No top level presence, but still pretty stacked with lots of good players that can potentially win the event. If you enjoyed Eden last year, this looks very similar too that. | What's some tech you think is harder (or easier) than it's given credit for? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 10:21 AM PST I think that a lot of stuff where you have to change your timing is hard, especially to first learn. Like shine-waveland onto a platform, or shine turnaround aerial when you hit someone with the shine, to give a couple examples. It obviously gets easier to learn more techniques like this the more you already have under your belt, of course. Just like with tech in general. Another thing that I think is hard is Falco double laser from ledge. I can do most relevant Falco tech pretty consistently in games, but even in practice this is still one of those ones I just can't seem to get a hang of. [link] [comments]  | ||

| My brother thinks ness is broken Posted: 29 Nov 2017 08:49 PM PST I main ness and he mains Link, everytime we play its awkward and silent unless he's winning. He is a John, making excuses whenever he dies. So since I win most of the time he claims that Ness is cheap and overpowered. He says that it's unfair whenever I chase him off stage with PK thunder 1 and that it's stupid that Ness has no landing lag. Which he does, but always I autocancel arials with dair. He claims Ness is the only character who has such great tools and no one else can brake out of combos so easily and is so fast in the air(yoshi) Oddly enough he doesn't complain about bThrow as much as others but it's mostly because I don't get the majority of my kills with it. He says that Ness doesn't have any bad arials. And I guess that last one is true, but the point is that I'm tired of his excuses dispite the fact that I never complain when he kills me. He'd rather whine than learn the matchup or switch characters. So do you have any suggestions? [link] [comments]  | ||

| How do you deal with toxicity? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 05:28 PM PST Hi everyone, I've been trying to work on my play recently and things have been getting really toxic. Whenever I do practice matches, I am so toxic it is unbelievable. My mindset is horrendous and I really think it is holding me back. I came to the realisation that, if I said some of the things I think about myself out loud or god forbid to another person, it would not go down well. I can't expect myself to have fun, improve and keep playing if I am that horrible to myself so my question is how do you do it? | Would you guys and gals mind updating me on the latest hardware and mod options to play Smash? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 03:51 PM PST Just wondering if most people are playing Melee on Gamecube, Wii, or maybe Dolphin? I just moved to a new house so I'm setting up my Smash station and want to do it right this time. I have a Gamecube and a big RCA CRT, a Wii with GC controller ports and a Dell PC monitor that actually has component and composite video inputs, a Wii U with GC controller adapter, and a i5/1070 GTX gaming PC. What tournament accepted mods are we using and how are you installing them? Gamecube memory card? A Wii software mod? I saw some posts on here a little bit ago about a mod to make every controller equal as well. What's going on with that? Also what rom and mod is everyone using to play Netplay through Dolphin? Is there a list of Dolphin settings to use? Is there a Netplay mod for Wii? Oh, and are there any tournament legal mods for Smash 4 yet? Bonus pic. Just unpacked my controllers and spare shells. Posted: 29 Nov 2017 02:41 AM PST If you did a windows update it's possible that your driver has been overwritten due to windows 10 right to remove your foreing drivers. Make sure to look into your health and device (inside the windows settings) to see if you have a USB input problem and if yes just re-download Zadig and reinstall the driver for windows. It's highy possible that you will need to do so for every futur big updates that windows will have. If after a windows update your PC makes the welcoming screen that says
I'm sure you already saw those screens after an update but yeah those mean you will need to reinstall the driver. Have a nice day. -Edit: Mayflash Adapter on Windows 10 will cause issue. I don't know about the others. [link] [comments]  | ||
