[In 4 Hours] [NA] Community Night 10-mans

Posted: 19 Dec 2017 02:30 PM PST

Note to non NA players: We have a separate weekly EU event that occurred earlier this evening. You may participate in this event if you wish, but for the sake of fairness, NA players will have priority in joining games during this event.

Community Night

It's time for the official CS:GO Reddit Community Night!! Community Night is a weekly Tuesday evening event in which we play 5v5 games(10mans not scrims) with other redditors on our own 128-tick servers with competitive settings on classic maps (i.e. Active Group and older competitive maps). The night will last for a few hours, so feel free to drop in whenever you're free!

When Is It?

The NA event begins four hours from this thread being posted. Community Night begins at the time specified below, converted to the major NA timezones for your convenience:

Pacific Mountain Central Eastern
6:30 PM 7:30 PM 8:30 PM 9:30 PM

If you would like weekly alerts for the start of our events, feel free to join the Community Night Steam Group! Announcements are made at the minute the event starts, so you won't miss a thing.

How do I join?

To join, simply connect to our TeamSpeak3 server and hop in the Community Night lobby to get put into a game by an admin. Here are the server details:

Server Address: ts.redditcsgo.com

Note: When connecting, please include your rank at the beginning of your name like so: "MGE-Jpon9".

Normally we playtest a map every Community Night, but tonight we're not. We will resume our playtests very soon. We will be playing current operation and active duty maps.

Information about playtesting

If you would like to be notified when the playtest starts you can join our Playtesting Steam Group.

ELEAGUE just did us real dirty.

Posted: 19 Dec 2017 09:35 AM PST

The details:

We still said whatever, hoped they would put on a dope show where everyone gets everything as stated, and bought 5 event tickets, 5 plane tickets, and 2 hotel rooms.

And only after all is set, does this show up in my email today:

https://eleaguepremium.com/

What is this all about /u/ElectricLeo ? You're the marketing manager and you blatantly lied to us after charging us triple.

Edit: Grammar

Edit2: I'll just leave this here... Thanks /u/buc28

Edit3: ELEAGUE reply from /u/ElectricLeo

The amount of times I've watched pros awkwardly and unreliably trying to molly new box as they enter site has finally become too many. Here is an actually reliable, proper way to molly new box as you enter site.

This script will let you easily switch between 2 accounts without entering Steam Guard codes or passwords

Posted: 19 Dec 2017 12:07 PM PST

Hello, I made a similiar post on /r/Steam yesterday, but perhaps this subreddit is better suited for this, since mostly CS:GO players need to switch between accounts.

This will work for multiple accounts, but let's assume we use 2 accounts for this example.
First off, close Steam. Open notepad and paste this in. Replace Killstealer666 with the username of your first account. Save it as somename.bat

set username=Killstealer666 reg add "HKCU\Software\Valve\Steam" /v AutoLoginUser /t REG_SZ /d %username% /f reg add "HKCU\Software\Valve\Steam" /v RememberPassword /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f start steam://open/main

Launch the script and login, make sure to check Remeber password. Exit Steam.

Create second script for your second account. Launch the second script and login again, make sure to check Remeber password.

Now everytime you want to switch accounts, just exit Steam and launch the according script. You won't have to enter your password or Steam Guard code.

Edit: Holy shit a gold! Thank you so much kind stranger!

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive update for late 12/19/17 (12/20/17 UTC, 1.36.1.8)

Posted: 19 Dec 2017 07:26 PM PST

Via the CS:GO blog:

THE ELEAGUE BOSTON 2018 CS:GO MAJOR CHAMPIONSHIP

  • Team stickers, team graffiti, and stickers autographed by CS:GO pro players are now available for purchase in-game, from the Steam Community Market, or from the 50 piece Mega Bundle on Steam. 50% of the proceeds go to the players and organizations at Boston 2018. For more details, visit http://www.counter-strike.net/pickem/boston2018
  • Team stickers can be used as game pieces for the Boston 2018 Team Pick'Em Challenge.
    • Preliminary stage picks can be made immediately, preliminary stage picks lock at the start of the preliminary stage matches.
    • Group stage picks can be made when the preliminary stage has completed, group stage picks lock at the start of the group stage matches.
    • Playoff picks can be made when the group stage has completed, playoff picks lock at the start of the first quarterfinal match.

HOLIDAYS

  • Deployed Holiday Cheer for your festive fragging season.
  • You can spread the Holiday Cheer! Gifts are now available for a limited time.

MISC

  • Fixed ability to host offline server with friends for War Games when setting party lobby privacy to "Friends Need Invites".
  • Tournament server logs can now have item pickup/drop events enabled using mp_logdetail_items setting.
  • Game servers will now sanitize player name string to not contain non-ascii control characters.
  • Fixed unlocalized string in disconnect errors for other players.
  • Fixed several client-side crashes.
  • Added support to demoinfogo parser for decoding fixed user data size string tables which previously caused invalid substring calculation code path to run.

GAMEPLAY

Rumor has it:

  • Strings: https://github.com/SteamDatabase/GameTracking-CSGO/commit/79389e1c13c0a81ee1d1820be5b113cf9e246dae

  • Series 3 pins now have images: https://github.com/SteamDatabase/SteamTracking/commit/72c3643e6d6c4d81bac3e9d3d9414f7f749f9c9f

  • Size is ~125 MB

    • Note: if you want to get started on buying stickers right away, you will likely want to grab this update as soon as you can. With PUBG's imminent launch at some point overnight tonight, Steam content servers will experience extreme, record load...potentially near 15 to 20 Tbps at onset...with substantial load likely continuing through to the start of the Steam Christmas sale. For most, you may not notice much. While Steam server infrastructure has significantly improved over the past few years to handle multi-terabit loads well, in some regions, and for some users, there could be isolated problems and nuisances as a result. Due to its demographics, switching to an Asian or Australian server will likely be the last thing you'll want to do if you encounter serious problems later tonight or early tomorrow

CS:GO 2018 Wishlist Thread - what do we want to see from Valve in 2018?

Posted: 19 Dec 2017 03:17 PM PST

It feels like every patch notes comment thread has a bunch of comments about what isn't included in the patch, so there are obviously still plenty of features people are waiting to see implemented.

What do you want Valve to do with CS:GO in the new year, as far as game updates, new content, balance changes, and/or supporting the continued growth of CS:GO as an esport?

Resume of SK.Dead's interview with Gaules

Posted: 19 Dec 2017 10:11 AM PST

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkyjdT8gMjc

Note: I made a resume of fer's interview before this, and i'll try to keep posting the other interviews like cogu's. I only translated what Dead says with some exceptions, but it's important to note that Gaules says a lot of important messages and lessons throughout the video.

Note 2: This interview took place on the end of 2016. This is very important. But the video was uploaded at Dec 15, 2017. Also, sorry for spelling errors.

  • Dead is the manager and coach for SK. Gaules and Dead know each other since Dead's first CPL.

  • Dead plays since 2001/2002, his first team was MEW, but his first contact with CS was in Acesso Fácil in São Paulo. Gaules says his first team was SCOE (Segundo Comando Operações Especiais).

  • He created a team with his friend Teta, named CnB (Canibais) - Cannibals and lasted 4 months with him.

  • He went to a tournament in the Tocaia Lanhouse to play against their rivals NC, and they were on the other side of the table, so along the way they had to play rK, bit was 12 at the time and was very little (Lineup: bit, retz, mafioso, cogu, n/a) and they were demolished by rK.

  • Dead played on Yeah until 2006. They played only on lanhouses, no one played online at their home.

  • Yeah, was invited to CPL which had 32 teams from all over Brazil and all of them were good. And they wanted to finish in the top 8. They played against G3X, and lost.

  • At the time a guy named China announced a night in the Lanhouse with Striptease, so he called a hooker to make strip on the lanhouse, Gaules, Dead, bit were there.

  • Gaules talk about persistence to go to a good team on Brazil (mkt) and Dead says the majority of players on CS:GO fought like hell to be were they are today, the only player that he thinks is newer than the game itself is SicK from TSM (Misfits now).

  • He thinks that there are players with potential and good players without potential. Players with potential: Destiny, felps (lacked the mental aspect and T1 experience, but learned in SK)

  • Brazil has a lot of problems with visa, and sometimes they make a mix of teams because not everyone had an visa. (WinOut, LG now [yel, bit, PKL, destinyy, nak], was a case like this).

  • Gaules thinks the best Brazilian awper was ton, but never had a chance to show it internationally.

  • Cold was an unknown to everyone, he thinks that cold's secret is the love for CS. Zqk got kicked because he lost focus, when Dead asked who was Cold (zqk's replacement), FalleN said that fer picked him, FalleN didn't even know who cold was.

  • Dead knows zews for about 20 years. When they thought about going to US, FalleN contacted Dead, and he had one condition to allow them to go live in his house, zews had to go along, being a player or a coach, doesnt't matter, zews needed to be a part of the team. Dead believes zews is the best coach in the world.

  • Dead loved the Games Academy team and he cried when they left his house.

  • Dead thinks that peacemaker is a very good coach, but he thinks that his personal problems are a huge issue, he becomes psychotic from time to time, he praises peacemaker after because he was a runner up at the major with Liquid.

  • Dead says he doesn't like to play CS, but loves to watch.

  • Thinks that the zews move to Immortals to be a player, it's a dumb move. He respects his move, because he thinks that a Coach that has the mentality to be a player will affect the team in a negative way, the same thing applies to nak when he was the coach for Luminosity he wanted to steal a place and be a player when Dead knew about that, he started to laugh, because nak wasn't good enough.

  • Dead helps the players, but not like zews or peacemaker, he helps wherever needed. Helps with the schedule, problems with prizes, some demos and etc.

  • They talk about the opportunities that current CS GO has, before, you had one opportunity in an entire year, if you failed, you needed to wait one year to try again.

  • Dead thinks that TACO was the player who had the biggest evolution in SK and Lucas for Immortals. He mentions SHOOWTIME too.

  • A team full of players who played in Brazil (at the time end of 2016): steel, kNg, KHTEX, Horvy, caique. (Subs: guerri, spacca)

  • When the Team Keyd came to the US, they had nothing, no money at all. Dead and his wife, worked at a normal job before that. But he never left anything for them, he just adjusted his life.

  • Dead was a coach for the Immortals guys for a qualifier and he saw that Lucas was tilted, the map was Dust 2, Lucas bought a pistol rushed middle and died immediately, so Dead kicked his chair and screamed "Are you tilted, are you tilted? So ask a pause". In another story at the minor (they think), was Immortals against Optic at Train, every play that they tried failed, then Dead asked a pause at the score 13-7, so he said "Guys, this map is done, just go to the next", everyone looked at him and started to laugh, they won the next map.

  • They talk about fnx, saying that every world title won by a Brazilian team, fnx is present since 2006. Dead talking to FalleN, they said that fnx has an amazing movement, he's everywhere in the map.

  • They don't believe that Brazil is living a generation of exceptional players, but teams with potential. Before, when mibr won in 2006, a lot of teams had the potential to beat the best brazilian team, and they did from time to time, today that's not the case.

  • Dead says that winning 2 majors, made them believe and build a structure to keep winning, it wasn't for the money.

  • Most of the times, they receive the prize money, from 45 to 90 days after the end.

  • Gaules asked about mibr comeback, he only laughed, thinks it's a big joke. Thinks that cogu is very rough, he needs to work hard again.

  • They put the SK organization in a high regard because of the 1.6 times, they toyed with the fact, from SK.SpawN to SK. TACO.

  • When some fan asked Dead for his autograph, he wrote Dead on the paper, then the guy got mad and asked him "Why don't you write your real nickname, TaZ?"

  • When SK went to Germany, cold made a mistake, because he instead of asking for the flavor, he said sabor (which is flavor in portuguese), they started to make fun of him, and cold gets angry for nothing, he got angry for days after that.

  • They praised SpawN and HeatoN for the SK era on 1.6, because they were very good and humble.
