If GTA Online is in the present day, and Merryweather is still running its operations in Los Santos, but it went defunct back in 2013, what does this mean?

I'm tired. But it does intrigues me.

Combat Reviews and Recommendations for All Vehicles and Weapons Added in Doomsday

Posted: 20 Dec 2017 09:37 AM PST

Tl;dr at the bottom for each vehicle

The point of these reviews and recommendations is to look at the vehicles and weapons from a PVP perspective only. Anything that doesn't affect its PVP abilities will be ignored. Recommendations are for customization and weapon changes. These reviews come from first hand experience testing these out in "active combat" with several other avid PVPers who helped make these reviews as well. One thing I'll point out is if I talk about explosive armor resistance it will be assuming 100% armor and someone in the vehicle. Also let me mention again UPGRADE YOUR AMROR ON ALL THE VEHICLES, IT GIVES A HUGE EFFECT ON THE RESISTANCE TO EXPLOSIVES
Also when I say "high powered" and "low powered" I'm talking about different explosive powers. RPGs, sticky bombs, proxy mines, and grenade launchers are examples of high powered explosives. Low powered is mostly made up of homing missiles from various vehicles and jet/savage cannons.

AVENGER
This vehicle is one hell of a powerhouse. Starting with armor it can take 9 high powered, 27 low powered, 5 tank shells, or 23 explosive rounds. Individual motors will cut out after 6-7 RPGs, 8 homing(18 will kill both but not the vehicle and you'll begin to drop), 16-18 explosive rounds, or 2 tank shells(4 will kill both but not the vehicle). This does NOT have active armor meaning auto pilot will take the same amount of explosives to kill. So have no fear parking your death machine in the sky and raining fire down below on unsuspecting civilians. Stored and called on just like the MOC, it can be delivered almost anywhere on the map and provides a great vehicle for most situations. Having the armor of an Insurgent Pick-Up, being able to fly, up to 3 full 360 degree explosive cannons, VTOL, and autopilot makes this borderline broken. The only things holding it back is no countermeasures and no stabilized cameras for the turrets like on the hunter where the aircraft's movement doesn't affect the aim of the turret for the most part. It can reach high speeds once it gets going in a direction in conventional flight mode. Bombs are available and can hold up to 50 of any kind. High RPM Cannons fire high velocity RPGs that have nearly infinite range. These are great for "self defense" when using autopilot or flying around. Also being able to switch freely between each turret without exiting the seat you're in makes it all the better. Very effective as a deterrent against other aircraft being high damage. Skilled gunners can be effective against pesky jets. Very effective against ground targets, air targets, and everything in between. Watch out for anything with strong anti-air potential as even though it has lots of armor it isn't crazy levels like the MOC. I recommend buying the extra turrets for more angles on the turrets. Buy the weapon workshop for convenient special ammo refills. Vehicle workshop isn't necessary as it can by default hold one vehicle and if you already have an MOC with workshop it would be a waste. Bombs aren't needed unless you are skilled with them.

AKULA
Armor wise the Akula stands at a good point of not too much armor but enough to survive some hits. 3 high powered or 3 low powered, 2 tank shells, or 7 explosive rounds to kill. Very swift and agile with race handling means skilled pilots will be rewarded. If you are less confident if your piloting skills then just tone down the handling to smooth to get slower handling. Options to upgrade secondary weapons with either barrage or homing missiles means you will either be more effective against air and some ground targets or be really effective against infantry and ground targets. Barrage is great for bursting down high armor targets or bursting down infantry. Homing is homing and effective as deterrent against many vehicles. Both homing and barrage do the same low powered damage, same as a homing from anything else. But the barrage missiles have a very small explosion radius so make shots count. Gunner seat with either ineffective minigun or 2 ineffective miniguns. Reason being is the camera doesn't auto stabilize as the Akula is moving so all the swinging around is carried over to the gunner. Strong against vehicles. Bombs are available. Holds up to 50 of any kind. No countermeasures available means you are relying on the Akula's main mechanic of going off the radar at the push of a button to either get away, jump someone, or hide. The Akula DOES hide cargo if you take it inside the vehicle and activate off the radar. The mechanic of off the radar is extremely useful for being safe from orbital cannons, traveling without worry for the most part, or like I use it to get the jump on unsuspecting players. I recommend homing missiles with smooth handling for most as it is an easier time flying. More skilled pilots I recommend barrage with race handling and bombs if you know how to use each effectively. Secondary gunner I wouldn't recommend upgrading as it is already very hard to use even in skilled hands.

VOLATOL
Big, loud, clunky, giant target, slow, ineffective guns, and expensive. Classic R. Armor goes 3 low powered, 3 explosive rounds, 1 high powred, or 1 tank shell. Very weak against everything and it's a giant flying triangleDorito . Not very effective against anything but it holds 100 bombs instead of 50 but what's the point when you won't even get off the first 50 without being shot down? Novelty plane if you are into that kind of thing. Princess Robot Bubblegum decal makes this instakill everyone in the lobby, you gain 5 inches, and you become fulfilled in life. /s

THRUSTER
Great to see this back from SA! But it's sadly overshadowed by the hellhole that is GTA Online. Armor goes 1 of either high powered, low powered, or tank shell, or 5 explosive rounds but you still take damage so snack up if you want to survive being hit that many times by explosive sniper. Armor is weak, miniguns are weak, you're almost completely exposed flying, and you have huge delays in between every 2 rockets fired. Fun but mostly useless especially if you're in auto aim. Countermeasures are a nice touch. Recommend missiles and race handling.

DELUXO
Wait til you see this thing falling from the sky in a burning pile at 88 MPH. Armor goes 1 of either High powered, low powered, or tank shell, or 3 explosive rounds same as a normal car. This car is slow, can't dodge, and is mostly ineffective but has some great uses being equipped with 30 Ruiner style missile with insane tracking and the ability to FUCKING FLY. Missiles are low powered. It is a great long distance travel car but is almost useless in combat other than having R2k and flying. Good for sneaking up on things like oppressors, helicopters, and other Deluxos. With the tracking being as good as it is those going against this can forgot trying to dodge them. Countermeasures are one of the three options when being targeted if you want to not be killed. I recommend putting on the missiles and machine guns for "self defense."

STROMBERG
Straight out of a James Bond film comes the submersible Stromberg. Armor goes 1 tank shell, 2 RPGs, 6 homing, or 5 explosive rounds. Explosive resistance is very good for a car, especially because just like it's flying brother it has 30 Ruiner style missiles with crazy tracking. Low powered. Also equipped if submerged is a capacity of 60 torpedoes that are one of the only explosives that properly work underwater. I've heard if the torpedoes go above water they will also have crazy tracking but I can't confirm this. Other than that this car isn't terribly effective at much else besides for a good escape car when you have a bounty. Recommended missiles.

TM-02 KHANJALI
Back from the dead effectively is the OG rhino with some extra parts added on. Armor is 8 of either High powered, low powered, or tank shells, or 20 explosive rounds. Armor is basically the same as the OG unnerfed rhino tank. Less effective against jets/savage and homing but more effective at surviving RPGs and sticky bombs. Proximity mines are available. You can lay down up to 5 at a time and are unlimited. Good for a trap or people following you. The default cannon is basically the same as the Railgun BUT it does not have the high velocity or the ability to flip vehicles on contact like the railgun will do. The railgun like stated before is special because 1. High velocity and 2. On contact it will either flip a vehicle or turn it on it's side. Either one prevents others from running for a split second which is enough time to get more shots in. Uncharged and charged shots do nothing different as far as I can tell except charged shots go further. Both default, charged and uncharged shots have the explosive power of a tank shell. A working MG that has very high damage against players is mounted on top of the tank by default. Very good idea to get a second player firing away with it to get players that are hiding away from the main cannon. Two optional grenade launchers can be bought the add to the fire power but I find these to not be of much use and can even do more harm than good. Grenade launchers are high powered. Recommend railgun but not necessary and proxy mines.

CHERNBOG
Now if you want that jet down, and I mean REALLY want that jet down this might be for you. Armor goes 1 of either tank, high powered, or low powered, or 5 explosive rounds. Weak armor but holy does this yield good results when you can get the shots in. VERY far range lock on with tracking that seems just as good if not better than R2k and high powered explosives means this is only for quick Anti-Air attacks that will most of the time take down that pesky air target. Spamming 5 high power, high velocity, high deployed time, and crazy tracking missiles means it really is a very effective anti-air. Hell the only thing I'm able to dodge in is Buzzard and Lazer and even then only half the time with perfect conditions. But weak armor and no high angling means off the radar is a must or you will go down fast. Use with caution. Not much else to say.

RCV
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Armor is 1 or high, low, or tank or 8 explosive rounds. Windows are normal, not even bullet resistant. Use the Deluxo to go back to 2013 passive mode and make ps3/360 players fear the future.

BARRAGE
Coming at you downhill sideways and with no control comes the mad max wannabe off-road. Armor is actually surprising strong taking 5 high powered, 14 low powered, 3 tank shells, or 12 explosive rounds. Sporting one full 360 degree turret and one permanently rear facing turret it makes for a fearsome offensive. I would say use use two .50 cal miniguns as the default are almost direct downgrades and the rear mounted grenade launcher is hardly effective enough to be worth it. Plating doesn't make a difference in explosive resistance but ALL plating actually DOES BLOCK BULLETS AND SMALL ARMS FIRE! R* is listening! So put at much ugly metal plating on as possible except door plating as all that does is take away the ability to shoot and use throwables. Try to keep your distance in auto aim.

MK II SNS:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Slightly more damage.
Revolver:
One shot all players with hollow points. New heavy sniper.
Special carbine and Bullpup:
Great weapons made even better. Incendiary rounds work great with Bullpup's high RPM.
Pump:
EXPLOSIVE ROUNDS ARE SCARY ON THIS TOO.
Marksman:
Why. Put on a different scope. Either way Auto aim is reduced to trash levels but it still is a very effective weapon in the right hands. AKA most people but hey I don't judge. Free aimers beware of corner shooting marksman meta.

TL;DR

AVENGER
Buy the turrets, put on race handling. Very effective against almost everything.

AKULA
Buy homing for anti-air and some ground. Skilled pilots use barrage and bombs against infantry and maybe against air. Stealth is fun.

VOLATOL
Don't. Novelty plane.

THRUSTER
Buy missiles, I would skip JATO. Mostly ineffective but fun. Good against some air and infantry if you are skilled enough. Not recommended in auto aim.

DELUXO
Buy missiles. Fun but again little use. Use the R2k rockets against small targets and stay away from anything with lock-on. Effective against light armor and most air targets.

STROMBERG
Buy missiles and machine guns. Good escape vehicle and also has R2k rockets. Little use. Effective against light armor and some air targets.

TM-02 KHANJALI
Rail gun will flip other vehicles and are high velocity but not necessary. Grenade launchers aren't recommended. Buy proxy mines. Effective against ground targets.

CHERNBOG
When you REALLY want that air target down. Extreme lock on range. VERY effective against air, use off the radar/ghost to sneak shots in.

RCV
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH Don't

BARRAGE
Buy as much plating as you can except doors, keep doors normal. Buy two .50 cal miniguns. Effective against light armor and infantry.

MK II
Revolver with hollow points is OP. Pump with explosive slugs is scary now. Marksman is now more cancer with auto aim.

ORBITAL CANNON
CANCER

TL:DRTL:DR
Flying things are scary, orbital cannon is now new gta god

Thanks to u/legoak37 and u/_f1ame_ for helping out with most of the "testing." I'll be updating my previous spreadsheet and putting out a more technical post later in the week. So be on the look out fo that.

Playing Santa with your Deluxo!

Posted: 20 Dec 2017 07:55 PM PST

Today i had the most fun in GTA since ages, i recommend you try this! I woke up from a cloudy serverdream and put my Santa suit on. And seeing as i bought the Deluxo yesterday, i wanted to share the wealth with the less fortunate. So i invented a little game... I hopped sessions and in every session i dropped in on the lowest rankt player in the lobby with my santa suit and Jingle-bells horn and let him fly around in the Deluxo for about ten minutes.

The results were awesome. A lot of people really wanted to buy it afterwards but of course Rockstar made it way to expansive. So i hope i made some people happy today by letting them have a taste of the Deluxo... Hope i didn't encouraged them to buy shark cards though.... And it took more then five people before someone began shooting on my arrival (which was surprising), a level 76. Normally i try to find a player between 1-50 and most of them joint me for a ride and took the bad boy out for a spin. Been robbing supermarkets and running/flying from the cops like old times. Having a blast again in Los Santos. Can't wait for the snow

Merry christmas

Can somebody explain why spending $75k to resupply nets me with a loss?

Posted: 20 Dec 2017 04:11 PM PST

OMG? I just lost 735k medium warehouse plane to a bug

Posted: 20 Dec 2017 10:01 PM PST

I was on my last drop off. 9/10 dropped. Solo session cause I'm playing from japan and the game drops everyone for me. I could NOT drop the last crate off at the drop point and lost ALL OF MY PROGRESS and stock. It took me forever to get those crates.

Here's what happened. The last drop off I flew over it, did not get the "Press --> to drop". I said "Huh. okay..." turned around and got lower. Same thing. Turned around AGAIN and got MEGA low to the ground and ended up crashing without getting the "Press --> to drop".

Is there some way that I can get my warehouse reset or something because I should have completed the drop off.

How do I report this to R*??

After buying an Office, whats next?

Posted: 20 Dec 2017 10:04 PM PST

So i just bought an Office (Maze West) after being told getting one and then a vehicle warehouse for I/E would be the best way to make money.

However, between now (300k) and then (1.5 mil) what should i do?

Should i buy a cargo warehouse and go down that path until i get enough for vehicles?

Should i keep grinding heists and missions?

Vigilante Missions

Posted: 20 Dec 2017 10:49 PM PST

After 4 years i'm considering buying this game, but i heard there are no vigilate missions like in the previous titles, where you could grab a police car (or helicopter) and start chasing the bad guys. Is this true? Is there some update that changes this, or Mod?
