What do you think the teaser trailer for Halo 6 show? Posted: 21 Dec 2017 06:57 PM PST I hope it starts out with Chief walking down a hallway in some forerunner structure. He says "I have questions, I will ask and you will answer." as he says that he looks up and it shows a reflection of Mendicant Bias. [link] [comments]

Posted: 21 Dec 2017 02:40 PM PST 343 has been slowly picking up the pieces of the human covenant war and strengthening diplomatic relations between the Swords of Sangheilios and the unsc. It has been bumpy because humans do not trust the "once genocidal" elites. Oni has been keeping tabs on the civil war between sangheili and keeping all options on the table.(even assassinating "friendly" sangheili). Halo 5, HW2 spoilers ahead.... Relations are getting better and halo 6 has the unique opportunity to explore diplomatic relations between all factions during the state of "peace". No doubt ONI propaganda will be against the infinity and SoS. 343 has a chance to reprise some plot from "hunt the truth" and use ONI propaganda. In htt John 117 goes from hero to villain in the public eye. Once cortana takes control of ONI she can start to smear the resistance factions via propaganda. I am excited because with conflict across the galaxy being halted in most places we will be able to explore the universe. I think this game with take place on sangheilios, installation(s) 03/01c, genesis, maybe requiem if they do a flashback, Onyx dyson sphere, meridian, earth. I think the resistance factions will have to gather their forces but also search for huragok to take down/control some guardians. The huragok(engineers) will be found in the onyx dyson sphere, they need to recruit factions on sanghielios and meridian. Genesis and installation 03 will be important because genesis is where the domain can be accessed and I03 is possibly where they can find a piece of mendicant bias. I think certain factions will side with the created. Maybe even some humans will because of their hatred for the unsc/ueg. I think it will mostly be remaining covenant sangheili/ jiralhanae. They will save the banished for the very end(credits) where the two stories intersect. Infinity will have to train spartans, SoS, and others for battle so elites will be able to use the wargames simulation. I personally want 343 to make warzone even more realistic with breachable walls and more realistic elements to balance out other elements. I also wouldn't mind playable heroes/villains like the didact, atriox, 117, tartarus, warden etc... This in addition to turret/destructible wall fortification would make warzone/firefight amazing. In addition to adding some armor abilities like regen, bubble shield, hard-light shield, and hologram. As for the story I think while the resistance is recruiting and searching for tech they will lose a battle that will make john go off on his own half way through the campaign. This is only after they properly develop the main cast blue team, locke, john, lasky, thel, osmin, warden, any other bad guys, exuberant, other AI. If they focus on those characters it will be a good game. The hub areas and codex can flesh out side stories and other characters. Once the resistance faces brutal defeat and loss john will realize that he doesn't want any more of his comrades to die... will go off on his own to find mendicant bias. The game ends with them overthrowing cortana with the help of mendicant bias but throughout the game the didact has been gathering his forces. The audience knows this from the beginning but the main cast does not know until the end. He takes control of the promethean army but is forced to retreat but only after he reunites with mendicant and he(mendicant) reveals that he sent john to requiem to revive the didact. Oni is now controlled by Osmin again and Halseys line that wasn't in halo 5 makes sense. "after this is over they will order them to kill us both". Over the course of the game john has been slandered by oni propaganda for his role in unleashing the guardians and killing innocent people. The end of the game is a time for the colonies to regroup and most colonists still admire john except the insurrectionists. Unsc now has control of some destroyed guardians. The game will completely explain the backstory behind the domain, mendicant, 343gs, composers, and flood. Halo 6 (or whatever it will be called) will end with humans regrouping until they go back to the arc to establish a base where they encounter the banished. First, they run into anders a little earlier on 01c and she warns them about the banished. Humans are confident they can take on anything with the remaining guardians. Death predictions: human insurrectionist will be mostly dealt with and a side story will be the return of 343gs that has been bubbling under the surface for a while. I think halsey will die and so will buck(to be replaced by thorne). The domain/organon has been mostly dealt with in halo 6 but makes an appearnce in the next game. The human conflict elements in the game will add additional grounding to harden the soft scifi elements. Codex will also give hard scifi explanations for forerunner tech. The next halo after (6). Maybe 6 won't even be called halo 6 it will just have a subtitle and the saga will end on 6. (regardless, humans are closer to reclaiming the galaxy) The next halo after is entirely on the arc/earth/partly genesis and HW3 shows the same story from the perspective of the spirit of fire. Half way through this game the Didact's forces show up and devastate the humans and banished. The banished do not team up against the didact but do give the unsc some breathing room. The didact threatens to wipe out humans with the composers but at the beginning of the game the unsc finally captures 343gs and he explains how the composer works and the composer forge. Atriox becomes aware of the mantle and all its benefits and begins his path towards reclamation. The unsc and oni are desperate and unleash a weaponized version of the the flood to slow the didacts efforts to use the halo's to compose the entire galaxy. In a twist, the didact is killed by atriox now that he is preoccupied by the flood.(or 343 gs takes control of sentinels) Mendicant bias makes peace with his father "the didact" and flees to aid the humans/SoS. Story threads from long ago come to fruition and the last halo in the saga ends with atriox trying to use the domain to become a godlike precursor. Atriox is basically stopped by his own arrogance and hunger for power. His forces get stretched thin while the domain rejects him and the he is killed by allied forces on genesis. The domain now officially hands over the mantle of responsibility to the humans. Here is the twist though.... The whole fucking game had rpg elements and your choices affect the outcome.(it is the last game in the saga so fuck it) You can choose to unleash the flood and you can choose to focus more on atriox. Either way the final battle on genesis can happen with the didact instead depending on your choices. Here is one more wrinkle... when the domain hands over the mantle and the power of the domain you have the choice to take it with the sangheili or betray them and take it for humans only. If Osmin is present at this moment she will prefer this outcome. After this 343 can make a forerunner/early covenant game based on broken circle/forerunner saga and a super hard scifi eric nylund game. Then you end the franchise with a neat little bow and 343 makes another exclusive for msoft... During this time there is a show and movie series. After a few years they create an entirely new canon while the old one is set in stone. tl;dr Elites can now train on the infinity and cortana can use ONI to spread propaganda in the "peaceful" era. This allows her to recruit allies while the resistance recruits. I also predict halo 6. [link] [comments]
ONI Candiate Assessment Videos Posted: 21 Dec 2017 03:06 PM PST During the run-up to Halo 3: ODST's release, Microsoft put up a promotional website that contained pre-selection interviews between Buck and Dutch, Mickey, and Romeo. The website is now gone and I'm trying to hunt down the videos, to no avail - anybody have them? It'd be nice for us to get this lost bit of Halo history back. Filenames would be as follows: romeo_1200_1024.flv dutch_1200_1024.flv mickey_1200_1024.flv [link] [comments]

Question about update no need to upvote Posted: 21 Dec 2017 03:34 PM PST I just got a 1.2 gb update for halo 5 and I was wondering what's in it/if there are any patch notes. I haven't played any in the last week or so, so it could have come out any time during that [link] [comments]

Posted: 21 Dec 2017 08:17 PM PST I didn't want to make this thread and I know I'm going to get down voted to hell apparently, but I want to get into the minds of you guys. Why is it that people feel monthly DLC is necessary? I guess I understand the gist of its appeal: Microtransactions in exchange for a non-divided community. Though this was a bit of an issue that I'm glad no longer exists, at the same time I find myself thinking back to Halo 3 and Reach. I know they "didn't have as much competition" and "times have changed". Yeah yeah, to an extent I can agree. But both of those games were jam packed with so much stuff to do at launch that DLC wasn't really needed for most, and people bought them to support Bungie and get brand-new dev content. When people bring this up, they get downvoted, even though in my eyes it seems to be true. Most of the DLC given in Halo 5's monthly drops were old modes/features, map remixes, and guns for Warzone. They got better near the end, but eh. Same goes for Overwatch; 20-ish characters (good start), two modes, like 8 maps, no single player, no offline play, no competitive play, and occasional events that they add in/take out. Titanfall 2; Most modes from the first game taken out, single player added (good thing), DLC is mostly maps from TF1 and cosmetics. Are we advocating for stuff like this? Sure, they might do better next time, I really hope so. I just miss the days games came out finished instead of drip fed over the course of several years. If we're gonna do this Free DLC thing, I'd like the DLC to actually be new stuff. TL;DR - What's wrong with just having a bunch of stuff in the game at launch? Is "Free DLC" truly being handled any better than paid ones? [link] [comments]
When do you think we'll get a Halo 6 teaser and/or 1st info? Posted: 21 Dec 2017 08:15 AM PST So, 2017 has pretty much come and gone, and we got zero info on Halo 6. In the next few months, we'll be getting events such as GDC in March and E3 in June. When do you think we'll get a Halo 6 teaser and/or 1st info on the game? I think probably E3, with a small chance, if not very unlikely that we'll see it a GDC. What do you think? [link] [comments]
