I'm very, very happy with Zelda BOTW

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 03:56 AM PST

Hey guys,

I must be honest, I never, ever, played a Zelda game in my life.

So, this Christmas I gave my daughter (11 years old) a Nintendo Switch. It came with Mario Kart (great game) and I gave her Super Mario Odyssey (which is also great).

But, with her allowance, she bought herself Splatoon 2.
I must say, I was terribly dissapointed with it. I hated everything about the game, from the controls to excessive color and sound hysteria, as well as I found out that it's mainly an online multiplayer game... Which didn't work because I have a type D nat router (whatever that means).
She didn't hate the game as much as I did, but I could clearly see in her expression that she regretted dishing out 60€ for it.

So I went back to the store, and, in spite that they don't refund games, they did give me the option for chosing a different game after I explained all the issues with Splatoon 2.

So, I picked up Zelda BOTW. Brought it home, she didn't like it much from the cover but, after 10 minutos of playing, it was like magic: she loved everything about it!

And... so did I! I was thinking of buying Skyrim (I do have it on PC already, but wouldn't mind it on the Switch), but Zelda's open world, huge pile of weapons and overall items, puzzles, story, and awesome playability are really, really great.

You guys weren't joking when you said it was good!

Ganondorf's Hyrule

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 05:06 AM PST

I really would like to see a Hyrule that Ganondorf has taken over with the Gerudo becoming the upper class/nobility, Hylians being second class citizens banished to the less prosperous parts of Hyrule unless taken as a Gerudo partner, Stal creatures would patrol the night maintaining a curfew which only Gerudo can violate and certain monsters being recognised as legitimate races by his government. You could even throw in the Yiga as his secret service rooting out rebellion. Obviously by the end of the game Link would overthrow all that and return Hyrule back to the status quo but it would be nice to see what Ganondorf's Hyrule would actually look like and function

My Favorite Zelda Games

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 12:12 AM PST

In the next game, what would you like to see in Zelda's design?

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 04:14 AM PST

I really liked BotW Zelda's design. Sure, when the January trailer came out she seemed eerily similar to Link, but as time went on, she became on of my favourite Princess Zeldas in terms of clothing variety and and hairstyles (even though I think she has only 2 hairstyles, ahaha.)

However, apart from giving her adventuring clothes (trousers! finally!) and a blue colour scheme instead of pink, Zelda's design hasn't really changed much over the games. So, I ask you: in the next LoZ game, what would you want Zelda to look like? Personally, I would LOVE to see a Zelda with short hair. Something like this: http://ferisae.tumblr.com/post/59505719624/phew-u-finished-designs-for-link-and-zelda-from

(Zelda designs are midway down the page)

If Nintendo gave us a Zelda with short hair, I'd be over the moon.

What about you guys?

Can't recommend Blossom Tales on Switch/PC for Zelda fans enough.

The game's cover/artwork kept turning me off (screams shovelware in my mind for some reason) but after seeing gameplay reviews I decided to give it a shot. The writing is SO good (Golf Story feels), gameplay/graphics is literally ALTTP/Minish Cap with 2017 polish, lengthy exploration and decently-long dungeons. I can't recommend this game enough for those who have a top-down Zelda itch. My only two gripes are that it's pretty easy so far and I think the character moves kinda slow lol. But, I just finished the first dungeon and the difficulty ramped up, so here's to hoping it continues that way, though I can't be sure.

Only $15 bucks too!

Mini gifts from Nintendo

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 09:43 AM PST

I just found it myself! If you read the newsstories on the Switch regarding Zelda, there's not only some helpful tipps, but also small gifts for your adventure. I don't know if this is common knowledge, or not.

Give me a boss idea!

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 08:43 AM PST

Yesterday, I made a post saying that if you give me a Zelda boss idea, I will come up with a fully-fleshed out boss in another post. So, just give me an idea, it could be what the boss looks like, what it generally does, the room or dungeon you fight it in, or the items needed to defeat it. Please comment your idea.

So why does triforce heroes get so much hate?

I thought it was a blast. Zelda with friends, hell yeah. Single player really sucked though.
