Ono expects SF5 AE to get at least 6 more years which means 6 more Seasons. Translated with Google

Posted: 16 Dec 2017 04:42 AM PST

I'm guessing that could mean that a lot of new and returning favorite characters could get in. By Season 8 if they keep adding 6 characters, it should reach 64 characters total.

original article: http://www.4gamer.net/games/283/G028399/20171213053/

4 Gamer: The release is two years ago. If so, the flow of time is early.

Ms. Ono: However, it is still two years. "Street fighter IV" was the 8 year operation period, so if you learn it, you have to work hard for another 6 years (laugh). While I'm at it, the Tokyo Olympic Games will also come and I will continue to run, in order to reward you for your gratitude. Everyone, thank you for your continuous support.

PSA: If you're on PS4 and looking to pick up SFV Arcade Edition in January, it's better to buy SFV + Character Passes 1 & 2 right now

Posted: 16 Dec 2017 07:07 AM PST

EDIT: Looks like this only applies for NA region unfortunately

SFV AE releases January 16th and will cost $40, right now there is a sale going on (digital) where you can buy SFV for $16, and Character Passes 1 & 2 for $10 and $15 respectively, bringing your total to $41. This way, you have an entire month to grind out that sweet Fight Money in Survival, Trials, and Story mode before Capcom takes that ability away on January 16th, and you'll still be able to upgrade to Arcade Edition for free anyway. The Fight Money that you'll earn by playing through the offline content for 28 characters is ... a lot. Enough for you to be able to afford every character in Season 3 just by using FM. So if you wanted to wait until January 16th to jump into SFV, now is a much better time to do so.

OH and I should also mention that Sony is sending out their Newsletter via email again, which includes a 20% discount code for the PS Store, so if you're lucky enough to receive this, there's even more incentive now.

What would make Ryy a good aggressive character?

Posted: 16 Dec 2017 06:53 AM PST

I was reading the dev comments for Ryu and it seems capcom wants him to be a more in your face character. But from what I've seen it doesn't look like he has many good pressure options.

How would you all rework Ryu to better fit this playstyle?

What non-game sf content would you guys suggest?

Posted: 16 Dec 2017 08:22 AM PST

I'm trying to immerse myself in SF lore before Arcade Edition comes out. Right now my list is the animated SFII movie and (for laughs) SF the movie.

Any other suggestions? (Can be movies, animation, comics etc)

Any Platinum+ Birdies willing to help a Zeku(Me) with the matchup?

Posted: 16 Dec 2017 07:49 AM PST

Ever since MenaRD won CC I've been seeing a lot of Birdies and I just get bodied. I have no idea how to play against this character. No one within my group of friends play him so I was hoping someone here would help me. I play on Steam my CFN is FTK-Destro.

What if Capcom added a universal "absorb" move using the V-gauge?

Posted: 16 Dec 2017 01:20 AM PST

It would be done the same as v-reversal except the timing have have to be the same as a parry, and maybe getting the timing right automatically made your character back dash back to neutral. It would NOT be an attack so it wont be similar to focus attack from SF4, except for the defensive benefits.

It would take away a v-gauge and would increase the defensive options in the neutral. It would be really cool if that same mechanic could be used as a combo extender, but i cant think of any way you can do that

edit: Just realized, my idea is very similar to the FADC part of Focus attacks in SF4

Thoughts?

If you could throw a projectile in real life...

Posted: 16 Dec 2017 10:07 AM PST

...would you prefer to be able to:

  • channel your inner spirit and throw it in a physical manifestation
  • move your arms so fast you shatter the frickin' sound barrier

(drunk talk with friends over which is cooler, help us decide)

Thanks, we know there are other types of projectiles in the SF universe, and we're stuck on which of these two is cooler.

Do any DLC stages have stage finishers?

Posted: 16 Dec 2017 09:09 AM PST

Wondering which I should buy. I bought Guile and Rashid's stages but they lack stage finishers. Would the stages for Ryu (Suzaku Castle), R Mika (Kanzuki Beach), Blarog (High Roller Casino) Akuma (Temple of Ascension), Cammy (English Manor), M Bison (Temple Hideout), Abigail (Metro City Bay Area) or Vega (Flamenco Tavern) have stage finishers?
