How Invoker Changed In 7.07 - Analysis & Replay Commentary from 6000 MMR player

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 01:37 PM PST

Video Link is here guys!

Hey guys I made a new, pretty long video about Invoker's changes in the patch 7.07-7.07C

In this video I go over:

  • Meta changes (How the heroes & enemies changed)

  • Hero changes (spells and talents)

  • Gameplay changes (PMS, Bounty runes, denies in lane)

and then I also do a full replay commentary in a ~6k average (probably more like 5.8 average) Invoker game I played where I had a decent albeit rusty performance and I explain how I practice(d) the hero, my decisions, what I'm doing, and my matchup in mid and more.

If you just want to watch a certain part I have the timeline below & in the video description:

1:05 - New Formula For Mana Regen

1:55 - Laning & Denies

3:20 - Poor Mans Shield Heroes In Mid

4:00 - Refresher Shard & Cataclysm

4:50 - Thoughts on Talents

9:05 - Status Resistance & Invoker Combos

10:55 - Invoker's Basic Dispell in a Purgeless World

12:28 - 6000 MMR Replay Commentary

You guys have been really supportive of my stuff in this subreddit and I enjoy making videos, so I just want to say thanks and please give me feedback!

Offlane Battle Omni is super fun.

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 01:32 PM PST

I have always wanted to play Omni semi carry every game and I think its now slightly legit (in a pub sense ofc)

You go omni offlane with tangos shield 2x strength gloves for Soul Ring.

Do general omni stuff in until lane maxing Q and E with the goal of building cheap strength items after phase boots. Drums S&Y Armlet. Omni should get these items np but with the 90G per min talent its very ez to snowball. With all this you can charge at people with repel. Once you hit 15 the fun starts with 90 free bonus damage.

A fun alt to the standard midas greaves offlane omni. and I think better in some games. Enjoy the Retribution Paladin.

Mid lane block over rune?

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 05:22 AM PST

Am I wrong in thinking that now you can't tp until 10 secs after creeps spawn, its better just to block creeps? Unless a support does it obviously?

Another stupid thing, sometimes my opponent fails to block entirely and I end up last hitting under tower at lvl 1. Anything I can do about this?

Looking for advice regarding entering an online qualifiers for a tournament

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 07:55 AM PST

Basically my 4k stack team is looking to play in an open qualifiers for a lan tournament next week. We've only been playing together for a few months, and have never had previous experience of playing in any sort of competitive setting.

Would like to know is there any general advice for us to look out for such as differences between playstyles in pugs compared to tournaments, etc. We know its extremely unlikely that we'll be able to succeed as its our first time, but we'll want to improve and basically know whether theres anything we'll have to look out for.

Thank you in advance for any advice that you may give :)

New Naga build this patch?

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 04:22 AM PST

With the addition of the +10% illusion damage talent on Naga I've noticed that her illusions now do almost as much damage as Terrorblade's illusions.
They also increased her agility gain to the level of Terrorblade's.
This made me think that wasting this damage potential on building items that don't benefit her illusion damage (Radiance, Octarine, Heart) is pretty sad.
The "old" Naga build got nerfed a lot too after OG abused it so much, Radiance deals only a little damage on illusions these days and her illusions take more damage than they used to.
Having said that, I've tried to think of a build that takes advantage of her high illusion damage instead of making her illusions very tanky and burning.
The build would go something like this: Wand, Aquila, Treads > Manta, Diffusal > Skadi, Butterfly and maybe an Abyssal could be good too. BKB or Blink could also be needed.
This build also let's you benefit from the minus armor that riptide gives you.
You can still split push pretty good, basically like TB but with 3 illusions + Riptide, but the difference is that you're now stronger in team fights and actually deal a ton of right click damage.
For talents you also take the +15 agility talent instead of the strength one because you want your illusions to deal damage not be tanky.
But because Naga has a way higher strength gain than TB, she will have almost 3k hp in the late game with the items I listed, so she won't be squishy.
The only negative I see with this build is that you won't farm that quickly than with Radiance. That being said you still farm very fast when you have manta + diffusal because your illusions can kill a camp/wave pretty fast then (like TB).
I think this build gives her more flexibility and doesn't make her so one dimensional. You can still play the splitpush game with this build, but you can also be very relevant in fights and actually end the game before 50min.
Let me know your opinions on this build.

Offlaners that you think can fit in an aggressive playstyle and can transition well into late game.

And also, whats do you think is the best pos 5 for an aggressive line up?

I was thinking Venge, Shadow Shaman, Ogre.

Also, how shouls you play undying? I know he is OP right now, but still pretty unsure when it comes to laning phase.

I'd like a deep explanation about the hero right now and the spot he's in

Mobas too serious?

Posted: 17 Nov 2017 06:16 PM PST

Does anyone else think the MOBA scene is far too serious and people play these games like they are in the pro scene a little too much? I personally gave up on playing this game with the intent to be so amazing and fantastic and pull off good plays and instead rather... played how I wanted to play and do what I wanted (too an extent, im not going to fuck over my entire team by going IO jungle or some stupid shit like that) Crystal maiden is one of my faves and I think the new Talent tree really helps to build her in more fun and Unique ways. I usually go mid with her (mostly because I don't trust randomers) and the other players get really annoyed and pissy and even when I am doing well and pulling off decent ganks, it's still somehow my fault if we suddenly start losing as if my sole pick contributed to fucking over the entire team. I dunno, guess it's just a mini rant on some of the playerbase and being forced to play one way only when nobodies lives are affected if I build a deso on CM :/
