Posted: 30 Dec 2017 02:26 AM PST Just readin' up on lore and came across this tidbit. I don't know if it's common knowledge or not, but the information was new to me, so I thought I'd share! Source:http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Nuka-Cola_Quantum_(Fallout_3) [link] [comments] |
Finishing Far Harbor again helped me understand the BoS's position on the Synth Question. Posted: 30 Dec 2017 08:31 AM PST Im replaying Fallout 4 because I haven't played Nuka World yet. I've just finished Far harbor by building DiMA's false peace. We replaced the high confessor and I told Avery the truth. I promised to keep the secrets and convinced Kasume to go home. The last thing I told DiMA was that he's a monster before leaving. I returned to the commonwealth, dropped Nick off in Diamond City and then collected Danse and informed the brotherhood of Arcadia. I felt that DiMA was a monster and can't be allowed to manipulate the people of the island any longer. Playing Far Harbor again made me realise why the Brotherhood is scared of synths. DiMA made them seem like a genuine threat rather than scared people escaping the institute. [link] [comments] |
DiMA's memories can go fuck themselves. Posted: 30 Dec 2017 08:52 AM PST Just finished the puzzles to get DiMA's memories. Holy fuck am I cross-eyed. If I wanted to play Portal, I'd open fucking Portal, not Fallout 4. Was gonna play longer but I really needed a break after the damn puzzles. [link] [comments] |
[OC] now that Chrismas is over I can share my diy fallout present I made for my brother Posted: 30 Dec 2017 12:27 PM PST We grew up playing fallout 1 and 2. Fallout 3 The Pitt (spoilers) Opinions - Morally Conflicting Posted: 30 Dec 2017 02:12 PM PST Fallout 4 tried to get rid of the Karma system altogether and make every faction morally gray, which in some areas succeeded and in others it failed. I think Fallout 3 DLC The Pitt did the morally gray thing correctly. So you get to The Pitt and Wernher is telling you that the slaves should be liberated and raiders are assholes. Seems fair. Everyone doing a neutral/good play through immediately thought about freeing the slaves and killing the raiders. You go through the DLC, the slaves tell you to kidnap Ashur's daughter, and get to the part where you talk to Ashur. Then you find out that Ashur's daughter is some cure for the everyone in the Pitt, raiders and slaves alike, and he said that once the cure is finished he will free the slaves and make the Pitt how it was before the war. If you choose to side with the Pitt raiders, you go confront Wernher, and he starts acting like a complete dick. He then mentions that the slaves were planning to kill the baby as a form of revenge. If you choose to side with the slaves, you kill the raiders and bring the baby to the slaves in which they say they'll take care of it. However, they never tell you they're going to kill it, so you leave it at that and you go back to Capital Wasteland. This is honestly the most morally conflicting story in a Fallout game (except maybe Far Harbor). It essentially comes down to siding with the raiders that will make the cure and will free the slaves and make the Pitt better for everyone yet getting away with their atrocities. Or it is siding with the slaves to make the raiders pay for what they have down but killing the last hope the Pitt has. [link] [comments] |
Fallout 3 never fails to deliver! Posted: 30 Dec 2017 05:31 AM PST This might be my 6th or 7th walkthrough. So I'm playing Fallout 3 GOTY Edition from GoG and I start my playthrough making sure I'm taking the complete opposite decisions I had done in my past. Things that amazed me: I loaded a save I had played an hour ago, currently I'm on the mission to go and collect food and meds from super duper mart. I let loose the Protectron to kill the 2nd batch of raiders. Well... no raiders in this save yet. I reached the door and was gearing up for the weakened deathclaw right outside (I remember the first time I met a deathclaw right outside) and I'm also overencumbered. Now I'm outside and damn!! no deathclaw hands for me. I know that kid Bryan will pop out any moment and I'm prepared to shove his troubles right onto his face. Well he ain't coming from the right? Weird. So I move ahead spamming VATS in hope to find the brat. NOPE nothing ahead. VATS caught up to 5 raiders approaching towards me. I'm scared shitless and hide behind a car in front of the mart. 4 move ahead except 1, these are the same band of raiders that was suppose to enter the super duper mart. The one walking towards the mart, she sensed me when I was trying to kill her with the silenced 10mm pistol but the VATS screwed me over as the bullet kept on hitting the car border. All 5 are now alert and I just have few moments to decide. It was caution and danger in a sec she caught me and starts spamming the Chinese assault rifle. I know I need to freakin run as far as possible away from the car. Screen turns around automatically and its Bryan fuckin Wilkins!! I don't care where his papa is! I've my own shit to handle. I ask him to piss off and the dialogue screen ends. Volley of bullets both on wilkins and me. I barely got to take 4 steps and BOOM!! Nuclear car explosion. 4 raiders dead except her, the kid and me (almost dead + crippled) Those 4 steps saved me!! I ain't gonna lose my hard scavenged goods for her. Stimpacks + Stimpacks + Junk food + Mirelurk cakes. I've a huge arsenal bitch!! Buwahahahaha :D I killed her and slowly started to walk back to Megaton! Phew.. I'm aware of the missing deathclaw and kept on spamming VATS hoping it might glitch somewhere but nah! I'm uphill and safe but a bloatfly usually roams around here & I'm prepared. On the right a small silo and a remnants of a house can be seen, being a hoarder there ain't nothing to lose as I'm already overencumbered. I scavenge and found some supplies and something starts to shoot me I can't see the bloatfly?? VATS doesn't help either. Down the road VATS picks up a signal and it's a FUCKING ENCLAVE SOLDIER I haven't activated any mission in my new walkthrough and never met any enclave soldier this early or near Megaton. I can barely make a dent with the Chinese assault rifle (The best I've in my inventory) so the game of Cat & Mouse starts. I don't prefer to use VATS other than to identify enemies afar. But now its do or die as I don't want to climb the mountain being over encumbered again or worse load the save again to meet wilkins. I hide behind a broken wall from the house and start spamming bullets in VATS. No Shit!! My peanuts ain't gonna penetrate that armor! I lobbed a grenade and chuckled when he flew sky high! I ain't dumb to run towards the body in-order to scavenge his armour as I know a soldier is never alone! an officer and another soldier always accompany them. The screen shows CAUTION. I can't see shit, still it shows CAUTION. I just crouch behind the broken wall and start watching my left and right in third person view. Still no shit! Protectron Voice and 2 outcast Brotherhood walking down the road pretty far from me but they're green which indicates they're friendly but the screen still has CAUTION in red. Laser and bullets starts flying and now my status is HIDDEN. 4 raiders and the outcast along with the protectron are in a firefight! I just crouch there and wait to see the outcome :D Protectron was the first to go and one of the outcast took a grenade. The odds were not in the lone outcasts favor and me being a dumbass tried to intervene and lobbed a grenade on the person in the middle hoping to kill all in one shot. The nade did its job but partially hit the last outcast. Now I'm being pursued by an outcast and I've already eaten half my food supplies and wasting stimpacks was not an option. Being punished by a volley of bullets I had my last grenade ready but made sure to lob it in an open ground so I don't fkup.. again!! and hit a wall or something else. My lobbed grenade glitched and it went abysmal to eternity. I slowly fall back and walk slowly to Megaton being chased by a frenzied outcast and taking damage eating whatever I could find. I almost emptied my food inventory and managed to reach close to Megafuckinton!! and "Deputy (Angel) Weld" came for my rescue to get killed in 1 shot. Stupid Weld!! Luckily Stockholm took the outcast and I headed back to scavenge everything and now I'm inside Megaton will all my gold to exchange :') Fallout 3 Damn!! Hands down the best ever post apocalyptic experience ever. Any more unique stories from others Please post! [link] [comments] |
Kinggath does not get enough credit for Sim Settlements Posted: 30 Dec 2017 09:03 AM PST https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KiibOrBLsc&t=3s 600 hours of Fallout 4, and I am starting a new playthrough because of Kinggath's mods. The man is a modding wizard. [link] [comments] |
Never had a fight quite like this before Posted: 30 Dec 2017 01:43 PM PST I just had a legendary deathclaw throw 3 cars at me throughout our 15 minute fight. Holy shit never seen that before. Scared the crap out of me when I lost sight of him behind a rock for at least 10 seconds and when i decided to peek my head out over the rock I see a pick up truck flying straight for me lol [link] [comments] |
Has anyone ever made a cinematic of Mr. House saving New Vegas? Posted: 30 Dec 2017 07:55 AM PST Everytime I interacted with Mr. House, I've had this scene in mind, when he started talking how he saved New Vegas and the Strip, the lasers on top of Lucky 38 destroying the nukes before they dropped. Do you guys know if someone has ever done a cinematic of this? [link] [comments] |

"Power of the Atom" is hella broke. Posted: 30 Dec 2017 08:57 AM PST I've been trying to complete the power of the atom quest to get my megaton house, but the whole thing has become massively broken. I spoke to burke, got him to give me the detonater, then took it to Lucas and he goes off to the bar to stop him. Then he gets stuck behind the bar walking against the railings endlessly. Posted: 30 Dec 2017 07:19 AM PST Back when I was in college I wrote up a setting for Fallout in the Buffalo-Niagara region where I live. My friends wanted me to run it as a tabletop game some day so I spent some time working on a system that could run it, but I wanted to include SPECIAL, Perks, and Skills. I essentially wanted all the stuff you'd see in Fallout: New Vegas but as a tabletop game that used d20 for combat. I also wanted to include as much as I could from J.E. Sawyer's never completed Fallout Pen and Paper. I'd say the results are 50% New Vegas, 30% d20, 10% Fallout PnP, and 10% new rules I made. After years of tweaking, I found something I'm comfortable with and one of my good friends spent a lot of time making it into a slick looking PDF you can download here: http://docdro.id/QRuH0wP You can also get the character sheet he made (in desperate need of a spell checking) here: http://docdro.id/vZK8hLp I'd love some critique from the great Fallout community, I've been running this at local conventions since April and with all the feedback I've received I think this is ready to share. Hope you enjoy the system, I promise to have the Buffalo-Niagara setting I made for this released next year. [link] [comments] |
Is Fallout 1 & 2 Hard To Get In To? Posted: 30 Dec 2017 11:36 AM PST I Don't care about old graphics (in fact I love them) and like a good story, but is this game hard to get into, with the controls and gameplay and stuff? [link] [comments] |
Are all humans originating from vaults? Posted: 30 Dec 2017 01:28 PM PST So I know that ghouls are pre-war and that they survived the blast, but did any non mutated humans survive the blast? Like non vault dwellers. Another thing I wanted to know is if anyone knows if any countries are not affected in the Fallout universe, it seems like they haven't talked about if the wasteland is just in the us or if it's global. In fallout 4 the submarine Yangtze, the person who drives it says he's going back to China or something. So does that mean that China is not a wasteland in the fallout universe? Or was less affected by the blast... [link] [comments] |
Porter Gafe stuck saying "Let me get the door" Posted: 30 Dec 2017 08:33 AM PST Gage is stuck on my game, only saying "Just let me get the door for you" I don't have a save from before the cola-cars fight, and the last one would lose me 6 hours of gameplay He even got all the way to the Overboss', and yet he still says this one sentence Is there a way to fix this? Hello Mother Roma, or A Possible Future for Caesar's Legion (Fan Lore) Posted: 30 Dec 2017 03:04 PM PST This is clearly all just fanfiction, but the following will be how I imagine a possible future direction for Caesar's Legion after the Second Battle of Hoover Dam. Please comment below on your thoughts on this, and I will try to add more detail when able (such as in the comments below). The year is 2345. Civilization has continued to reclaim the Wastes, and so the societies of the New World have continued to fall into conflict with one another...and even within themselves. And this can lead to some unforeseen consequences. In the year 2282, things seemed bleak for the Legion after their humiliating defeat at the hands of the Courier in the Second Battle of Hoover Dam. With the deaths of Vulpes Inculta, Aurelius of Phoenix, and Caesar himself, the Legion's command structure was badly fractured, especially as many overly-ambitious Centurions declared themselves the new Caesar and some of the newer tribes assimilated into the Legion split ranks and joined up with the Great Khans in their formation of the Northern Sawtooth Khanate. Thusly, Lanius Caesar Secundus' eighteen-year regime was almost entirely spent brutally silencing revolts and further cementing the Legion's command over the East as part of the Legion's grand plan of invading the West (in order to "finish Caesar's noble work). In a rare stroke of genius, Lanius and Lucius began to further expound upon Caesar's "Cult of Mars," even bringing in the other members of the Roman pantheon and deifying Caesar even more than he was in life, further helping increase religious support and stabilizing the Legion's central authority. 2300 was a tumultuous year - and the year that would ultimately change the Legion along lines no one had expected. The year was the first to have no outright revolts since 2281 - and that was in part because of a concerted effort by the NCR to gain more footholds on the eastern half of the Colorado to ready for a possible invasion of the East, which only succeeded in further banding the Legion together under one flag. In late January of that year, Lanius Caesar Secundus was felled in battle when leading a vicious counter-attack against a failed NCR expedition to take the Legion settlement of Kingman. Lucius Caesar Tertius, who was hastily appointed to replace Lanius, served well for a few months, but advancing age and an outbreak of disease took him in September while supervising the further development of the Legion military base of Willow Beach. In early October of 2300, the new Caesar - Aelius Caesar Quartus - assumed the throne of the Legion, and the organization was forever changed. Aelius (formerly Joseph Calhoun, the son of Bill Calhoun), much like Sallow before him, was a man of the West - a former military historian in the NCR that was sold into slavery and forced to become a Legionnaire after his town was overrun by Legion forces. As he proved to be a source of surprisingly sage advice, Lucius appointed him as one of his personal advisors, inadvertently making him next in the line of succession for Caesar. However, Aelius proved himself to be surprisingly…lenient as the Legion's newest Caesar. Under his regime, the Legion became more lax towards technology, encouraging more technology to be studied and analyzed in order to further the Legion forward. Aelius also adopted the "Lucian Strategy" (according to his compatriots, at least), which had the Legion refocus on expanding east and gathering resources while maintaining a vicious holding pattern in the west, only attacking the NCR in secret and generally never picking a fight when able. Aelius claimed this was to ready enough resources to create a powerful-enough fighting force to crush the west once and for all - in reality, it was because Aelius, who had suffered through the miserable treatments of a slave in the Legion, wanted to reform the organization into something better, and knew the NCR would completely crush the Legion before he could make any progress if they were to continue to directly war with each other. Aelius' greatest achievement as Caesar was in 2317, where Aelius, the Frumentarii, and the highest-ranking Centurions in the Legion all met in Flagstaff, and Caesar's Legion was nevermore. On January 17th, the New Roman Empire took its place. These Centurions instead became known as "the Patricians," serving as hereditary military governors commanding different sections of the empire's territory. Each of these territories were also home to a "Senator," who would serve in the New Roman Senate and would work together with the current Caesar to help create laws and control the empire as a whole. The Senators for each territory would be elected every two years by each territory's "Citizens," or the residents living in Legion-occupied lands that weren't slaves. A slave could now earn Citizenship through acts of courage or heroism, by buying their way out of their position, or by the will of their current owner. The Legion itself was further split up and divided under Aelius' great nation-building. Each cohort of the Legion was assigned to a different province of the empire to serve each Patrician as a regional guard and police force - except for the toughest and strongest soldiers, of which half were immediately sent to form the Conquest Legion (the military forces focused on the empire's expansion and conquest of neighboring societies), and the other half were sent to form the Sons of Mars, as noted below. The entirety of the Legion's forces was still under the control of the current Caesar, but this new territory-based system was created to help ensure flexibility and quick action in case of NCR interference. To help ensure new soldiers and manpower was ensured for further conquest, female Citizens were given essentially "birth quotas," where they would try to have a certain amount of children each year to replace military losses. Female slaves were also forced to help replenish losses and maintain population growth The worship of the Roman gods was further pushed by Aelius' regime, culminating in "the Faith of the Six," where several of the Olympians would be worshipped again under the empire's control - and worship was mandatory, with any outside faith immediately stamped out and crushed. This resurgence of faith resulted in six major organizations being developed within the empire to serve as a rudimentary bureacracy - The Sons of Mars, the Disciples of Apollo, the Daughters of Minerva, the Followers of Ceres, the Children of Diana, and the Knights of Jove. The Sons of Mars serve as the Caesar's personal "problem solvers," coming in to annihilate any signs of revolt or settle any potential disagreements between different Patricians. The Knights of Jove were created to serve as the "protectors of the faith," serving as an ersatz-Inquisition to help spread the belief of the Six in New Roman lands to help have new tribes and societies believe in their ideals. The Daughters of Minerva was an all-female order created to analyze captured enemy tech, trying to learn how to reverse-engineer them in order to progress the empire forward (mostly for military conquest). The Followers of Ceres, who are also all female, are an order tasked with helping cultivate plants and progress agriculture. The Disciples of Apollo, who are one of the few organizations in the empire to be co-ed, are focused on medicine and advancing healthcare to create a healthier military force. Finally, the Children of Diana are the successor group to the Frumentarii, serving as the empire's spy agency and tax collectors. To say all of these reforms took root immediately would be...a gross exaggeration. Aelius would die before all of these reforms would be adopted by the Legion's subjects and members (as would three more Caesars), and it is only by 2335 that the New Roman Empire was formally cemented in Legion lands after 18 years of bloody infighting. The NCR, still on the empire's frontier, watched cautiously from the outside, waiting too long for a moment of weakness to conquer the east for themselves. Now, in 2345, under the control of Cornelius Caesar Septimus, the New Roman Empire has recently completed its conquest of the Texan Panhandle and northern Sonora. The likelihood of a new war with the NCR seems to be on the horizon. Only time will tell if this "New Roman Empire" will prove to be a safe and sane society as history marches on... Is there a sex noise easter egg in F4? Posted: 30 Dec 2017 02:45 PM PST I'd just left Goodneighbour, and as soon as it loaded back into the Commonwealth, I heard simultaneously death sounds of a woman and a man, both the kinds of groans that NPCs make when they die, but then I thought "wait, is that supposed to sound like two people finishing fucking?" Because it seems like the kind of thing that'd be made as an easter egg. Kinda like how in F3 I on a couple of occasions heard what sounded like a woman panting in the Rivet City hotel. I'm pretty sure that was the same thing. [link] [comments] |

Dumb Question: Buying Fallout 3 for XBox One Posted: 30 Dec 2017 08:23 AM PST Hey Fallout, So my wife finally convinced my daughter to give us her XBox One that she never uses so she can play Fallout 3 and NV. We tried to purchase both from the XBox store but it said I couldn't. At first we thought it could have been a credit card thing but we were able to buy PUBG without any issue. Is there some trick to playing/buying FO3/NV on XBox One? Did I need to have purchased it on the 360 first or something? It's just weird that we couldn't but it. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Paladin danse most probably hates me now :( Posted: 30 Dec 2017 03:27 AM PST So basically i love roleplaying in rpg games, making decisions for my characters based off of their past and mind set that i had originally made up for them , so my newest character here is sort of a crisscross combination between bruce wayne and tony stark, and is a good guy who doesn't like wasting his time doing anything unnecessary and taking the most direct method of confrontation over anything else,so faction wise i had originally planned for him to lead the minutemen and destroy the institute and make peace with everyone else, however after a dozen or so youtube videos spoiled to me that SPOILER ALERT paladin danse was actually a synth i thought that was interesting and decided to let him tag alone with me (his sexy voice didn't hurt either) so at this point my character had turned down the railroad thinking that they waste so many human lives to try and rescue some robots (synths) and didn't maximize his affinity with danse so i knew that i have to beat the bos questline, and i did so and maximized the affinity with my bff danse however it came to a point where that lancer kells mofo told me that the brotherhood wanted to take out the railroad for no reason whatsoever and despite of my character's efforts to convince him otherwise he plain refused,so at that point my character (me) decided to betray the bos as they were some ruthless bastards who previously wanted me to kill virgil as well,so my plan was to go join the railroad and destroy the prydwen alass once i entered their hideout they started shooting at me and so i had to wipe them out (in self defense) regrettably, after doing so my character was so mentally banged up mentally that he developed an alcohol addiction (ice cold lager brew preferably) and so decided to help his own son with what he wanted just as a distraction to forget all that racket and destroy the bos too, however down the line after my character saw how the institute enslaved synths he had a change of heart and saw them as something more than just robots (after remembering how nick and danse helped him throughout his journey) he wanted to free the synths after destroying the prydwen leaving only the minutemen as the only faction remaining (sadly that wasn't an option) so now I'm the supposed director of the institute and have wiped out both the railroad and bos and all my companions hate me (except for dogmeat ❤️) and i have danse living with me in abernathy farm and whenever i talk to him i just say "i would like trade some stuff with you" i miss him and he won't talk to me he's my bro, what can i do?
