Played as Americas using default city names as the cities are built and this kept happening for most of the game.

Which natural wonders would you most like to see eventually included in Civ VI?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 04:43 PM PST

So, we know that we will be getting a few more natural wonders in Rise and Fall with Mount Roraima, the Delicate Arch, and a couple others. Made me think of which ones I'm still really hoping for them to include. First and foremost, I've been wanting to see the Grand Canyon included for quite a while. I'm afraid that we might not ever get it in Civ VI, since the Delicate Arch is fairly close to it geographically. Next would be the Great Blue Hole, off the coast of Belize. I've always thought it would be cool to have it in the series. And the third I'm really hoping to see is Lake Baikal in Siberia, the deepest lake in the world.

So I'm curious, what natural wonders are everybody else really hoping to see eventually included?

What absolute 'out-of-left field' wonder would you like to see added to the game?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 06:02 PM PST

Basically for the sheer wtf factor I would love the Iraqi victory arch added to the game - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victory_Arch

Could easily see it tying in with the new loyalty mechanics. I also think there's a real dearth of interesting late-game wonders, most of which I believe are carry-overs from previous games.

A peculiar request filled with love and hope for the Civ6 Devs.

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 03:30 AM PST

Howdy fellow Civheads.

I've been playing Civilization since the release of the 4th installment. Fell in love with game concept instantly and have been playing ever since. I really enjoy Civ 6, and am looking forward towards the new features, which the Rise & Fall expansion promises.

To that extent, I will move towards my request. I come from a little country called Georgia, which is technically between Europe and Asia. It has a very unique history and culture, and I think it could potentially tie in beautifully with the new Civ 6 game. All the ingredients are there, a decent pool of leaders to choose from male or female, unique history and culture, with a standalone language. I will be forever grateful if the Devs would even consider adding Georgia as a Civ in the future.

Thank you :)

[Civ 6] What are the best modded civs?

I'm starting to get sick of the current crop of leaders and would love to throw in some new faces. Any suggestions?

How come the Pantheon never been featured as a Wonder in the civ franchise?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 04:21 AM PST

For those that know the building, this is the Pantheon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantheon,_Rome

It is one of the most influential, perhaps the most influential, building in the Western archtectural tradition that solidified the dome as a fundamental form. It's a masterpiece both from an engineering point of view and an architectural, one evidence of this is that its dome's spam remained the largest in the world for some 18 centuries.

Yet, for all its importance and sophistication, it was never featured in a civ game. When it comes to Ancient Wonders, there seems to be a lot of "canon" ones in the games. Like the Pyramids, the Colossus of Rhodes, the Lighthouse of Alexandria and others. My feeling is that the developers give a lot of credit to the 7 Wonders of the Ancient world, which makes sense as they were, in many ways, the original wonders. However, it should be taken into consideration that that list was compiled quite early in the classical world and ignores all later buildings. In special the Romans one, which were technologically superior to all previous ones.

The Pantheon is the one that I miss the most, but a case can be made that Romans buildings as a whole get the short end of the stick when it comes to wonders. In Civ 5 we had how many? One with the Hagia Sophia and I believe that's it. In 6 we have the Colosseum, but still there is a huge list of other buildings that could easily be added.

Of course we have to take into consideration the criteria used to pick wonders in not technology or importance alone, they have to consider popular knowledge, where it was built, who built it and so on. Therefore I don't mean this as a rant, not even as a request. I only want to share some thoughts and see if there is other like minded people here.

Edit: I could have added from the start but I forgot. This is a very cool video about the Pantheon: https://youtu.be/7qT3RpaBlJo

Was the Civ 6 version of tech tree a mistake?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 04:11 PM PST

Somehow, it seems weird that I can spec into building airplanes and sending people into space without having to figure out how to sail. Or build pikemen. Or a water mill.

Or that I can build units with rocket launchers before I figure out gunpowder.

My standard mode of operating on immortal is rush to universities after campus.

Then rush to research facilities, then start the space race. The at crew help tremendously by the time I get swarmed with a million AI knights.

However, the whole thing feels dumb. I shouldn't be able to do any of that. I don't remember Civ 5 having that issue. Anybody else feel this way?

Clue for tomorrow's reveal

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 07:02 AM PST

So which are the other five new civs?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 06:03 PM PST

So we already have Korea, Netherlands and Mongolia in, which means 5 are still missing. One or two of those will probably be an ancient/classical civ. I have no idea who that'll be, but we'll also probably get Portugal and the Ottomans. Which other ones might be in the mix?

Has anyone seen Ha Long Bay?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 03:35 PM PST

I've played a load of Civilization 6 since the Khmer/Indonesia DLC and have never encountered Ha Long Bay. Same issue with Galapagos. Anyone here who have experienced the same thing?

Discussion: Who are the greatest female civilization leaders in World History?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 03:29 PM PST

There's a few obvious ones we can knock off right away:

  • England: Elizabeth I, Victoria, Elizabeth II
  • Russia: Catherine the Great
  • Egypt: Cleopatra

But who else is there? Throw a few in the comment section.

How strong of a bonus would it be to build cities one tile closer together?

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 05:34 PM PST

Would there be too few tiles for higher pop cities? Or it might not be that strong overall, seeing as you could normally find a way to get more land and AoE bonuses aren't that hard to build in multiple places.

Hey all, was just wondering who you all thought would be on the new DLC coming out in February or if you have heard any leaks/news about potential or confirmed civs.
