574 accounts banned

Posted: 13 Dec 2017 04:38 AM PST

https://community.blackdesertonline.com/index.php?threads/use-of-malicious-software.120950/

"Greetings Adventurers,

Back in September, I made a commitment to you that I would pursue users that are using malicious cheat software in Black Desert Online. Since then, I have seen the multiple calls for "Fishbot Bans When?" The answer is "Now".

This process took longer than I anticipated or hoped, as I wanted to be certain that false positives did not occur. I'm now confident that this banwave is accurate and any appeals made will not result in the ban being overturned. So, I'm happy to announce that today, we have banned 574 accounts that were detected using software to automate fishing, amongst other things.

The actions taken on an account are a matter between us and the account holder. This means, as, with previous bans, we won't be naming and shaming. I do hope that your confidence in us to prevent this abuse grows as our detection methods improve and the banwaves become more frequent!

Once again, thank you to everyone who helped make this possible, by making reports to the GM team. It's satisfying to see our mutual efforts come to fruition."

Can we talk about the Mystic's neck problem?

Posted: 12 Dec 2017 10:28 PM PST

I decided to build my custom Mystic today in preparation for the launch.

I always give my characters short hair while I'm working so I can change the face, ears, and neck without the hair obscuring my view.

Bloody hell was I not prepared for the medical problems the Mystic has with her neck.

Problem:

For every inch the head is forward of the spine, the weight of head has another 10 pounds that the neck has to support because of the shift in the center of gravity. So if the Mystic's head is ~11 Lbs (about average weight), the neck has to support ~31 Lbs due to the ~2 inches that the head is forward of the spine.

If this character model were to be accurate, the added weight that the spine has to deal with causes the upper back to arch backward and the hips to curve forward. As you can guess, this is a medical problem: It's known as Forward Head Posture and it can lead to several problems if left untreated, including chronic neck pain and even herniated discs due to the head-spine misalignment shifting the center of gravity on the spine.

That said, not only does this start to enter the creepy end of the Uncanny Valley (partially because the back and hips should be arched as well), but I find it hard to believe that a practitioner of martial arts would be allowed to have such a bad posture as all of my sifu's throughout the years have harped on proper posture since it not only leads to better health (or at least doesn't help to decline one's health), but it also helps the martial artist to be more efficient.

Suggestion:

Please correct the neck posture of the Mystic (and any other class that has this issue), so that the head is correctly aligned with the spine. You wouldn't even need to hire a medical expert; a quick Google image search for "Forward Head Posture" would show correct and incorrect postures.

(FYI, this is a copy of my post on the official forums as it seems some people read reddit or the forums but not the other.)

PA's response to the protests against the P2W

Posted: 13 Dec 2017 08:32 AM PST

Hello, adventurers!

This is The MMORPG, Black Desert.

We would like to start off by expressing our thanks to all of our adventurers for the continuous support and interest since the official launch.

The Black Desert team strives to maintain the fairness and transparency that we promised at the start of our service and listen to the voice of all of our adventurers. We are always doing our best to provide our ever-supportive players with the best possible service.

We are always keeping ourselves open to user feedback and are constantly keeping in mind of what the users are concerned about. We would like to give you a general explanation regarding the current Pearl Item registration system of the Marketplace feature and the measures we plan to take.

First off, as we have stated via multiple channels, the reason why there wasn't any restrictions on the number of Pearl Items that could be sold in the Marketplace was to offer more opportunities for adventurers to obtain Pearl Items without having to purchase Acoins and thereby granting fairer and more diverse chances for all our adventurers to get their desired items.

However, we've discovered that a specific Pearl item was being registered at an abnormal amount in the Marketplace. We believe that this could affect the fairness of the game and create an imbalance in the game economy.

With that in mind, we plan to limit the number of times you can register Pearl Items in the Marketplace in order to provide a better service.

Limitations on the number of Pearl Items that can be sold in the Marketplace will be applied with next week's regular maintenance on December 21 (Thu). Further details will be provided in a future announcement.

We, the Black Desert Operation Team will do our best to listen to your feedback and provide a better gaming service.

Thank you for all our adventurers of Turkey and the MENA region for your continuous feedback and positive support.

Thank you. https://www.tr.playblackdesert.com/News/Notice/Detail?boardNo=458&boardType=2

I would like to thank everyone protested again this in-game or Reddit. I guess PA deserves a +1 for their "kinda" fast response to the community.

Created an efficient guide for the Guild Boat

Posted: 13 Dec 2017 01:09 AM PST

To start, here is the link.

Guild Boat Guide

This guide does a few things. First off, it breaks down the exact materials needed and provides the maximum number of resources needed.

  • Note that this does not take into account multipliers gained from processing levels.

Second, it shows what nodes have the available resources and provides the most efficient connection to said nodes.

  • It takes 145 CP to invest into every node and provide minimum lodging.

Lastly, it gives a breakdown for which lodging to get at minimum CP usage as well.

This guide was created at 3am with very little sleep so there may be a few mistakes, if you notice one please point it out and I'll correct the original document!

I made this "guide" to show that everything almost everythingexcept for cowhide and blackstone powder can be mined with workers.

Of course you can harvest every single thing by hand to help out, and of course you can purchase.

On the NA servers I've done the math with the current Market prices. (IF MATERIALS ARE AVAILABLE) This would be minimum price to buy everything for the [Guild] Clearance Permit.

  • Coal = 8 mil
  • Black Stone Powder = 33 mil
  • Ruby = 23 mil
  • Cowhide = (Sadly, there is a small amount of these put on the market, and what is has been highly contested. Enjoy the grind)
  • Pine Sap = 13 mil
  • Rough Translucent Crystal = 9 mil
  • White Cedar Timber = 6 mil

Minimum total for all 3,360 permits comes out to about 92 mil. Though spreading it across X number of guildmates it becomes more realistic, unless you only have 1 person craftingpleasedont .

  • If you have any suggestions to help out whether it be format, information, etc. please let me know! Enjoy
