Boredom in Civ 5

Posted: 01 Jan 2018 06:25 PM PST

I've been having some trouble truly getting into civ 5. The first 100 or so turns are great, but I run out of things to do. Eventually, I have too many workers, not enough things to be worked, and an unstable economy. It comes to a point where my only option is to go to war with another player, unless I just want to be tinkering around for another 25 turns. Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

TIL Warmongering isn't a thing when they declare war on you.

Teddy Roosevelt tried to threaten me with his big stick and I took all his cities. No warmongering penalties, all the Civs think I'm awesome.

What Civ do you expect/hope to see this week?

Posted: 01 Jan 2018 06:33 AM PST

Do you expect to see our other leaked civ (alongside Chandragupta) Or do you expect to see something different in the next few days? Who do you have hopes for with RaF?

too hyped

New leader tease (probably Cree): "Good leaders never look back or sit beside the trail. Great ones press onward."

Just got Civ V, when should I buy/try G&K and BNW?

Posted: 01 Jan 2018 07:42 PM PST

I recently bought Civ V during the Steam sale and just completed my first game last night. I'm still trying to get used to the gameplay, but was wondering when's an appropriate time until I buy and try out the expansions - especially since the Steam sale's almost coming to an end.

Should I hold off and play vanilla until I get a better feel for the game, or should I just jump in and buy and play with them on now? Do the expansions make the learning curve for a newbie steeper?

Also, since I'm not able to buy the complete edition (regional lock), are there any individual DLCs worth getting?

(Civ 5) Mod troubles

Posted: 01 Jan 2018 07:38 PM PST

So I made a mod called Pausanias of Sparta and uploaded it to the steam workshop, and even though I subbed to it I can't find it in my mod list. Any help appreciated!

Enable/Disable mods

Posted: 01 Jan 2018 06:38 PM PST

I am unable to enable or disable mods in Civ 6. Both DLC's and user mods. Is this a known issue?

I had mods installed then unsubscribed from Steam. I then installed two DLC's. If I re subscribe a mod that I already had, it still doesn't allow me to enable the mod. Please halp!
