It's time for Tactical Realism

Posted: 11 Dec 2017 04:20 AM PST

Ubisoft... with over 100k concurrent players on Steam alone, the "WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH PLAYERS" excuse is moot. Please give us a tactical realism playlist, it's definitely the most fun I've ever had in this game and I'm sure many others can say the same.

With all the great work Ubi is doing with R6, its time to reduce the grind.

Posted: 11 Dec 2017 03:45 AM PST

Ubi is doing an amazing job with R6, especially with the excellent community support, consistent fixes, and updates. R6 is a beautifully constructed game, being one of the best tactical shooter games available. Despite all this, there is one major issue: the grind-wall.

Rainbow is a game that's absolutely centred around tactics and strategy, and the uniquity of each operator, but the grinding needed to unlock them is too much. In a game that has unique operators as it's highlight, there shouldn't need to be a grind to unlock said characters. This is especially true for the DLC operators, costing 25,000 renown each. After buying all the original operators for 500-2000 renown, the game just becomes a grind to earning 25k. Now that we are soon to move into Year 3, it's time that at least the Year 1 operators have their price reduced, in order to serve as a transition point between the original operators and the newer operators. Once the original operators are all unlocked, the game just becomes stale, being restricted to the same ops until you reach that 25k.

I love the work that Ubi has done for this game, but this is something that would really improve it. One of the major reasons for new players not buying the games is because they know the grind they will have to face when they play.

I'm not saying that this is something that has to be done right now, nor is this a complaint or rant. I love this game, but for me right now, I'm just grinding. I can't feel the satisfaction of unlocking all those operators, or trying new weapons and gadgets, and I'm slowly finding the game less enjoyable.

Otherwise, love your work, and keep R6 going!

Edit: I've gotten some responses with the suggestion of season pass or complete edition. I just want to emphasize that it's about the gap between the original ops and DLC ops. Buying the complete edition costs more but also removes a sense of progression.

What I'm suggesting is to reduce the price of Year 1 ops so that there is a transition between the two groups, adding progression without the huge grind in between. If you down-vote, please leave a comment as to why so I can understand the view of others on this topic. Thanks.

Edit 2: Well this kind of blew up overnight, so that's pretty cool, and thanks for all your comments, ideas and upvotes.

Elite uniforms interacting with each other in the MVP screen

Posted: 11 Dec 2017 07:12 AM PST

I just had the idea of elite uniforms interacting with each other in the end game screen if an elite got MVP and you have at least one other on the team. I know Ubisoft has many other more important things to be working on, but I think this could be potentially cool. For example, While elite rook is flipping his bullets, some of them get caught by elite Jäger's ADS. Or elite sledge gets MVP, and Elite thermite lights his journeys end on fire before he swings it around. Just thought this would be a cool/ unique idea that I haven't seen get thrown around on here before.
