If Sleep becomes a more common mechanic later down the line, Nocturne should absolutely have an interaction with it

Posted: 15 Nov 2017 05:57 AM PST

Manc IS a living nightmare after all.

Similarly to how some Pokemon have special moves that interact with the Sleep status (Dream Eater and Snore for example), Nocturne could have a special interaction with the new Sleep mechanic. Kinda like how he already already has a special interaction with Fear, due to their horrifying nightmare about Gragas slathering himself in sunflower oil)

For example, maybe a special passive where Nocturne's presence causes sleeping enemies to take damage over time.

My Lord! - the most fun new game mode you can have in Co-op vs A.I. without instalocking your 100% clean Yasuo main.

Posted: 14 Nov 2017 11:30 PM PST

Co-op vs A.I. is a strange, uncharted area of the League-osphere.

But there's an even stranger new/ancient game mode that the Riot devs have hidden in every. single. patch. note. since. season. one.

It's called MY LORD!

It's simple.

  • You grab 3 buddies and yourself.

  • The 4 of you queue up in a Co-op vs A.I. game.

  • The 5th lucky player who enters your game is instantly declared MY LORD! by all 4 of you in chat.

  • This means that whatever MY LORD does in game, you imitate without question. You stick in the same lane as them. You take the exact same summoners as them. They got Flash in the D slot? So do you.

  • whenever they base, you all base. You buy the exact same item as them. Not enough gold? Shame on You, give your life for MY LORD! Let them know how much shame you have brought.

  • you give everything that you have to protect the life of MY LORD. You never flame. You never answer back. You never question the play making decisions of MY LORD. You follow them into battle with unshakeable loyalty.

  • it's a character building excersise.

  • try it.

  • also: if you don't have any friends you can always try and queue up as MY LORD and let your minions witness your truly incredible leadership.

EDIT: Guys, this is just a bit of fun, no ones advocating being a douche. Not all things need to be super serious.

You are Honor Level 5 but you want the blue or purple ward skin?

Posted: 15 Nov 2017 02:32 AM PST

I know this idea comes a little late, but maybe it's still possible or a solution for next year.

Some people who reached Honor Level 5 are a bit sad, because they like the blue or purple Honor ward even more than the orange.

The perfect solution for this:

You log in and a message pops out. if you reached Honor Level 5 you can choose 1 out of the 3 wards, if you reached Honor Level 4 you can choose the blue or the purple one and Honor Level 3 gets the blue one.

I made a picture, so you can understand what i mean really easy

Everyone would be happy except for Gary, because Ash picked the orange one.

So no season recap this year ?

Posted: 15 Nov 2017 08:10 AM PST

I can't remember if it was at the end of the season or the end of the preseason last year, anyone heard about it yet ?

Would be so great to have it back somehow. Even if it's the same, I'm not even asking for improvements from last year. Show me how unskilled i am and how many times I destroyed my keyboard.

Edit : the Answer is yes. Thanks for the replies. Season Recap is coming

Volibear is currently the only champion that doesnt have enough data on OP.GG

The armored bear is the only champion on http://www.op.gg/champion/statistics who doesnt have enough data.He is an endangered species at this point (which fits since he is a polar bear after all).I hope Riot has sometimes in store for our favorite bear.

Patch 7.21 had 25% increased IP gains

Posted: 14 Nov 2017 06:44 PM PST

https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/30zvj2Ni-mortdog-you-either-lied-or-were-misinformed-be-values?comment=0008

IP gains were increased by approximately 24% for the last patch of Season 7 because of a bug that got introduced when preparing for the preseason changes. According to the OP of the linked post, a 35 minute win resulted in 123 IP earned, when the normal IP formula would have given 99 IP, and a 33 minute loss gave 77 IP when it should have given 62 IP. Riot Mortdog explained that a bug had been increasing those numbers for just that final patch of the season.

This is significant for two reasons:

  1. Comparing IP gains with the new BE leveling system is inaccurate if you use the last patch to compare. You have to use IP gains from 7.20 or earlier in order to get an accurate comparison between the two systems.

  2. It shows that people didn't actually care as much about the IP/game system as Reddit/Boards are making it seem. There are tens of millions of players, and no one noticed that they were getting nearly 25% more IP per game than they had been the previous patch for two weeks. In fact, no one would have noticed if someone hadn't fact checked Riot Mortdog's comment in a different thread.

One of the big topics on both Reddit and the Boards is that the new system where you earn a large sum of BE all at once when you level up feels worse than the old "steady trickle" system where you earned IP after each game. If Reddit/Boards are to be believed, the most important thing on players' minds at the end of the game was seeing how much IP they earned that match. This bug shows that the opposite is actually true. No one really cared about how much IP they got at the end of a game, unless they were a few hundred from being able to purchase a champion they wanted. They didn't look at how much they got, they didn't think about it - they just didn't really care.

I know it's anecdotal, but that fits my personal experience with the IP system exactly. I never payed attention to how much I was getting each game - 80 or 90 IP just didn't feel exciting or significant at all. I would even ignore my total IP most of the time, until I wanted something, when I would look at how much I had and feel a bit of excitement when I saw that I had 3 or 4 thousand more than a week or two ago. But anytime I was paying attention to how much I was earning game by game (when I'm at 5800 and have a 6300 champion I want), it was frustrating and felt bad because of how slow it went up.

That is why I feel like this new system - and I'm referring specifically to the "big bursts" each level, not the RNG nature of how much you get - actually feels better for most players. Or, at least, it will, once we get used to the change. Opening up a capsule and getting 900, 1000, 1200 BE all at once is a lot more satisfying than getting 80 or 90 IP after every game - it's like the difference between your boss slapping a $20 bill on your desk every hour and you getting a $1600 check every 2 weeks. It feels better, even though it's the same amount.

The numbers may need tweaking, and the planned BE for FWotD is definitely a good thing so we don't get stuck for a few days while we need 10 BE for a champion, but overall, I feel like this system will end up feeling a lot better than the old one once we get used to it. BE will actually feel like a reward, rather than something that's just there that we don't notice until we need it.
