Theorycraft Thursday - Discuss Builds, Skills, Strategies, and More! Posted: 30 Nov 2017 01:00 AM PST Welcome to Theorycraft Thursday, a community-building, regularly occurring thread in the subreddit! MMO veterans will know that Theorycrafting is the core of many discussions about this genre of games, and ESO is no different. With the high level of variance in builds, skills, and stats, there's plenty of room for Theorycrafting, and we want to see what you have to share with the community on that front. Have a build you've experimented with? A particular skill or set of skills that synergize well? A strategy for PvE or PvP that works to great effect? Share it here! If you're new, you can also use this thread to ask questions about viable builds and skills as well! As always, please keep in mind our rules on the sidebar, especially the one about 'no personal attacks, callouts, rude behavior, or other such disrespectful content'. Disagree respectfully and know that everyone has different ideas and playstyles that suit them. I was programmed to write posts automatically by /u/Woeler. Posted: 29 Nov 2017 08:44 AM PST Hey ESO, I just wanted to give a quick thanks. My first ever video game/MMO (I'm 20 now) was Ultima Online in which I started playing with my father. My father, who started playing it in 97 when it first launched, recruited me at age 5 or 6 to be his mule, guard and backup in PVE in case a PK (player killer) came. I vividly remember running shit scared through Destard (one of the main dungeons) in order to avoid a gank on my Hiding Macer (boy did that hit hard.) I fell in love with this game on the PS4 when it first launched in 2014. It brought me back to the endless world of MMO's and the freedom that comes with it (the best part of UO was easily the sandbox PVP/PVE the game had. You could do ANYTHING.) Over the last 3 years I have invested thousands of hours into this game. And while I'm definitely more of a casual player now I still have worked my way up to CP 550 and PVP as much as I can. The story, community and lore is second to none and I cannot thank you guys enough for being apart of one of my favorite games of all times. You can find me almost always in cyrodil on the PS4 NA My PSN is Winbu and I primarily Main DC but am thinking about making a AD char just to play with guys like Rusty (if he's still around) and smash a few Jerkish blues along the way. Primarily play on my Magblade but I'm slowly transitioning to a Stamplar and possibly a MagDK. Need some cash to finish out the suits :( Thanks guys and "Honor and Steel!" Posted: 30 Nov 2017 12:38 AM PST Breton Hero Armor + Radius Mask makes my magDK look pretty badass imho :) Colors are Coldharbour Ash Black and a red - I can't remember which but I can post it later today. [link] [comments]
Would you like for ESO to have FFXIV's job/class system? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 02:59 PM PST For those who don't know: You can get quests to unlock every class in FF14. You then switch in your character screen, and start from level 1. While in FF there are lack of quests to get them to max level again (since you already did most of them), eso has more than enough to level once again to 50+ Imagine having your Magicka skilled High Elf changing between Sorcerer and Templar. Or the Nightblade can switch to Dragon Knight for a more tanky approach. Do you think it would be awesome, or would you lose your sense of pride and accomplishment for leveling several characters? Edit: I can see most people like the idea! Some prefer to have it like it is though, for role-playing purposes. But keep in mind: You can still create other characters, it's not one OR the other option. [link] [comments]
Recently reached CP 160, what next? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 11:29 PM PST I'm Bosmer StamSorc that just reached the gear cap and I'm at a loss ass to what I should get or where I should go next to get good gear for my build. Was hoping you guys could help. I have ESO Plus as well as Morrowind. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Nov 2017 08:10 PM PST I'm in DC and I have to go all the way deep into AD/EP territory for the saltwater fish. It'll be a pain in the ass trying to get it if I keep getting attacked. [link] [comments]
I think we should start being more open about builds for pve. Posted: 29 Nov 2017 08:07 AM PST I've been seeing a lot of people asking for different build ideas lately and more often or not the responses seem to go along the lines of that 'that won't work' and 'if you want to use that then you have to use this' A lot of the time the players asking are new and I think it's worth mentioning that unless someone is after a pure dps build then almost ANY build and set up within reason will probably be able to complete 90%+ of pve content. And by the time a player has reached vet dungeons and trials then realistically they will have a good idea of how to go for actual dps.
That is all. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Nov 2017 08:52 PM PST Hey guys I just got an inferno maelstrom staff with infused! How should I use this in my setup? I'm a mag sorc running 5/1/1 with 5 piece necro all gold except necklace, 5 piece julianos all gold and gold 1pc domihaus.

[PC] How long will the current sale on the game last, and which edition should I buy? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 03:29 AM PST Title basically. I do not understand the difference between the standard edition and Morrowind, does the Morrowind edition come with the expansion? [link] [comments]
Is the story/lore in ESO canon? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 12:55 PM PST Have a friend who outright refuses to play this because he says the lore isn't accurate at all and i don't have very much knowledge of it but would like to prove him wrong. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Nov 2017 10:07 AM PST Gaming subs lately seem to have high toxicity levels, always complaining or barking at devs. As I browse this sub I see so many supportive comments, people lauding the developers, and most prominently people saying that you shouldn't listen to others when they tell you how to play and enjoy the game. I've lost count how many times I've read play your way responses/posts. Thank you guys for being a positive beacon in an otherwise increasingly hostile gaming board world. Posted: 29 Nov 2017 09:45 PM PST I love the lore of ES and bought a bunch of the lore books when ESO came out (I'd suggest buying them if you like the lore, they are cheap on Amazon). I just recently picked up Infernal City and will be reading it soon. Any other suggestions for good ES books or content? [link] [comments]
I love world of Warcraft should I? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 01:50 AM PST Should I get into this if I've invested so much time in WoW? I would be playing on PC is the community large on PC? [link] [comments]
At what point did ESO click for you? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 12:14 AM PST How far into the game did you hit the moment where you decided you really enjoyed it? I picked up the Gold Edition during a Black Friday sale, and have been playing it since. So far the questing, characters, combat mechanics, etc. have all but completely failed to grab me. Not that anything's bad at all, mind you, it all seems competent, just hasn't sunk its claws in. So, I do want to keep playing, but it would help to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Is there some specific quest line/moment that really stands out, or does the game change dramatically above a certain level, etc. etc.? It's super common for games to have less compelling starts or middles (the "it gets so good ten hours in" syndrome), and I'm totally down to wait 'til we get to the fireworks factory. Unless we're not actually going to the fireworks factory and everything I've seen is representative of the experience all the way through, then I might politely bow out. EDIT: Also open to any suggestions on how to get more out of the game. So far I've been taking my time and branching out. Generally following what I assume you'd call the faction quest line, but taking time in each area to do side quests and explore nooks and crannies (I do dig finding locked chests hidden in weird corners). Have also been gathering whatever I come across and crafting as I go. Haven't really struck out on my own, though, just been following quest lines. Maybe I'd benefit from skipping "ahead" (I know everything's nonlinear now) to something more up my alley like the Thieves or Dark Brotherhood? Are those as fun as they tend to be in mainline ES games? [link] [comments]
Any Ice Staff buffs or changes in the last 3-4 months? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 03:48 AM PST i just updated the game and i am ready for some ice staff tanking. is it worth it? do you guys recommend a class to use with it as well? thanks all! [link] [comments]

About the 17k health - noob question Posted: 30 Nov 2017 03:12 AM PST I'm a StamBlade with 10k health. 63 stam points and 1 health point. People say I need at least 17k health. How on earth am I going to achieve this? 160cp for those wondering [link] [comments]
Best 2 man Builds? [Discussion] Posted: 30 Nov 2017 02:25 AM PST One of my friends recently got the game and we are going to make new Characters together. What would a good 2 man combo be. Mostly for PVE/ and Leveling obviously. He prefers a at least slightly tanky build and i am up for anything excluding stamblade! (Just coming out of that grind!) [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Nov 2017 01:17 AM PST Hey, I just finished leveling my first alt Magblade and want to bring him up to gearwise so I can start doing harder content. I got from most of guides that Julianos + ILM/Moondancer + Monster with off vMA lightning staff are BIS for now, but what do you recomend for fresh char? I found few test videos, where even willpower jewellery is included and numbers are still good, so I am thinking, is Julianos + Monster + Willpower with MH random staff and vMA lightning off good or should I focus to put up together 2 sets with only 1 monster piece (Julianos + Spinners/Mothers Sorrow/Scathing Mage)? Also if I go for 2 full sets is vMA Lightning valable in offhand or should I keep bonuses 100 % of the time with double set staffs? Any input is appreciated, thanks! Posted: 30 Nov 2017 01:08 AM PST I always have a ton of questions about theory craft build ideas and other things I haven't tried that yet, but I'm kinda looking for a smaller community to talk about theorycrafting and what not with. I feel like it'd be more engaging for me. [link] [comments] |
