| "The Venice Incident" - Blizzard's Big Reveal That Went Completely Unnoticed. Posted: 05 Nov 2017 09:06 AM PST Fans of Overwatch have had plenty of reasons to get hyped this weekend. During Blizzcon, the Overwatch team revealed a preview of a new map, new skins, a new animated short, and a brand new support hero named Moira. Shortly after Moira's reveal during the opening ceremony, the new hero's abilities and bio were added to Overwatch's official website. Buried in the hero's story synopsis is a brief reference to an event that we had previously known nothing about.

In the investigations that followed, Moira's affiliation with Blackwatch became known, and she was disavowed. But there are a lot more unanswered questions here: What happened in Venice, Italy? When did this event take place? How were the rest of the Overwatch heroes involved? And the biggest question of all: When will Blizzard give us an answer? (Uprising 2017 anyone?) | Where Are They Now? - a list of what the heroes are currently up to in the story Posted: 05 Nov 2017 11:43 AM PST The new short revealing that Reinhardt is answering the recall seems to have triggered a fair bit of discussion about where all the heroes are currently at in the 'present day' of the Overwatch story, so I typed up a big list of what everybody's currently up to! Enjoy! Ana Has teamed up with Soldier: 76 to investigate Talon's current objectives, based out of the Cairo Necropolis, with both still believed dead by the world at large. Last seen with him at an unknown location in "Reflections". Bastion Has formed a friendship of sorts with Torbjörn, and they were last seen travelling together in Sweden in "Binary". Depending on whether the Blizzard World trailer is canon, the pair may have joined the new Overwatch team. D.Va Going about her usual business as a MEKA pilot and celebrity. Last seen in a Christmas TV commercial in "Reflections". Doomfist Active on the Talon council following his escape from prison, seeking to start a new war between humans and omnics. Last seen reclaiming his gauntlet near the Adawe International Terminal in Numbani. Genji Still discovering his path, and has reconnected with Zenyatta. Last seen with him in Nepal (?) in "Reflections", penning a letter to Mercy. Hanzo Still a travelling mercenary. Last seen considering a Christmas cake in Japan (?) in "Reflections". Junkrat Has concluded his worldwide crime spree with Roadhog. Last seen back in Australia, failing to enact revenge on the Queen of Junkertown in "Junkertown: The Plan". Lúcio Touring the world with his music, with the last known stop being in London on New Year's Eve, as seen on a poster in "Reflections". McCree Still a travelling bounty hunter/vigilante. Last seen drinking alone (but watched by Sombra) at the Calaveras bar near Dorado (as found in the Castillo map) in "Reflections". Mei Having returned to civilisation, she has reconnected with Winston, and at his suggestion is maintaining the "Mei's Adventures" blog as she travels the world to investigate climate anomalies. Last seen giving a TV interview about the weather in "Reflections". Mercy Helping provide medical aid in war-torn areas around the world. Last seen receiving Genji's letter in "Reflections". Moira Pursuing her scientific goals in Oasis whilst also serving on the Talon council. Last seen during the council meeting in Venice in "Masquerade". Orisa Serving as a local hero and protector in Numbani, under the guidance of her creator Efi. Seen on patrol in "Searching". Pharah Still serving as an employee of Helix Security International. Last seen eating dinner with her father in Canada in "Reflections". Reaper Working alongside Doomfist in Talon to instigate a new war, as well as his goal of revenge on Overwatch. Last seen attending the Talon council meeting in Venice in "Masquerade". Reinhardt Has been serving as a travelling hero in Europe, with Brigitte at his side, but has now resolved to answer Winston's recall, as seen in "Honor and Glory". Roadhog Has concluded his worldwide crime spree with Junkrat. Last seen back in Australia, during Junkrat's failed revenge plan in "Junkertown: The Plan". Soldier: 76 Has teamed up with Ana to investigate Talon's current objectives, based out of the Cairo Necropolis, with both still believed dead by the world at large. Last seen with her at an unknown location in "Reflections". Sombra Working with Doomfist's Talon faction, but still pursuing her own conspiracy investigations. Last seen in Dorado in "Searching", narrowly escaping capture by Zarya by destroying a warehouse. Symmetra Still in the employ of Vishkar Corporation, but beginning to doubt how pure the intentions of the company is. Last seen in "A Better World", although she was a cover feature in Modern Architech magazine around Christmas, as seen in "Reflections". Torbjörn Has formed a friendship of sorts with Bastion, and they were last seen travelling together in Sweden in "Binary". Depending on whether the Blizzard World trailer is canon, the pair may have joined the new Overwatch team. Tracer Living in London with her girlfriend Emily, and is part of the new Overwatch team. Last seen attending Christmas dinner at Watchpoint: Gibraltar in "Reflections" (or possibly watching TV in the Blizzard World trailer). Widowmaker Working with Doomfist's Talon faction, whilst living in her family home, Château Guillard. Last seen assassinating Vialli's Talon agents before the council meeting in Venice in "Masquerade". Winston Leading the new Overwatch team from his home at Watchpoint: Gibraltar. Last seen having Christmas dinner in "Reflections" (or possibly watching TV in the Blizzard World trailer). Zarya Working personally for Katya Volskaya following Sombra's blackmail. Last seen in "Searching", agreeing to keep Volskaya's dealings with omnics a secret after encountering Sombra in Mexico. Her attitude towards omnics has begun softening after her partnership with Lynx Seventeen. Zenyatta Still a wandering monk, and has reconnected with Genji. | [Theory] Uprising 2018 will take place in the "present" and not in the "past" Posted: 05 Nov 2017 11:58 AM PST In Masquerade comic, Reaper mentions that there are "greatest tensions in London since Uprising" (2017), notably thanks to the murder of Tekhartha. Ingame, Doomfist says that London will become a "powder keg that could ignite the world" and that "Omnics will not be kept down forever". Doomfist also said in the Masquerade comic, that Talon "has a war to start". I think it is safe to say that London will be one of the first targets for Talon. And it will either be in a form of a comic, a cinematic short, or an ingame event: Uprising 2018. If I'm correct, then during Uprising 2018 we will either play as Talon heroes, or Winston's new Overwatch. We might be missing some heroes for the correct composition, but there is enough time before Uprising 2018 to solve that. Note that Halloween Terror 2016 and Halloween Terror 2017 were two different stories. 2016 variant was a story of the "Junkenstein", and 2017 was a story of "The Return of Junkenstein". It is possible to have different stories for Uprising event. TL;DR: I'm sure that Talon will soon attack London. The story will unfold either as a Comic, a Cinematic Short, or as the Uprising 2018 - altered version of Uprising 2017 with different heroes like Halloween Terror 2016 and 2017.
