| Few weeks gone now, what do you think is the most optimal way to play Dark Willow? Posted: 16 Nov 2017 09:52 AM PST I've really enjoyed playing willow this patch despite my limited game time of late (about 2-3 games a week). Just wondering how most people seem to play the hero now. Personally, I like to play her as a 5, lane supporting, getting a value point in all skills (w,e then q) and max Bramble Maze followed by Shadow Realm. I get items according to what my team needs in the game, so normally force or glimmer. [link] [comments] |
| Why don't people break Dream Coil more often (especially before 7.07)? Posted: 16 Nov 2017 11:04 AM PST Dream coil lasts for six seconds, and at level 1 the stun and damage is 1.5s with 300 damage. Surely if the fight is lost then it'd be best to just risk it and break the coil rather than staying at the spot for 6 seconds? Even before 7.07 I rarely see players breaking the coil and staying there for the entire duration instead (break damage was only 100 back then or something). I'm not sure how that's better then just running. If the fight's still going on and the outcome is undecided then sure, stay and continue to contribute. But I'm not sure how it's more beneficial to stay when it's obvious you've lost the fight. The decision is a lot less straightforward now that break damage is 300, but surely before 7.07 you'd want to just break it most of the time unless your team is committing or something. | Position 3 Dark Willow Guide (feedback please) Posted: 16 Nov 2017 10:50 AM PST I posted this as a comment in a different Dark Willow thread, but I'd like to get your opinions on how I wrote this. I haven't really written a hero guide since Sylvanas came out back in my HotS days, so any feedback on the general format is also much appreciated. Thanks in advance for reading my guide to Position 3 Dark Willow!
I like to play her as a pos3, going Arcane's into Kaya, then building a maelstrom, blink, morbid mask (I'll explain below), then the 6th item is almost always situational to match the game. I start with a point in Shadow Realm, then level between that and Bramble Maze through 5. If the game calls for it (ex. aggro tri-lane) then I'll grab a point in Cursed Crown at 4 instead of Bramble (3-2-0-1 / 3-1-1-1). As for talents, the level 10 and level 15 talents are fairly situational, although I tend to value the gpm over movement speed. At level 20 you should almost always take the +300 Shadow Realm damage, as Shadow Realm is your main spell damage. Without this talent, the +10% spell lifesteal isn't too helpful, and you obviously can't have both. The level 25 talent should always be +200 attack speed in this position. Although last hitting isn't the easiest for Dark Willow during levels 1-3, the earliest laning phase can go one of two ways:
In the overall early game, Dark Willow relies heavily on her spells to take lead against her enemies. Many people don't know how to avoid the brambles, and the new UI change helps you entrap enemy heroes in the brambles before they see them coming. Keep in mind that you have increased range when using Shadow Realm, I tend to use it (at levels 3-4) as both an initiation and a chase/finisher. As the game evolves into mid-game, use your Bedlam ult to clear creep waves / jungle camps. I try to hold Bedlam/Terrorize for emergency situations until around levels 10-11, then at 12 I will rely on it more for farming. It has a fairly low cooldown (+Kaya) and you're able to deal a large amount of damage with it. This will help you get the farm to get your blink and Maelstrom quickly.
But why Maelstrom? In the mid-late game, you'll be able to hit 25 fairly quickly, since you have the option of solo pushing lanes or farming enemy heroes. Once you hit 25, your maelstrom procs will allow you to stay in the backline as your team pushes high ground, since you're too squishy at this point to lead the charge. Once a couple of enemy heroes die or your team executes some decent stuns, you should be blinking in with Bedlam, then Bramble Maze as you get out. Any feedback is much appritiated. | So who are you buying the new items with? Posted: 16 Nov 2017 01:25 AM PST Really simple, which heroes have you been playing with which of the new items? Support naga is great with 3 of the five new items.... I always build my naga support as a healer/team items so urn, greaves, aghs, pipe, vlads, crimson etc. Spirit vessel is just a nice upgrade and i generally go urn first anyways. Once i have aghs, Aeon Disk is a great addition to guarantee you get your heal/song off. Meteor hammer, the item is pretty meh unless u have alot of longterm lockdown, i've built it when snowballing and it was fun. Last night a friend of mine was playing lina mid and went orchid into (uh lol forgot name, the one that silences items) and she just took over the game, she had a bloodstone before 30 min despite the other 2x expensive items. So yeah, please share your insights [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 16 Nov 2017 01:51 PM PST When I play Brood on radiant I have easy access to the radiant jungle because its only about 1 web away and all the camps are close together but on dire the jungle camps seem farther way and more spread out. What should I do as brood on Dire, I've seen people go into the radiant jungle and people use the offlane camps but both of those options seem worse than radiants. [link] [comments] |
| Anyone else thinks Tiny lvl18 80+% status resistance is really stupid? Posted: 16 Nov 2017 07:48 AM PST The hero is just broken later game. He gets 60% guaranteed status resist from Grow, and the only thing that kills carries later on in the game are disables, which last 0.1-1 sec on the hero. [link] [comments] |
| How to destroy Windranger in the midlane? Posted: 16 Nov 2017 02:52 AM PST I would like some hero suggestions and a laning strategy to make sure you "win" the lane against Windranger I mainly play Invoker, but I could play anything else tbh [link] [comments] |
| Is viper still top tier mid dominator? Posted: 15 Nov 2017 07:34 PM PST His old passive made last hitting a breeze. i used to pick viper anytime we needed to smash the enemy invoker/storm/ember etc. now that the passive is gone and Q has a longer cooldown, should i still be betting on him to win most mid matchups? has his role changed? Does the break on new nethertoxin make him more situational or is that just an afterthought on his aoe farming ability? pls help me understand this hero [link] [comments] |
| How to sustain and organise a siege uphill/t3? Posted: 15 Nov 2017 07:51 PM PST I've played for a long time, over 3,000 and I mostly play hard/safe carry. One issue I have noticed is that I have a tough time organising and sustaining a siege uphill. I mostly play party with a few friends and in general we like to try hard and get better at playing together. I don't mean to be "that guy" but I usually end the game with over 15 kills whenever I play, but I never feel like this "translates" to much of a push. I've recognized that in retrospect this is an issue I have a lot, that I can't really force a push properly. I feel like as a hard carry I should be responsible for dealing damage to their uphill, but a lot of the time it feels like I only ever do this when most of them are dead. Is this a confidence issue? What are your techniques to lead a successful siege uphill? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 15 Nov 2017 09:56 PM PST Moon shard is classically known as the item you get to be seven slotted but I would be interested in seeing what heroes people think this item is near core on. A lot of heroes would prefer AS within a natural MJ, AC or early game MoM. The only hero I pick this up on regularly is enchantress, who else is this a core pick up. Tiny? [link] [comments] |
