you waiting.

My offerings shouldn't be consumed if the killer leaves before the match even begins.

Just lost a Purple consumable for the 5th time like this. Why is this still a thing?

Feelgood post about why I didn't get double bloodpoints

Posted: 03 Jan 2018 05:01 AM PST

So double bloodpoints kicked in this past week, but the timing was sort of poor on my end. The day after Christmas, I was going to Canada to meet my girlfriend and her family in person for the first time. Long story short, we met by chance online and have been playing games and watching shows together over Skype.

Now, she didn't really know what this game was before we started talking, but now she loves it. Going back to the bloodpoints, I realized that from the day I arrived to the day I left, double bloodpoints would be going on. However, while I was visiting, she wanted to play. She hasn't played a lot but has one survivor maxed out, so I thought "why don't we take turns so we can get you some more bloodpoints" and that's just what we did.

Every now and again during the day we would hop on and play, and I have to say it was super fun. So I may not have gotten double bloodpoints for myself, but I did for someone else. It was worth the trade to meet her and her amazing family. I'm planning another trip whenever I can to see them again. I'm not 100% sure, but trading in double bloodpoints for a chance to meet the girl I may marry one day is definitely worth the trade.

Bloodlust Rework Idea

Posted: 03 Jan 2018 12:48 PM PST

Trying to keep this opening short for the meat of the post but basically, bloodlust, while an effective bandage, has nonetheless been a bandage fix for chases since implementation. A friend of mine who is an avid player, as well as myself, have talked much about what we thought a fun, more skill based way to handle bloodlust would be. The idea we came up with is making Bloodlust a type of bar that fills with chases that allows each killer a new and unique ability to use. These are some examples we came up with.

TRAPPER. Borrowing more from the idea of his perk Brutal Strength and his overall physique, the Bloodlust ability for the Trapper would be an on activation speedy pallet destruction. He can still be stunned if the pallet is dropped on him, as skill should be rewarded, but if the survivor doesn't realize that bar was filled and stuck around a pallet they dropped or dropped it a little too early, the Trapper can activate Bloodlust to basically walk right through one, destroying it and causing minimal slowdown.

HILLBILLY: For the Hillbilly, we had two seperate ideas, one was making his Bloodlust bar more of a "burn" bar, where instead of it needing to be full, you could simply anytime hold the Bloodlust key to burn it and give the Hillbilly better handling during a chainsaw sprint. The other idea was a course recorrection ability. If you were doing a chainsaw sprint and missed, while still sprinting, you could tap the Bloodlust button to drain the bar and allow him to turn on heel 180 degrees in a direction based on your heading (left or right) when you activated it. You could cancel the 180 turn at any time before completion to come out early and continue the sprint from that heading.

HAG: From mud puppet to blood puppet. When the Hag's Bloodlust bar is full, she gains the ability to teleport out of the blood pool closest to the closest survivor. Obviously there would be a max range but the idea is it forced survivors to keep moving if they are close to her for one, but allows for teamwork to cause disorientation if another survivor that is injured gets closer to the Hag when she is attempting to use it on a chased different survivor. Could also be countered by stopping near a pallet and allowing her to use to stun her when she comes out it if you think its the way that will save you.

I could go on, but if this post gains any traction, I would honestly like to see what the community could come up with more. I feel a change like this would add a little more skill play to the game as well as give some more individuality and fun to the Killers.

Matchmaking QOL idea.

We enter a lobby as ready with the option to unready. Thats it. There is almost no reason for the hold up before every game.
