Is there any chance of Halo 3: ODST or Halo: Reach Firefight being remastered and/or added onto the MCC? What about Halo: Reach DLC added onto MCC just like they did with ODST.

Fun fact: the halo 5 mission Swords of Sanghelios has the exact same ambient sounds as the Halo 4 map Exile.

[Release] Halo 5 Gun Game v2

A while back, I made a Gun Game mode for Halo 5 using Forge scripting, but it was broken by an update which prevented scripts from despawning weapons held by players. In this new version, I implemented a workaround and made a few improvements.

For those who don't know, Gun Game (also known as Arms Race) is a mode from Counter-Strike and Call of Duty. Each kill, players receive a new weapon in a pre-determined order. The first player to progress through every weapon wins. When a player is killed by a melee, they get set back a weapon.


Overview

  • Progress through 30 weapons containing every non-REQ variant (excluding turrets). For near-identical weapons like the SPNKR and standard rocket launcher, I favored the classic versions.

  • Since it's not possible to differentiate between melee kills and gun kills with Forge scripts, all forms of melee damage (beatdown, Spartan charge, etc.) are disabled in order to prevent players from punching their way through difficult weapons.

  • Weapons are equipped automatically on level-up. In v1, you had to manually pick up each new weapon.

  • Gun Game Fiesta: A variant in which the weapon order is randomized each match.

  • Supports up to 10 players unless the map description indicates otherwise.

If the Halo series had another name, what would you have it be?

We all know Halo gets its name from the Halo rings. The Halo rings are integral to the stories of Halo 1-3 and sort of ODST (Covenant finding the Ark). However, Reach, 4, and 5 are absent of the Halo rings iirc.

The point being, what would have been another great name for the series besides Halo?

Could Halo's name be metaphorical and not just literal?

SWAT really extrapolates a certain issue that has resulted from the weapon tuning

With there being multiple versions of SWAT in the playlist (which in and of itself, is great...) there is an issue with the weapon handling. Something that was really affecting me last night...

I've really been concerned about this anyway, in EVERY playlist and in-game scenario, but seriously, WHY does every weapon feel different to one another? You get a game of Magnums? Great... next game? DMR's... Now I might as well not even be playing on my 4 or 5 sensitivity now, because now it feels like it jumped to 6 or 7, and I struggle to hit a shot up-close, because for SOME reason, the RRR doesn't apply within like 30 meters... When has Halo ever done this?!

So now, by the end of SWAT DMR's, I'm finally getting used to the aim. Next game? BR's... now THAT weapon feels different and I'm flailing the BR around for 3 quarters of the match in (closer) encounters... Magnums again? Man, now I have to learn the aiming all over again!

IMO, this is horrible! ...a terrible way to treat weapon balancing in Halo. They've introduced randomness/imbalances now AGAIN in the very mechanic that has been controversial (and buggy) since Day One... and this is a competitive shooter?

RRR should always be from the player outwards, for one, but weapon properties should be limited to the appropriate range (again, from player outward), damage output, rate of fire, and ultimately time-to-kill... Personally, I think the Magnum feels fantastic and has since H5 launched... take that as a starting point and get the rifles feeling like the Magnum in terms of aiming mechanics, and balance the weapons from there.

The BR can still be a 4SK, the Carbine, 7... or whatever it is. The LR? It's fine... The DMR? Rather than making it feel completely unwieldy, why not slow the RoF wayyy down? Maybe even slower than the scoped LR (as descope isn't as much of a balancing factor) and make it a 3SK?

If they want to reduce role-redundancy, THAT is the way to do it in Halo... We aren't playing some class-based, loadout shooter where the rifleman have well-rounded aim values and then, because I've chosen a heavy machine gunner, my aim is completely different, and clunky, and slow... We are playing a fast, competitive Arena game where you're supposed to hit all of your shots. This is not the way to do it... never was in the past...

This is not the way Halo is supposed to feel. I mean, what good is my sensitivity then, if it always feels like it's changing and works differently from one weapon to another?

How will you react if Cortana is revealed to have logic plague?

Cortana coming back and becoming the villain in Halo 5: Guardians is probably the biggest controversy and most hated decision in Halo ever. There have been several theories about why Cortana has done a total 180 and become evil, the biggest theory being she is suffering from logic plague. The theory says that the Primordial planted the seeds of logic plague in Cortana, and that at some point she would go nuts. From Halo 5, there's no indication or hint that this is the case. However, the Flood loot crate a few months ago seemed to be hinting that this may indeed be the case. How will you react if it turns out that she is indeed suffering from logic plague?

Returning to Halo 5 after a long while, what's the best REQ pack for customization/armor/etc?

So I am getting back into Halo 5 and I don't give a shit about Warzone, so from what I've gotten I can sell a lot of it which is really nice, but from what I'm reading there are differences between the bronze, silver, and gold REQ packs, or at least what each gives you beyond common and uncommon. Question is, if I'm shooting for non Warzone items, like armor, helmets, visors, emblems, etc, what's the best way to go about it or which pack is the best?

Halo 5 - Cannot Play Multiplayer, network issue.

Hello all,

Just got Halo 5 for Christmas and looking to play some multiplayer however... When I select and multiplayer feature it has a red triangle next to the game type and under the playlist details it says "Could not find a suitable server for all members of your fireteam."
Now I'm the only person in my fireteam and all other Xbox Live games work just fine.

Troubleshooting I've tried is the following: Hard restarted Xbox.
Reset router and modem.
Tested with wired and wireless network setup.
Uninstalled Halo 5 and reinstalled.
Had a friend bring his Xbox over and he gets the same thing.
Setup a static IP for my Xbox and established port forwarding per this article from Microsoft..
Changed my DNS to Google's DNS.
Tested outer 343 games (MCC, and it works fine).
Only Halo 5 gives this error.

If I try to create a to create a custom I get a slightly different error message stating "Error retrieving data center connection quality information. Please try again".

My ISP is WoW! (Northeast Ohio) and network speed is 50Mbps Down, 10Mbps Up.

No other devices are on my network

Any suggestions or help will be most appreciated!

Everytime I play Halo:MCC I get a downloading data error

The error appears every single time I try to play Xbox Live MCC. I get a downloading data error. The message never disappears and you can wait for over 20 minutes for it too clear and it still won't. You can't play multiplayer without this message showing up, meaning you can't get past it. The only way to get past it is too randomly cancel after waiting for about 2 minutes and you suddenly just get to the xbox live multiplayer screen and can pick playlists. It's been like this on MCC for about 6 months. Still no fix. WTF. Wondering if its just my account or is widespread.
