We no have fish and waterplants. you can catch fish with a bukkit and you will get a bukkit of water with fish in it. this will be presistend and you can put the fish somewhere else like a aquarium: https://gyazo.com/0108a22c314be2ab8674e8bc697af7c7

Coral, kelp: https://gyazo.com/d0184fe5e6eaba724e121ab5f9d29f51 https://gyazo.com/aa1cc1c9a9ea053808ade95ca25c90f5

New water physics that can go trough non solid blocks (i guess) like fences, and items go trough it too. this is to try to get rid of the all known water gaps: https://gyazo.com/06214b1cbdda4c2078a99aabbd8b18ed

Shipwrecks, and icebergs with new treasures to find: https://gyazo.com/fa9f5eff3785d562eaf422946e8fb049 https://gyazo.com/5fe32d518d46f7bc960c12ff2a510f28

DOLPHINS, FREAKIN DOLPHINS, these will guid players to treasures: https://gyazo.com/695eeb49e3898e553e6ebbadffda341e

A new weapon "trident" that comes back to you when applied with a enchantment called loyaty (works only underwater or in rain): https://gyazo.com/9b24487c959aad56d3f18382ae61b06b

Underwater blocks can give out bubbles like the magma block: https://gyazo.com/1c09e06493b1fe5aa764612162947426

Also there are now warm and cold oceans with different terrain. the warm ocean will be like the one we have right now, and the cold one looks like the screenshot above: https://gyazo.com/fa9f5eff3785d562eaf422946e8fb049

Seamless logs confirmed for the Update Aquatic?

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 10:45 AM PST

Of all the 27,189,890 accounts that have been purchased for minecraft, only 2,680 people had a say in the addition of the new mob. That is only 0.00009856604% of total accounts.

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 11:43 AM PST

I am all for community involvement in developing a game, but I do not feel that only 2,680 people should have a choice in voting for an addition that will effect millions of players. Furthermore, only 27% of 2,680 voted for mob B, or 723 people. Overall I am very interested in the 1.14 update, but I hope that Mojang changes the voting process if they hold a community vote for an important asset like a mob in the future.

Edit: This does not include non java users, which if added is around 122,000,000

EDIT 2: It is actually 0.009856604789501%, forgot to multiply by 100

Hey guys, I came second in the Minecon Earth costume contest. I was able to ask jeb_ some questions about 1.14 and Minecon. Heres his answers!

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 02:26 PM PST

Sorry /u/jeb_ if got any of this info wrong. Just going of memory here :P

Note: these answers arent word for word but it gets the point across.

Q: What was that mystery 5th mob image. Aka mob "E" A: It was just a mock up image. It literally meant nothing.

Q: What is the bubble stream things? What do they do? A: There will be under water ravines with bubbles coming out of them. If you swim over it with a boat you will sink. You will also be able to breathe in them and transport items through them.

Q: Do the bubbles flow horizontally? Can you transport items like that? A: No, it only flows up.

Q: I heard about combat changes, what are the changes? A: Blocking will no longer be with right click, it will be activated by shifting and/or walking backwards. PVP wont return to 1.8 pvp.

Also, the off-hand will no longer be able to be used for placing blocks, mining or attacking etc. It is now only for shields, compasses, maps and items of that nature but you can still hold any item or block in your off-hand.

Q: Did you see the fix for ghost blocks? Will you fix It? A: Yes. We are always trying to fix bugs. (so kindof yes.)

Q: How big is Mob C? A: They are very large. Around 3x3 blocks.

Q: Will there be any loot in the shipwrecks? A: Yes there will be chests with treasure in them.

Q: Are the coral new blocks? It looks like terracotta. A: They are new blocks. The blocks shown was an old texture.

Q: Will mob B fly down to you if you are not really high up in the sky? A: No, for them to attack you you will have to be high above the ground/Sea level. You can expect to get attacked on Mountains in extreme hill biomes.

Other Q's to the Mojang ppl and stuff:

Insider info: Mob C was actually green and gray. (or similar colours, hopefully i remembered that right lol)

Your breath bar will not instantly regen.

I may have missed some, so if you have any questions I might be able to answer them. If jeb sees this then he could. So yeah.

Everything We Know About 1.14: The Aquatic Update!

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 11:22 AM PST

Jeb_, when redoing the water physics, please maintain the fact that signs and ladders block water, or else you will break millions of builds.

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 02:08 PM PST

1.14 looks amazing, and I'm all for new water physics. But please don't let water get past signs or ladders, because this will break many different farm and elevator designs, and will limit what the player can do severely.

Now that the Update Aquatic has been confirmed a revamp of oceans, it's time for a revamp of turtles in Minecraft

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 03:23 PM PST

Here's the OG post for those who haven't seen it

Hey guys,

So as we have seen from Minecon Earth, we have a big update coming for 1.14 with oceans getting a revamp. But we seem to, at the current time, be missing the most important creature of the oceans: turtles

Now Billy, you might be saying, turtles aren't the most important creatures of the ocean. In this, we will disagree. However, I suggest that not one, not two, but three turtles variants for the chance to be added in 1.14. Please note this is all speculation and things aren't 100% ironed out.

  • Turtle 1: The Sea Turtle

With oceans getting revamped, we need a method of travel that's below the surface rather than above via boats. Sea turtles can spawn in the coral reefs (think Finding Nemo reference), and you can right click them similar to horses to tame them. Keep in mind this is all underwater. Once tamed, you can place a saddle on them like horses/pigs, and fly through the seas; just make sure you have a method to breathe underwater. The sea turtle would be a passive mob, with around 12 hearts; killing it would drop turtle meat, which combined with mushroom soup would make turtle soup to heal for 4 hearts, and very rarely drop a sea turtle shell, which when equipped to chestplate would give a movement speed increase while underwater.

  • Turtle 2: The Tortoise

Turtles aren't just in the water. The most common ones are on land; this is that mob, which can be found in swamps. The tortoise is passive, like the sea turtle, but can't be tamed or ridden. You can breed these with fish, which is different from the other two turtle options. The tortoise would have 10 hearts with some armor built in due to the shell. If you kill a tortoise, it also has the chance to drop turtle meat as well as the rare drop of tortoise shell, which when equipped in the chestplate slot would give knockback resistance to any bow with Punch and any sword with Knockback.

  • Turtle 3: The Snapping Turtle

Let's be honest. We need something to actually fight that can fight back. This hostile turtle will spawn in jungle rivers and attack anything that comes near. It has 20 hearts with extremely high armor built in, and if it gets a hit off on you, it will deal a ton of damage. With no armor, this mob will one-shot you; with non-enchanted diamond armor, you'll be knocked down to 3 hearts. Basically, this is a mob you don't want to mess with, but killing the mob has a very big reward. Aside from the turtle meat drop, the extremely rare drop (equivalent to about wither skelly head drop percentage) is the snapping shell. This chestplate replacement has the power of essentially Thorns 5 with extremely high durability.

Hopefully with the changes that are coming in the future we can put the turtle meme to rest, as well as possibly have some of these ideas implemented somehow. Thanks for reading, and leave any comments about improving the ideas above!

They Need to Add Sharks or a Aggressive Mob to the Ocean in 1.14!

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 12:14 PM PST

We have none except the guardians, but they only spawn in certain locations. We have all this new content coming, but seemingly no threat. This would have been resolved with Mob A, but saying we are not getting that, it isn't a option. Thoughts?

Now that you fixed the oceans, Can you please fix the rivers?

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 11:51 AM PST

Rivers in Minecraft are bad. They are so thin and short that you can't even use them for boat travel.

They should be like 4-5 times wider and so much longer, like real life rivers.

Why I think people feel the game is dying despite growing.

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 07:30 AM PST

Many of the adults and kids who joined the game around 2010-2012 are feeling that the game is dying. I am a 16 year old who got the game back in 2011. The invasion of minigames and the profiliferation of large numbers of young kids (less than 10 yr olds) has "killed the game off" for people. The game isn't necessarily "dying" but for our way of minecrafting it has. Minigames used to be an extra thing to do. Then they BECAME the game. I have a 7 year old cousin who started playing when he was 5. The only thing he knows is minigames, I tried to teach him survival but he can't handle it, it requires too much creative thought and management, all he knows how to do is rush a loot crate. I have not played the game seriously in a year since I used to play mod packs every now and then, but the last server I was on shut down after 4 years of operation due to lack of people playing able to donate and keep the server up. All the adults left, and kids are sticking to minigame servers (not that they would have saved the server anyway). Overall, I think the reason the game feels to be dying is the fact that the proliferation of young kids and minigames pushed away the majority of the adult community who is more likely to communicate on fourms and such about who is left playing and when the majority of adults is not playing, the game is assumed to be dying.
