20 days ago i was trying to grab some candy corns in a country that doesn't really have them. They were out of stock in every online shop, so i asked you /r/GuildWars2 for help to find those.

I got a private message from one user that said:

[...] I am in the USA and could send you some candy corn and maybe another treat (if you want) at the end of this week.

And guess what... after those 20 days i am sitting here with my fiancee, stuffing our faces with candy corn :D

Edit: Those candy corns taste awesome :D

Use waypoints if you're fully dead.

Posted: 02 Nov 2017 11:20 PM PDT

Biggest annoyance is when people who are fully dead during world bosses/meta events just stay on the ground waiting for people to res them. It takes longer for people to res you compared to you just taking the waypoint and walking back. Not only are you taking yourself out of the fight while waiting for a res, you're taking people out of the fight as well. Trying to res someone while in combat just takes too long.

Especially during Tequatl runs and Dragon Stand..... It's just so annoying.

[NA][RAID TRAINING][Discord server] The Raider’s Inn looking for people who want to get into raids

Posted: 03 Nov 2017 08:36 AM PDT

The Raider's Inn is a server discord dedicated to train newer people in raids. We are currently sitting at about 1800 members and have been around for well over a year.

What we offer:

• Training several times a week. We have several trainers who cover different times. Trainings usually happen later in the week (Wednesdays-Sundays), from early afternoon NA times to late night.

• Our trainers are highly qualified and will always answer questions on the discord server. There is almost always somebody who will answer any questions you may have.

• We do require meta builds because while raids can be completed with any builds, with new players meta builds make room for the largest margin of error, giving groups the highest chance for a kill. We require the builds because it is not fair to the other 9 people in your group that come to learn that you are holding them back. Meta build information will be provided and any questions answered if asked on any of our channels. We're more than happy to help.

• Many trainers schedule their runs many days in advance so that you can sign up for ahead of time, and others do impromptu runs that fit their schedule, and you can join those as you see them.

• Raids are still chill, everyone is here to learn and we all know it, there's no pressure to play perfectly. Do not feel bad if you mess up. That's why it is called TRAINING.

General server rules:

• Do your part: We will help as much as you can, but you need to practice and prepare for training on your own. This also means being able to take constructive criticism to address your mistakes.

• Be polite and considerate towards other members. Joking around is fine, toxicity is not.

If you are interested. Join with the following link and follow the instructions on #read-first. https://discord.gg/raQE5fZ

Disclaimer: The training and any other activites organized in this server are entirely free. If anybody that is part of this server tries to charge you so much as a copper please report them to Kytt (that's her in-game name, as well as her name on discord).

Edit: If you are on the European servers, we welcome you!! However, we are not servicing the EU region on this server. We have partnered with The Crossroads Inn to fulfill your raid training needs! Please join them using the following link: https://discord.gg/nZg52r3

Lack of Collection Achievements in PoF doesn't allow you to see your "completion" of that content.

Posted: 03 Nov 2017 09:53 AM PDT

I can't be alone in this... in HoT you had a collection for every weapon and armor set, backpacks etc.. That way you just knew what you are still missing and it drove you towards completing that part of the game. There are some impressive weapons and armor sets in PoF, yet most players will ignore, dare I say it, most of them, plainly because they can't see they even exists (how the hell can a player know that Elonian and Spearmashalls are two different armor sets, they just want to play and not read excel sheets).

I don't care if they do it late, but I think they definitely should dedicate a small team to making all of the rewards in PoF (unless they are intended to be hidden) into collections so that people know that there is still something to work towards in PoF.

EDIT: Important to say I believe. Yes, achievements full of lists of things you can do after you've done the big stuff (story / gear / character progression) aren't what you might associate with RPG gameplay... but they are a vital part of any MMO that wants to increase player retention instead of having bursts of players in and out with each release.

While I completely understand why this was scrapped, I do wonder how this prologue would've played out, who were the allies in each city? Your thoughts?

Endless Potion of Ascalonian Mages?

Posted: 03 Nov 2017 04:24 PM PDT

Currently, the Potion of Ascalonian Mages is the only combat tonic without an endless/infinite version. With the way that transformations have been updated to work, this makes it a transformation that can't be voluntarily ended, short of changing maps or relogging, since it can't be toggled off like the infinite potions can. This causes some problems with the mount system as it does not let you mount while transformed.

Ideally the solution would involve making an endless version of this combat tonic, and potentially changing the transformations so that a new one replaces the old (including mounting as a transformation), rather than just dislaying a message.

Devs pls.

My luckiest day so far in GW2

Posted: 03 Nov 2017 11:07 AM PDT

I decided to gamble on the forge for some precursor using my mystic forge stones and random exos and i got Dawn in the first 5 tries and then continued to gamble the remaining exos and stones i have then got a Spark! After sometime, i decided to gamble 150g on random exotics again and voila, got The Colossus!

I just spent almost 400g on the forge and i got almost 1500g as profit! Feels good man!

Sharing my PvE Power Renegade build (100% crit, 25 might, hp drains)

Posted: 03 Nov 2017 07:30 PM PDT

Warning: I'm a total noob to reddit, and I'm not a super elite player when it comes to GW2, but this was a lot of fun and I felt like sharing.

I wanted to share a build I've been having a lot of fun with in PvE. I noticed most people going for condi renegade, but after switching to a power set, I still wanted to mess around with renegade. To my surprise, the results were actually incredibly fun.

The build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vlAQNAsXlnXMXNSumrJRZz/kst5gSY38QJ4berkFNl6PIPykkdMSj4odACgIA-jxRBQBUS9H8oHgG7PYGlgXR53CfEAA4MAAA-e

The basic idea is to put out a ton of damage, and also get back health with a multitude of life draining.

Thanks to the Brutal Momentum trait, this build will leave you with over 80% crit passively any time you are at full endurance. You'll have 100% crit any time you have fury which can be accessed by hitting an enemy below 50% hp, or simply swapping legends. Which is a super important thing, by the way. You should aim to swap legends the moment you hit 0 energy. You'll be back up to 50 and can use both your Renegade abilities and your other legend abilities. This can help offset the high cost of the renegade skills.

With the Vindication trait, you'll also gain Might every single time you crit. And since we're at 100% crit, you'll never have to worry about Might again.

Another huge part of this build is Darkrazor's Daring. This skill is amazing, and is made even better by Sigil of Draining. Darkrazor will pulse out a wave in a 360 radius that will deal damage to five enemies and daze them every second for six seconds, interrupting any skills each and every hit. Combining both the chain of interrupts from Darkrazor and the 1k no-icd damage and healing of the Sigil of Draining gives you a massive boost to damage and survivability.

Also! I prefer having Dwarf as the second Legendary simply for his Vengeful Hammers. With all of the above traits, they will put Vuln on everything, and pulse additional healing from the Vuln life steals. This makes you very tanky.

The build has a lot of customization options, but I've personally had a huge amount of fun with it. Hope you will too!

GW2 Raid Academy needs help praising Joko! Also preparing for new raids. Praise Joko.

Posted: 03 Nov 2017 04:27 PM PDT

In light of incoming content and possible new Raids, Guild Wars 2 Raid Training has gone through some exciting and large internal changes. In a really short span of time this Discord has skyrocketed to 2400+ members. We are changing our name to better emphasize our purpose and approach to raid training - we are now GW2 Raid Academy!

  • 2400+ members and growing; we are always looking for more individuals to teach and train raid encounters to better serve our community, so there is a place for new members and experienced raiders alike!
  • We are partnered with Snow Crows, an EU based raiding guild that aligns with our mission and provides valuable information for a large portion of endgame content including both raids and fractals. (Shoutout to Axias, Target, and Yui for being awesome!) Check them out at https://snowcrows.com/ and give them some love!
  • LI is not a requirement for advancement within the Discord. To promote accessibility to raids for newer players, we will not require 100+ LI for clearing entry level bosses or learning some of the more difficult encounters. We track progress with a custom bot created by Maselkov (the developer of GW2_Bot) to keep a running tally of each individual boss kill per week.
  • Our community is both knowledgeable and helpful for all types of players. Swing by any of our class-specific channels for advice on your staff-wielding Daredevil or lament the incoming (and inevitable) nerfs to Necromancers with other necro mains.
  • We are more than happy to accommodate off-meta characters for raid encounters. Bring your barrier-generating support Scourges and your Power Chronos for DPS. Experimentation is both welcome and fun!
  • On Fridays, we throw our tier system out the window (into a pile of pillows so we don't break it, of course) so all can have their chance to take it to Deimos or Xera!
  • For a bit of eye bleach after a long and hard fought training session, our fuzzy, scaley, or fishy friends can find their home in our pet channel. It's like bring your pet to work day, except better!

Our skilled moderation staff are more than happy to work with everyone to accommodate their individual needs, but there are a few rules to follow while making yourself comfortable here. The rules can be found easily once you jump in, but here is the tl;dr.

  • Love the Moderators: Staff members devote their free time to maintain GW2 Raid Academy. Treat them with respect!
  • Considerate Communication: Keep voice chat clear during runs, and use push-to-talk if you have noticeable background noise.
  • Shaming Stinks: Do not call out other individuals publicly for low performance or missed mechanics. Message your commander or server staff so they can address your concerns instead.
  • No Advertisements: We support players naturally forming bonds with each other, but we are group-neutral. Do not advertise in chat for any Guilds, Discords, or other organizations not directly endorsed by our server.
  • Don't be a dingus: Sexism, racism, ageism, or any other form of intolerance of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Feedback is Fantastic: We're constantly improving our server based on your awesome feedback.

Click the following link to share your journey and grow with us (https://discord.gg/x4uNQpy). We all look forward to seeing you in game – Happy Raiding!

  • GW2RA Staff

Visible stack counters?

Posted: 03 Nov 2017 04:47 PM PDT

Is there an option or a checkbox to make stack counters larger or more visible? Even with UI scaling, I'm finding I'm squinting to read stack counters. Viscount's Candy Coated is white text on a blue-and-white icon. Mad King's Favor is white text on a white-and-yellow icon. Obviously, for Mad King's Favor, it's just a quality-of-life thing, being able to relax once you hit 12 stacks. But for Candy Coated, trying to keep track of the stacks, I'm either casting spells and getting stunned OR I'm relying on auto attack while I track the counter to avoid getting stunned. Most squads are comfortable enough with Viscount that I can afford to eat dirt a couple times during a holiday event but I don't want to be holding up a magnifying glass to my monitor while trying to do any sort of organized content ...

QOL Change for Mesmer Portal

Posted: 02 Nov 2017 11:48 PM PDT

Please can we have some type of distance marker on the minimap, like a circular radius around our current location of the max distance? Or even a running number over the icon (like the distance meters we already have)...or even just not allow an exit portal to be opened if gone too far, like whats the point?
